I took in eight pairs of pants to be hemmed to the same length and paid for all of them. When I got them home, five were hemmed correctly and three appeared to have not been hemmed at all. When I returned, the clerk insisted that it was my fault and the 3 pair of pants had not been marked correctly, even though she was the one marking them. I agreed to pay an additional fee for them to correctly hem the three pants. When I got them back, only two had been hemmed correctly and the third was still three inches too long. I got some jeans hemmed and the girl was very nice and helpful and remembered me when I came back a month later to pick up. Don't worry it didn't take them a month, I just picked up late. It takes her only a few days unless you need it rushed. They have nice dressing rooms to change into your items and shoes of different heights to make sure you get the right hem. We went to Connie tailor to have our daughter's wedding dress altered and we have been amazed at what Connie was able to do! The dress was a store sample and 3 sizes too big and 8 inches too long. Last week I dropped two pants to have some work on. They were new pants. One of them at the time of picking them up, they told me that they did not finished because the pants were damage. They said I dropped them in that condition. No way. I was furious, more because they did not admit what they done to my pants. They offer to give me a discount for no fixing one of my pants but that was not the point. At the end I left. I will never come back and I will never tell some one to bring work to this guys. Connie Tailor dice a nice job with dress pants and jackets for tailoring. I had a suit that came in just a little too long in both the sleeves and the pants, and Connie Tailor was quick to fix it. They're pricing was higher than I expected, despite the quality, which is why I tend not to use them unless in a bind (they can tailor your garment in as little as 10 minutes for an extra fee). I have not used them to tailor any jeans, however, so take them there at your own risk. read more

Hm. I used to come to the place a long time ago, and I still did. However, after a long time, I recently came back to this place to get my pants sewed, and at a high, unreasonable price. The new couple that occupies this shop was friendly, but their quality and pricing is low and high, respectively. Their old owner is reasonable, sweet, and did very good. I came back home disappointed, and so, that's why this needs a lower review. read more

I just cannot say enough about Anna at Connie Tailor in Cary. She is definitely the best tailor/seamstress in the Triangle area. After checking reviews on various sites, I decided to try Connie Tailor and I'm so glad I did, even though I live in North Durham. I had a coat that I wanted altered with some very challenging specifications. I didn't even know if what I was requesting would be possible--for anyone. And I wouldn't have been surprised if she had told me it couldn't be done. But not only did Anna tell us she could do it; she had the coat ready in just a few days (important since we were leaving town and I needed it for an event in Manhattan) and it looked absolutely beautiful! I couldn't believe what a great job she did. She also altered my dress for the event and made it fit perfectly. The first reason to go to Connie Tailor of course is that Anna is meticulous and talented, and her work is the best around. However, it certainly doesn't hurt that she is such a sweet and friendly person, more than willing to accommodate you or try an alteration request that may seem strange to another tailor. I plan to take several pairs of my husband's and son's pants to Anna for alterations soon, and I've told my friends that, when they need the services of a tailor, they should go see Anna. read more

Anna at Connie Tailor is the best. We have used her for all of our alterations we've needed for my wedding. The most impressive being that we wanted my sister's maid of honor dress to look different than the bridesmaids dresses. So Anna she completely took the top off of the original dress bridesmaid dress and made a new top from scratch with extra fabric we bought. It turned out beautiful! She altered my rehearsal dinner dress. She also made bows and sahes for the flower girls. We've run up quite a tab at Connie Tailor but it's been completely worth it!! read more

Connie was helpful, and did a fabulous job -- even with a difficult dress. She was quick, and affordable as well.

Annie is extremely talented, kind, knowledgeable, creative, and worth her weight in gold. Fast, professional, and nothing throws her for a loop. I've had her do everything from standard suit-tailoring to repairs, to unusual things like replacing zippers on favorite backpacks and adding pockets to shower curtains. No job is too big or too small, and every job is treated with respect. Best tailoring experience I have ever had--and I have lived all over this country, and was in the military for 21 years, so I've had a great deal of experiences with tailors throughout my life. read more

I took a dress to Connie's and they shortened the long sleeves. I was completely satisfied since it looked as if they hadn't been touched. They did a french seam and put the sleeves back together in such a fine manner. I did not find they were expensive and I will definitely go back again if I need alterations. read more

So sad! All the wonderful reviews for this place were absolutely true until the recent sale of the business by the incredibly sweet and dedicated prior owner. It is so sad because not only did the business do high quality work for a very reasonable price but it was always a small pleasure to come into the store. Now, the new couple who bought the business have raised the prices, SIGNIFICANTLY lowered the quality of the work (even though they claim the same workers remain that had worked for the prior owner) and the ambience is completely lost. I had requested a repair of the knee on my son's jeans - a job I had done by them about a dozen times in the past - and knowing that there was a change in ownership I inquired about the way in which it would be done. After being assured that it would be done with the same technique used in the past I left the pants for them to work on for a week at a higher cost than in the past and paid cash in advance as requested. I returned on the pick up date to find a very shoddy and cheap looking repair which was nothing like their past work. It was clear that under new ownership they had taken major short cuts and run the pants through the sewing machine as quickly as possible. The new owners offer to me when I expressed my concern was that he could tear out their repair and give me my money back. Needless to say I will be searching for a new tailor. read more
