This had been my go-to shop for alterations for years, but unfortunately I'll have to find a different place going forward. The biggest issue was the owner's attitude. Even when I was polite and simply wanted to work toward a solution, she became very defensive instead of acknowledging that an alteration didn't turn out as expected. Sometimes alterations don't work the first time, and I would have appreciated hearing, "We tried, it didn't work--let's see how we can make it right." Instead, she seemed more focused on defending the original alteration, even when it clearly hadn't resolved the issue. I also had to return for redos because I found pins left in my clothes after alterations, which had never happened in my previous experiences there. It also seemed like there may be a communication gap between the person taking the measurements and the seamstress completing the work. It's disappointing because this was my trusted alteration shop for years, but after this experience, I won't be returning. read more

I had 5 jackets and 2 trousers altered here--3 odd (sports) jackets and 2 full suits (jackets and pants). I had asked them to make a number of alterations to the suits and jackets for a better fit. I also asked them to pull the stitching on the suit pockets so I could use them and fix a snag in one of the odd jackets. They said this would be no problem and agreed to do all the work. The odd jackets came out fine as far as I can tell. No obvious errors in the alterations on the odd jackets or suit jackets. However, when I came in to pick up the jackets, I saw they hadn't fixed the snag and failed to open up the suit pockets. It's common for new suits to have the pockets sewn shut. A seamstress can rip these open and make them functional--it's not a difficult task for someone who knows what they're doing and shouldn't take long. But, they simply didn't do it as promised. After pointing this out, Ann sent the suit jacket, vest, and snagged odd jacket to the back to have them worked on. The odd jacket came back fixed, and the suit jacket with functional pockets. But, the vest pockets hadn't been touched. So, I had to send it back again reiterating the work we agreed on. Ann asked me "are you sure the vest pockets are real? We don't want to open them up if they're not real." Yes Ann, they're real--any seamstress can tell just by eyeballing it. The only major problem with the alterations was the pants for one of my suits. They damaged the fabric on the waist of one of my suit pants when letting it out, then didn't want to accept responsibility for the damage, implying that it might have been that way when the pants were originally made. No, they weren't damaged when I brought them in. This was a MTM suit I had made back in 2016, and worn exactly twice since then (It's spent most of its life hanging up in my closet due to me getting a bit too fat in the mid-section and not being able to fit into the pants, and not having an occasion to wear it until now). It looks like they were accidentally damaged when pulling the stitch to do the alteration. Hey, it happens to even the best of tailors, but the way to handle this is to fess up, own it, and try to make it right--not pretend it didn't happen or minimize it. They also left a bunch of loose threads when they were done instead of cleaning everything up. That's just sloppy workmanship. The pants are still wearable, but I'm disappointed by the damage since this suit is a bit sentimental to me (it was my wedding suit). Ann tried to shrug it off as not being very noticeable. To me, this is unacceptable. A simple apology and offer to make it right would have gone a long way. Instead, the shop engaged in juvenile face-saving behavior, which is unprofessional. This, coupled with the fact that I had to remind them multiple times to do other finishing details we had agreed on made for a disappointing experience. The suits are still wearable, the odd jackets did ultimately get finished correctly and fit well. Damage aside, I didn't get the level of customer service I was expecting (especially given the number of garments I brought them), and they didn't offer any sort of compensation for the damage. Lesson learned, I guess. I hate writing reviews like this, but I also don't like being treated poorly by businesses who are doing a lot of work for me and cashing the check regardless of the outcome. read more

I was initially pleased with recent hemming of some pants .Wide leg pants are not easy to get hemmed correctly .Several days after picking them up I noticed the hem was coming out.Upon closer inspection I saw that one side had a sparsely placed hem rather than it being done continuously around the leg . Will have to go back myself and re-inforce the hem. read more

Let's start and end with customer service. How about greeting a customer or even acknowledging a customer walking through the door. I went to pick up an item and the person working there was helping another customer for quite some time and hadn't even said "hello" or "I'll be right with you". They were ruffled (and I'm not referring to embellishments on an article of clothing!) when I asked if they were the only person there to help me. I have a modicum of patience but I think that customer service in general has completely gone down the drain in many places, not just this one. Why go into the business of helping people if you will not even turn their way! A smile, a hello, how are you, may I help you, thank you and/or have a nice day go a long way! read more

Great experience with Lee Tailors. I went in on a Wednesday evening, needing a pair of pants taken up in the waist. A sweet girl helped me out & placed the pins on where I needed the pants taken in. She promised me Saturday after 1 PM. I showed up at 1 PM on Saturday & they were on the rack waiting for me. The same girl was there, with her same sweet personality. ZERO STARS. BELIEVE THE BAD REVIEWS HERE. My dress wasn't ready on time and was BOTCHED badly. Hem completely uneven; sleeves didn't match. As they made me wait until closing to pick up, there was no time to wait on a fix and I was leaving the next morning on a trip. Had to get another tailor to fix and Lee's argued about their policy, knowing I was unable to wait, further complicated by the fact that I had an Alzheimer's patient alone waiting on me which I told them. The customer service was TERRIBLE and when I questioned they shoved me to the side making me wait behind anyone who walked in off the street - even if it took all day!!!! They wouldn't refund the $60 extra I had to pay to correct their horrible job that I paid $137 for, and after arguing back and forth wouldn't even return my messages. If I did, I could have told them how to fix it correctly. She said they don't know how customers want their clothing fixed -- aesthetics or durability. What makes a tailor shop deserve five stars? When I drop off a shirt for multiple button repair, they promise it a few days later, and then I get a voicemail. I call back, and the very articulate voice on the other end says, "I noticed that if I use the buttons I have that best match the existing buttons, they may make the shirt look funny, so I wanted to check with you and recommend that we move certain buttons around so it will look the way you want." I am so impressed! I'm used to using David's Bridal for gown alterations which can be super pricey and take weeks and weeks to be finished, so procrastinating as a maid of honor I was in a bit of a panic! Haven't been in for alterations since I moved across country almost 2 years ago. Wow. They are wonderful! They were busy and still organized with one seamstress in front and one host. I got in immediately on Sat afternoon and had a whole dress pinned in minutes. I had a BELOVED dirty stuffed dog toy that needed nose sewn together and a coat I was wearing needing a button. Host said too busy to do these two things immediately while I waited so got ready to go and seamstress overheard. She took two things to back room for tailors and returned to me in 5 minutes better than new! Remi my pup was sooo happy he didn't lose his baby. Never asked for payment, said pay when return. I don't know how dress will turn out or cost of all this but excellent customer service. THE BEST! read more

Lee's Tailor Shop had gotten good reviews here and their price was competitive with other shops in the area. The service was courteous and the work was done on time and at the price they had given me for an estimate. Very good job on the alterations I had requested. I wish I could give them ZERO STARS!!!! I am sitting here LIVID. These people were not only RUDE, they made me wait 15 minutes after their opening hours said they were open before anyone even showed up , then they didn't even do the job right (I was having a dress taken in, sat and had it measured , and it wouldn't even close) I was told this was MY fault, even though I had just come in 3 day ago to bring the dress in and have it taken in. Then I was told I would have to leave the dress since it would take a long time for them to fix it, yet it took them only 5 minutes when I said I would not leave the store without my dress. As the owner went to the back of the store everyone at the front of the store heard her insulting me, making jokes about me, etc, as I sat waiting for my dress. Then I was told I would be charged for their errors and the final price would be more than TRIPLE what I was "guaranteed" would be the "max" it would cost when I gave them the dress. Then as the owner reluctantly admitted to her own error, she began questioning me about my designer handbag, whether it was real or not, and saying how if I can have a real name brand purse I should be able to pay. Completely inapprorpiate I am FURIOUS at how I have been treated and the horrible service I received. I WILL NEVER COME HERE AGAIN AND I URGE YOU TO LOOK ELSEWHERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE ROBBED AND INSULTED. read more

Long review here, but I unfortunately had a very negative experience with Lee's Tailor. I brought in my lace wedding dress a few weeks ago to have the straps taken up and the dress hemmed. At my first visit I was assisted by a woman who pinned up the straps to a place I/we thought was appropriate (at least, she certainly never indicated they were pinned inappropriately), and then used the chalk on the bottom of the dress to indicate where it should be hemmed to (I explained that I wanted it skimming the floor). I thought it was a bit odd that she would use white chalk on a white dress and asked whether she was sure they would be able to see it, and she said yes. Fast forward to a week later: the straps had been shorted far too much and the dress had been hemmed too short, including the lace outer-layer being half to 3/4 of an inch shorter than the lining. The same woman helped me that day; with respect to the straps she acknowledged they were definitely too short and said I would end up with my skin rubbed raw under my arms from the lace digging in. She also acknowledged that the lace was shorter than the lining and was certainly not skimming the floor. She felt I needed to come back to meet with one of the seamstresses to look at the dress. I came back the next week and the straps had been undone and the hem taken out of the lace. I told her that the lace seemed the perfect length now (but, of course, this was without any hem in it) and she went around the bottom with pins, and she pinned the straps to the appropriate length. I waited until the other customers had left and then tried to ask certain questions: I wanted to confirm she could keep the dress at floor length (and understand the plan for that since it was the right length without a hem in it) and I also noted there was now some damage to the lace on one of the straps. She responded that there was no damage to the strap, and that, as far as the hem, I was "worried about things I didn't need to worry about." This seemed like a rude response; I felt that my concerns were justified based on (1) this is my dress, and (2) they had done a poor job with it the first time. When I came back almost another week later, the straps were in the right place (though there is certainly damage to the one strap and that strap is also now somewhat thinner than the other). As for the hem, they had taken approximately 3" of the lace that had been cut off and attached it to the bottom of the dress, and then turned that piece under to use as the "hem"; because lace is obviously transparent, this created a 3" border around the bottom of the dress, which was absolutely not how the dress originally looked. The woman assisting me was the original one. I asked why it had been sewn that way and again pointed out the damage to the strap. She told me she thought the border looked cute and asked what it was I wanted them to do this time since it was their 3rd time working on the dress (as though that was somehow my fault). I told her that at this point I really preferred to take it somewhere else (my wedding is 5/5 so there is no time to order another dress). She responded that would be fine, I could pay my $98 for the tailoring and then take it elsewhere. I told her I was not going to pay that amount of money (or any amount, really) for a job that had not been done correctly. She then said ok, but that I would not be taking the dress out of their shop. I was stunned. They were holding my dress hostage. She told me I was being very picky about the dress, and anything I felt had been done wrong would be my word against theirs. I got quite upset and could not believe this is how they speak to a customer. I didn't see much choice so I let them keep the dress to make the hem smaller. I hate that my experience with this shop was so awful when many others have had good experiences, but I certainly could never recommend them to anyone. read more

Holy Cow! I went in to have them tailor a dress shirt, and when I picked it up, it was as if they didn't do anything. It was still way too big. When I confronted them, they said, well, I could make it fit, but it would mess up the sleeves (they would be too tight). Basically, they were saying that the shirt cannot be tailored, after completing a slight alteration, and taking my money. I was baffled. The information (that it can't be tailored) would have been valuable before failing to do it and charging me. Very disappointed. read more

I arrived at 5:55 and was greeted very rudely with a nasty look and with an attitude clearly indicating annoyance and harsh tone " Can I help you??" She says. I replied, yes I have an appointment here at 6:00. She rolls her eyes and with same attitude and tone as before " with who?" She says. I told her I did not catch a name just told I could come in at 6. She said nothing and continued what she was doing. I just left. Worst customer service experience I've ever had! Was coming in to have my wedding dress altered. There was no way I was trusting someone who was so blatantly rude and annoyed by my appointment with something so special. Highly disappointed. I took a blazer, a tank top, and a pair of jeans to get tailored here. I was told the blazer would be around $17, the tank top would be around $7. and the jeans would be around $5. When I paid, it ended up being $39 total which is $10 more than the estimated cost. When I asked for an itemized receipt, they were unable to provide one. I would have asked for an explanation, but the lady who runs the cash register is very rude and intimidating. For example, as people came in while I was paying, she'd ask if they needed to try something on and she would say very rudely and with little patience "Go straight into the dressing room. That's the first thing you always do." In addition to her off-putting personality, my tank top and jeans were misplaced and she had to call in another employee to help find it. The whole I had fixed in my jeans was not as great as I expected, but the tank top and blazer jobs were fine. Overall, this was not a very pleasant experience and I don't see myself returning to this tailor shop. read more
