I've been getting my clothes tailored here for years. I recently got my wedding dress altered here. I was nervous because my dress is pretty unique and intricate, but they've done it again. They did such a good job!!! They told me the cost upfront and allowed me to come back for as many fittings as I needed. They were patient and helpful, not to mention fast!! I was in a slight time crunch and were willing to work with me and have the alterations done as soon as I could come in for my next fitting. I refuse to go anywhere else to have alterations done after going to Lee's. They are great with everything from shortening/lengthening pants, taking in shirts, darting jackets....you name, and they do it well. For an extra dollar, they can typically have anything done that day, if not that hour. They tend to get extremely crowded on the weekends though, so don't expect to stroll in at 5PM on a Saturday and have your pants ready for that evening. Go during any weeknight and you will be in and out in no time. read more

Brought a new suit in that needed 4 different alterations the same day. I was greeted by a very friendly lady who was very engaging to me and all of the customers in the store, most of which she knew by name. She even gave her condolences for my family member that passed (told her in conversation) and his funeral was the reason that I needed my black suit altered. She even promised that my suit would be ready in 2 hours which I thought was very ambitious. Well, she had it done and done very nicely I might add. This type of friendly and prompt service is becoming less common these days but I am really glad that Lee's Tailors still run their business by making customer satisfaction a priority. I know they have a good reputation, but they completely messed up the hem of my jeans. The first time they did it they left the threads in, so they were visible from the outside of the leg (which was completely bizarre). They agreed to fix it, but they were unable to make it so that there isn't a ton of puckering from the section of the original jean that is placed on the inside of the leg. It's pretty ridiculous looking, and I would never go back to them for anything. read more

Lee's is an average tailor. They're perfectly competent at the simple things - hemming jeans or replacing a zipper. If you read Lee's five-star reviews on this site, they're all about simple alterations done within a week. If this is what you need, then Lee's is fine. However, if you need more difficult alterations done or have a luxury or specialty item, like a wedding dress, I wouldn't bring it here. Those items require above average skill and knowledge of fashion to do right, and you won't find that at Lee's. read more

Nice people in here and they are committed to get the job done right. However, I will likely not use them again. I'm getting expensive mens clothing tailored and I do not believe that these folks understand how classic mens clothing is supposed to fit. I have to argue with them about sleeve length and the always seem to get the length wrong. I know how I want my clothes to fit and they can't seem to get it right. On the other hand, they do take another crack at it if I'm not happy. The service level is good. For basic pants hemming I would use them. I wouldn't let them touch my jackets again. read more

This review is based solely on customer service, because we took our suit and left the store to find a different tailor. We worked with a man that was very rude. He was very curt with us when we asked him to explain why he has to remove all the buttons on the cuffs of the suit (we honestly didn't understand what he was saying because he had a very thick accent), he rolled his eyes and made a dramatic sigh. He also asked if the pants fit in the waist and didn't even both to look and see that the waist was 2 inches too big. He sloppily pinned the trouser legs and really just wanted to get us out of the store so he could get to the next customer. He obviously didn't care about us as customers so we decided to pack up and leave. Oh, and by the way, while we were waiting, a young lady came in to pick up a cocktail dress-- they had messed up her alterations and even forgot to put shoulder straps on the dress which she had requested. Just go to a different tailor! You are pretty much guaranteed to get better customer service elsewhere. read more

I brought a pair of jeans and a blazer here on separate occasions, and each time the experience was absolutely perfect. They are able to maintain the original cuff of the pants when hemming by reattaching it to the bottom after removing the excess fabric. This method really preserves the look of pricey jeans and it's almost impossible to tell that they've been altered. They did a great job on the blazer, too. Prices are reasonable and service is friendly and oh so quick. They can work with any fabric and they also do repairs, which is good if you're accident-prone and clueless about sewing, as I am. I don't bring things here as often as I probably should - it's amazing how a great fit can really change the look of your clothes. read more

I got two sport coats tailored here. They did not take in the area I wanted them to and took in the arm pit area. I tried to explain to them what they did and have it fixed, but they played dumb. If you try to explain how they did something wrong, they act like they can't understand you. They also tried to blame the mess up on the poor sewers in the back instead of their actual tailoring ability. They do not understand how clothes are supposed to properly fit someone, which is what a tailor is supposed to be able to do. Prices are way too high as well. There are great tailor shops around and much lower prices. No idea why these guys get so much good press! I paid to have my clothes ruined! read more

If it was possible, this place would get a zero star rating from me. Unfortunately, I had to put at least 1 start to post this comment. TERRIBLE!!!!! DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!!!!!! They lost my bridesmaids dress and they don't care! They are not admitting to losing it, or offering to pay for a new one. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE! They even had the nerve to tell me to go check my closet.... ARE YOU KIDDING ME, CHECK MY CLOSET? I DROPPED MY DRESS OFF AT YOUR STORE AND YOU LOST IT! However, somehow, they do know that nobody else took it- but they can't find it or know where it is. RUDE is the name of their customer service game. Also- note that their in store cameras are fake. You know, the two that are blinking blue. So they conveniently cannot go back on their cameras to prove that my dress is somewhere in their store, and not in my closet, as they suggest. AGAIN DO NOT GO HERE! Maybe easy access at the mall, BUT NOT WORTH IT! .... now off to buy a new bridesmaids dress with my own money. read more

This place was recommended to me by the Jos. A. Bank at the mall after I bought two suits there. Jos. A. Bank told me their tailor would take about three weeks to get my suits back to me, but that Lee's could have it done quickly and at a reasonable price. All I needed was two pairs of pant legs hemmed my jacket sleeves lengethed a quarter inch. When I picked up the suits they gave me a bill for $70! I didn't request a rush order or anything like that, but just their regular service. Not only this, but my pants legs were about a 3/4 inch too short despite the owner insisting that they were perfect. I ultimately had to bring the pants to another tailor to have them redone. I also agree with some of the other reviews that the owners were quite rude and have poor customer service skills. Shame on Jos. A Bank for recommending them! read more

I don't think I would bring specialty work here, but for a basic hem or shirt fitting they get the job done. Prices are very reasonable and the work is always done on time. Have brought many items here and have always been satisfied. I will say to pay close attention to where they pin your clothes - they tend to leave things a bit longer and looser than I like so I sometimes have to ask them to tweak the pinning a bit. read more

They hemmed the sleeves on a suit jacket ($16) and a pair of dress pants ($7). They had them done in two days and they fit. The staff was friendly. This was a fairly simple job, that's why only the 4 stars. Not sure how they would do with a more complicated task. read more

Horrible place. First time I dropped my jeans they made it too short. Figured I would give them another chance. Next time I dropped my pants off and I get a call saying there is a hole in them therefore we cannot tailor it. Consistently, the most reliable tailor I've come across in the Triangle. Kwang and her team are always friendly, courteous, and offer rush jobs when requested. Like most services of this type, you do have to be very specific about what you want to get the best results. I have been going to Lee's for almost 10 years. When I first was looking for a tailor the first place someone pointed out to me was Lee's. Every pair of pants and suit jackets I have was tailored by them. From dress pants, to khakis, you name it, they've done it all for me. My wedding attire was also tailored by them in 2013 and it still fits. What I love best is how fast they can have it done. From one day to however you need. I've never had a bad experienced. Just like a barber shop, I go to the same person for a haircut and in the same since, when I go to Lee's, I look for the same person to pin my clothes for tailoring because she gets it right EVERY SINGLE TIME and I love it. She's cool and down to earth. Been knowing her for years now too. Actually, its 10/03/18 and I just left their from picking up some more pants. This is a great spot for all your needs. For those of you who have not been in a while, they now have 2 computers to make check in more speedy. weekend (esp. late afternoon) lines still wind out the door, but I have never waited more than 15 mins. I think the customer service is a little brisk, but never rude or unfriendly. They always ask the "regulars" (of whom I am not) how are their families, etc. But always cordial to me. Took daughter's bride's maid dress there and did a great job with a halter top and back with multiple colors - too complicated for me. It was a perfect fit on a complex job. Under $20 and the bridal salon would have been twice that. read more

Hey Guys, I think the best way to describe them, and I've heard high end retail store personnel describe them this way, is "hit or miss". I had one suit jacket tailored pretty well. However the second suit jacket was a horrible experience. I'm not sure why the seamstress wasn't able to figure it out, but the jacket shoulder was jagged in the seam and there was a wave and fold leading into the collar. I tried it on during several trips and they could see there was something wrong but couldn't figure it out. I was empathetic and stayed for 2 hours at a time as they would take it in the back and bring it back out with no success. They first told me to wear it and see how it felt, and to come back if I felt it needed more work. I knew it wasn't okay to wear but due to sheer fatigue I took it. I brought it back and they changed the story, they began using excuses like it needed to be dry cleaned. They kept steaming the shoulder to try to make up for the fact that there was too much fabric there folding. The jacket is a wool/silk blend and they ruined the sheen in the areas they kept steaming. They would also begin telling me how great it looked before I even put it on, trying to pump me up so I would leave and they would keep there 80 dollars. I stayed respectful and honest and explained that there was a jagged seam and wavy fold at the shoulder that led into the collar. When the lady took it back once, the owner, an older man came out and literally started screaming at me like he was insane. He said that they did too much work on it and that I had to leave. They all saw that they couldn't fix the mistake they made on the jacket and out of frustration started yelling at me like it was my fault. I explained that I've spent hours on end waiting for this and driving from Raleigh in order to give them my business because I was content with the last jacket they worked on. I asked them not to get mad at me or act as if any of it was my fault. The man wouldn't stop screaming and eventually his wife also became rude, like a total 180 from the previous times I had been there. She was following his lead and began telling me off. I eventually asked the male owner who had stormed off after doing "his job" of trying to yell me out of the store, to come back so I could talk to him. I explained that his job is to deal with these tensions and while its unfortunate that his seamstress has spent time on the item, it still isn't wearable, none of which is my fault. I explained that I pay for the final product, and that my time by the hour is worth much more than theirs, so it had cost me far more money to spend so many hours there on multiple occasions. He said the seamstress is getting angry and that is why he came out angry. I asked him if his job is to take the aggression in the back of the store and project it on to the customer, or if his job is to help people relax. I came back one other time to request my money back because I have to go to another tailor to fix their mistakes. The wife of the owner pretended she couldn't give it to me with a million excuses: she isn't allowed to write the checks, the check book is at home, she can't go negative in the cash register, she can't credit my credit card because the transaction is already through. She said I should come back and talk to her husband (the guy who had already yelled at me like I was his unloved child). I asked if she could call him...surprise surprise he was on "vacation". This was the 20th lie these folks had told me. I insisted that I had to travel and couldn't spend double money on a tailor so they would have to reimburse me before I could drop the item off and leave town for work. She called her husband and he got on the phone and went craaaazzzzy again. He would ask me a question then yell at me. I asked if I could answer any of the questions he was asking me and explained it had been 5 minutes and I hadn't gotten any words in. I finally explained that if they would give me my money back for the bad work that was done I wouldn't have to become active and warn others that this can happen at their store. He played tough and here I am. I disputed it with my credit card as I explained I would do, and the credit card company has credited me back. If they dispute, I have a high end retail tailor who has written a letter informing me of what is wrong with the jacket and what they would do to fix it. That is all the dispute department needs to make sure I keep my money. So in closing, if you have read this novel, be careful. Hit or miss...they may do okay work if the stars are aligned. However, if you don't like something they have done based on the wrong seamstress being there, or just a mistake that they can't figure out in the back, they will see you as the enemy and try to emotionally destroy you until you leave with less money and a poorly tailored product. read more

Do not take a suit here!! I bought a suit and needed it tailored. All they did was shorten the sleeves of the jacket, take in the waist of the pants and hem the pant legs. First of all, they did not take in enough of the waist. They also hemmed the cuffs way too high and uneven! The jacket was also too bulky still and needed to be taken in, but they didn't do that either. I took it to Chang's to be redone. She is super nice and we had a good laugh that Lee's hemmed one pant leg shorter than the other. She did a fantastic job and was about the same price. read more

Prices are reasonable and the customer service is great! Location is convenient, but can be little tricky to find for a new customer. It is inside the mall next to the downstairs JCPenny entrance. Not sure of why all the negative reviews. They do a great job for the price. As for customer service, its pretty standard---they answer your questions and tell you what they think need done. It's a tailor shop not shopping at Saks, so obviously what do you expect?? But everyone I've interacted with has been courteous and helpful and I never feel rushed or unwelcome. I also like how they have a quick turnaround time and like another reviewer said, if you keep your ticket and go home and realize you want something re-altered, you can take it back in. Definitely one of the best tailor/alterations shops in the Triangle area. Recently moved down from New York where I used a couple of very good tailors, and these guys were just as good as either of them. I brought in several items - jeans, a blazer and a suit - and they did a great job with each. The blazer required a little bit of work, but they were very good in terms of working with me to ensure I got what I wanted.
