My boyfriend and I made an appointment at Tan's to get a suit that was too big altered. The woman who helped us was very informative and honest when telling us that he would be better off sizing down on a new suit entirely. We really appreciated that they did not try to alter the suit that would not have turned out how we were envisioning! Despite not making any money from the consultation. Located next to the exit doors by the checkouts in Kroger you'll find this little tailor shop. I brought in a pair of jeans to get some patches done. The first thing I noticed is how clean and tidy the shop is. At a sewing machine sat a lovely woman and at the desk next to her a man. Both are very kind and soft spoken. As someone else mentioned, you must pay in advance for services, and cash only. The advance payment made me a little nervous as a first time customer, but I really needed these jeans patched. I was told it would take a week until they were done. Guess they're busy! I was pleased to receive an email two days earlier that they were done. While the patching was done cleanly I have a high standard of my mother's expert patching to compare it to, but I think this will suffice. read more

Cute little tailor shop tuck inside Kroger. The owner is so friendly and knowledgeable. She is really good and the convenience location is always a plus. I just drop my clothes off and pick it up next time I go groceries shopping. I had a hole in my FAVORITE shirt and after taking it there, I couldn't even tell where the hole was. I went to inquire about the price of fixing loose elastic on one of my sleeve. I got shock of my life not about the price but the way this "gentleman " said to me. To tighten the elastic it was $7 I said can you do it for $5? He said what do you think we sit here all day doing nothing ? All he had to say no I can not do it for $5. I met the super lovely woman/owner, who told me I could save my $ instead of getting a dress shortened. I brought in a strapless bridesmaid dress, got dressed in their cute dressing room, and hopped up on the tailor's box in front of the mirror. Don't be fooled, this place has all the accoutrements of a tailor shop-- right in your friendly neighborhood Kroger! She helped adjust my dress and suggested that a push up bra would both enhance the look and preclude the need for tailoring. I'm always really appreciative when business owners suggest alternatives that are not in their best financial interest out of kindness and honesty. THANK YOU! I needed two pairs of dress pants shortened on short notice after I decided I couldn't wear heels again on a business trip. I never thought to use this unassuming tailor shop inside Kroger, but after I read positive reviews and realized it was open later than most other local shops, I dropped off my two pairs of dress pants on Monday evening. I needed them done by Thursday afternoon at the latest, and I was pleasantly surprised when I received the email less than 24 hours later that they were done. I'm happy with both the quality of the alterations as well as the customer service. The pricing was very reasonable - $9 for one pair and $12 for the other pair that had a lining. I will definitely be returning next time I need a tailor. read more

I recently needed to get some nice (spendy) jeans hemmed up due to the fact that I am short and jeans are made for people 20 feet tall. I was worried that they might make them too short. During the measuring/fitting, he initially made them shorter than I wanted but I asked they not go too short. Once they were done, they fit perfectly. Not too short and not too long. My family and I have been coming here for years to alter all sorts of articles from dresses to down coats and each time I am impressed with the quality and detail of their workmanship! Reasonable prices too! The professionalism and good-hearted nature of the sweet Vietnamese couple is always evident with each interaction I have with them. I came in once with a formal gown and they spent over an hour with me helping me decide what design to alter the straps to--a generous amount of time for something so simple! This tailor shop is wonderful! I had an ornate bridesmaid dress that needed to be fixed fast and the tailor did it for me in the same day. I told her my situation and she was so sweet to accommodate. I have gotten a few items tailored at this shop before with the work done quickly and well. Two things of note: the first time I came to the shop to get a waistband taken in, I accidentally left my credit card. They called me right away, and I said I would stop by in an hour or two to get it. When I arrived, not only was my card there, but my pants were ready a day earlier than promised "so that I didn't have to come back another time." Second, I recently came in with my daughter to see about getting a dress of hers tailored. After looking at it, we were told that it probably just needed some ironing out -- this was done in the store and they had my daughter try on the dress again. Because of some piping on the dress, it was going to be hard to alter -- the tailor suggested double-sided tape to keep the top from gapping as an easier solution, which is what we did. This was probably about 10 min worth of consultation for which we were charged nothing. Excellent customer service, and I greatly appreciated the time and honest assessment. read more

I highly recommend this tailor shop! They are amazing! I brought a bridesmaid dress in to get altered and a pair of shorts that needed a new zipper. They were so professional, reasonably priced and super fast! 48 hours from drop off to pick up. Her work is impeccable, I cannot even tell where the alterations were made. Very quick and professional. Reasonable rates. Convenient location. I brought in a few pairs of dress slacks to be taken in, and the tailor recommended (correctly) that the inseam should be taken in as well. A week later, I brought in a few more pairs of slacks to have cuffed and suspender buttons added. In both cases, the work was done quicker than promised, with no "added" charges. No surprises, unless you consider excellent service a surprise. read more
