My wife found Quick Fix Tailors on Yelp and we have to agree, the five-star reviews for this alterations shop are spot-on. This place is great. The business certainly lives up to the name "Quick-Fix." My wife's visits have been lightning quick, almost scary quick. It helps that this place is close to our home in Chapel Hill. She can zip back and forth in a matter of minutes. Quick-Fix is located on the 2nd floor of a two-story brick office building across the street from Food Lion. The space is simple, clean, and professional looking. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the lady that works here wears a mask and only allows one customer inside the store at a time. My wife always feels very safe during her visits. She had the sleeves on two white coats taken in and the legs on two pairs of scrubs pants shortened. The total cost was $42 even. She also had the sides of a shirt taken in for $15. Everything was ready as promised in less than a week. They text when items are ready for pickup. I think their timing is flexible given how much work they have, so if you need something rushed, I think they will work with you. While I don't have a whole lot of experience with tailors (when I find one I like, I stay very loyal to them), Quick-Fix is the first I've noticed that you can also contact via email: contact@quickfixtailors.com. Call or email them to confirm COVID-19 hours. I know they closed early at 4pm on weekdays instead of their regular 6pm time during my wife's visits. One of the most pleasant and efficient tailors I've ever been to. They have a couple of nice, clean changing rooms, and I'm typically in and out in under 10 minutes, even if there's a long line. The owner really hustles, but does so while being incredibly kind and providing exceptional customer service. I've had shorts and a bridesmaid dress tailored, and both turned out great. Prices are not the cheapest, but I think they're still very fair and reasonable. For more difficult garments (ex. bridesmaid dress), the lead time can be two weeks, but it was communicated clearly even before I tried on the dress which I appreciated. They have a texting system to let you know when your garment is done and reminders after it's ready as well. read more

I've been to a tailor for things like dress hemming but have never been for things like holes in clothes. I got a hole in my favorite Levi's and didn't want to just throw them away, so after looking at reviews I took them here. They told me since the rip wasn't on a seam that they would have to patch it instead of sew it, so I was pretty nervous but didn't really have any other options. Both had a style that required an expert hand to alter in a manner that would maintain the original look of the pants (one pair has piping, etc.). I have never gotten a pair of jeans hemmed so I didn't know where to go for this type of work. My wife, who's more familiar with alterations, always goes to a place in Chapel Hill but I didn't want to travel that far. Due to some laziness, the jeans that I needed altered sat in my closet for about 6 months. I finally consulted Yelp and found a place close by. I was feeling adventurous so I picked a place with no reviews [on Yelp]. Quick-Fix Tailors seemed like a good place. It was convenient and legit looking. When you walk in you'll see the counter with clothes behind it waiting for pickup. You'll also see a couple of stations with mirrors for taking measurements. I was quickly instructed to put the jeans on and brought to one of the mirrors. The jeans were pinned to find the right height. Everything was done very courteously and quickly. I was told that the jeans would be ready in 3 days and that they'd text me when they were ready. I actually got that text message the next day so they were quicker than I expected. When I picked up the jeans I tried them on and they fit perfectly so I was a happy customer; all for under $10. I can't vouch for their other services (such as dry cleaning) but they do hem jeans quite well. The staff members are professional and friendly. Quik-Fix Tailor is superb, I recommend them highly for both basic and advanced tailoring needs. I took two bridesmaid's dresses there during April - a busy month due to prom and upcoming wedding season - and the dresses were done in one week. Jenny is lovely, she is professional and personable, and the work done was perfect. I was especially happy because I needed some real magic worked on what was a standard bridesmaid dress to fit my curves. In fact, I went there on a coworker's recommendation because she had to be fit for a bridesmaid's dress when she was several-months pregnant and she was very happy with her dress, and I figure that level of tailoring takes considerable skill. The prices are also great: $18 for taking in the shoulder $20 starting price for taking in the waist $35 for one layer of hemming, $45 for two It was $152 total for my two bridesmaid dresses. Definitely a great value. A friend needed two simple straps taken in for another dress and it was $10. I believe she takes walk-ins but I recommend a quick phone call to make an appointment, especially if you want to come after work before she closes at 6. Jenny suggested giving the process a couple weeks if possible so I could come back in for a second fitting if necessary, but she is such a good listener and so thoughtful in the way she tailors that it was perfect the first time. read more

I had three winter skirts hanging unworn in my closet for several years because they were too long for today's fashions. Finally after an internet search I realized that Quik-Fix Tailors was about a mile and a half from home in Woodcroft. I took the skirts, tried them on to have the hems marked, and the owner suggested he hem them a little longer than my initial request. He said they would shorten them if I wished when I returned to pick them up. He was right; I decided to leave them the length they recommended.
