Soooo trying out this "viral" biscoff coffee and it's at the Berryessa location now thought it would be hella good but....it was mid 8/10....will I get it again....maybe.

This used to be one of the best sandwiches Lee sandwiches in San Jose . My stomach hurts just know I was seconds away of eating a fly I can feel the maggots now. Shame on yourself these sandwiches.

    Checking out Lee's in Berryessa!

I stumbled upon Lee's Sandwiches on my way to SJC airport while the kiddos wanted Taco Bell that was tight beside it. I have heard about Lee's, especially their coffee, but have never been to one until now. Located off the Berryessa exit on 680, it's has sufficient parking and signage that you can't miss it. The place is big, clean and lots of offerings. There is a dine in area with a wide screen TV to watch. As you walk in there is a mini mart of vietnamese goods. The gentleman at the register was very helpful as I asked about the sandwiches. In the end, I stuck with my favorite Pork and Pate combo, #11 on the menu. It's the only sandwich that you can purchase as a half too. I noticed a rice wrapped item on a warmer, and was told it was stuffed with ground beef in it. Out of curiosity, I bought one. My order would not be complete if I didn't get Lee's famous iced coffee! The sandwich is definitely 2 servings, and was good. I just wished that there was a little more pate than just a smear. The rice item was warm delicious! It was like a sticky rice you find at a dimsum place without being wrapped in a leaf. It was so good that I forgot to take a picture. Iced coffee is strong and sweet, as expected from a Vietnamese coffee. I added more ice to dilute it for my taste. Although they have several locations in Northern CA, mostly are in the San Jose (South Bay) area while there are 3 locations in the SF Bay Area. I will definitely come back and try other items on the menu.

It's been a while since we've eaten Lee's Sandwiches after moving to Northern California since we don't have any in our little town. We ordered 2 Grilled pork and BBQ pork sandwiches....OFF THE HOOK GOOD!!!!! Salty sweet combination with the crisp veggies and fresh French baguettes leaves me craving Lee's more often.

Service was amazing, super fast. A few people here, like a steady 5 or 6 coming and going. They have lots of snacks here and candies too. Plenty of drinks in the cooler to choose from. They have 3 large tvs playing various channels, right now its the morning news 23 bucks for breakfast and lunch for me today. The place was very clean and open layout which was nice.

I have been to Lee's several times in the past when I lived in this area. I am not a sandwich fan but I enjoy the Asian twist on these baguette sandwiches. I got a chicken sandwich this time around. The veggies were fresh and crisp with the cucumbers providing a cooling effect against the fiery jalapeno slices. The chicken was tough though as was the bread itself. It took some effort to chow it down. I didn't enjoy the hard chicken much. The store/cafe has some aisles of Asian groceries and some tables as well. They also have some prepackaged fresh food like noodles, rolls, rice etc for a quick grab and go at very reasonable prices.

Anytime I am in the San Jose area I have to make a stop at Lees Sandwiches. They have a huge selection of Vietnamese and European sandwiches. Today I tried the vegan fried chicken sandwhich, what I love a lot about lees if their fresh baked bread. The sandwich was super fresh, love biting into the hot fried "chicken" mixed with the cucumbers, pickled carrots and daikon and fresh jalapeño. It was the perfect mix of fresh, spicy and flavorful.

It's a Lees ... but we know they can vary. Good quality from this one the visits I have done this year since I discovered it. I go with the Special Combo with pate. This one has a good interior as well.

Picked up a sandwich for my mom. She only likes their grilled pork banh mi with no mayo or soy sauce. She can never get tired of them, as she says. The bread is always crunchy. The vegetables are fresh, and the pork is slightly sweet and nicely marinated. I flip flop between this one and their combination banh mi.

Fresh Baguette Swung by to grab some fresh baguettes to pair with our dinner but they only had long baguettes when we arrived. Nevertheless, the bread had a crunchy exterior and soft interior. Nice and warm. We did take a couple nibbles as we drove back home with it, ahah. $2 for a long baguette

This place is right by my house and it's so convenient when you need to pick up a quick lunch or coffee. Sometimes if I'm not feeling a bánh mì, I'll get something from their counter. Might depend on the day but they have a variety of plates of food: bánh cuốn, pork vermicelli, rice plate, spring rolls, some desserts too. The bánh cuốn and vermicelli would be my go-tos (although I wish they put more filling in the bánh cuốn, sometimes it's mainly rice noodle roll). This time for dinner, I picked up vermicelli, spring rolls, and sugarcane juice! Also like the beef stew, very flavorful and hits the spot when you dip the bread in it. Their coffee is what got me hooked onto viet coffee, can't go wrong with it and you can buy it by the bottle from their fridge to make at home yourself! They also have ném in the fridge and that's my fave too. One of the managers/owners work there and he's super friendly and nice, very welcoming to everyone. He helps out with making drinks because they're short staffed sometimes.

Under normal circumstances, I love this place. This time, there was a rubber band in my sandwich. Pro tip: rubber bands don't taste good.

Portions are huge and one sandwich is plentiful which can be easily shared among two people for sure. Nowadays, the experiences aren't the same anymore and perhaps, it's been under new people management or something. It's been lacking some logistics and sometimes, it's difficult to hear the order being called out while lots of customers are inside. I told the front staffs that I wanted my portobello chicken sandwich $15.99 and the watermelon beverage $7.99 for here/dine-in. I even left them over $3.50 tips here. While everyone else picked up their orders very fast, mine was stuck somewhere in between others. They all got table numbers except me. I even asked if I needed a table number since I was planning to dine-in, but nobody answered or wanted to respond. They were too busy preparing sandwiches. Wait time to receive order was a bit over 15 minutes. I ended up standing around waiting and waiting, thinking about why I even tipped the place when my anxiety levels were escalating. Without a table number, how would they even know which table outside to deliver my orders to? Portobello chicken sandwich was very good though. Ingredients are full. Ciabatta bread was huge. This thick sandwich can definitely feed two people. Watermelon beverage tasted good too. Tables weren't all wiped down outside, but I can see the few employees hustling and bustling. It's still a strange feeling to not have a table number assigned to me while others did have one. Overall, sandwiches are still good and portions are generous. People love coming here. I think the staffs need more management briefing. They are all hardworking, but the front counter service leaves an impression and feeling about the overall experiences here.

It's nice to see owners work at times and treat their customers so genuinely! So thank you, Chris! The store is honestly decorated so well. There's details everywhere on the wall, and it's all dedicated to San Jose culture and first responders. The ambiance felt local and cool. Now for the food, my husband ordered the Build Your Own Sub with Pastrami and it was delicious! I ordered their new and off the menu French Dip sub with aus ju and IT WAS SO GOOD. Highly recommend to get it now while they have it! Special notes: - All subs are served hot! - They have a hot sauce bar with unique sauces all leveled off from (1-10). 1 = mild and 10 = spiciest! Nothing to brag about, don't let the sando sit around. Make sure you finish it all at once or it will get soggy... may be its because of the oil and vinegar dressing I opted for? Not sure... The wheat bread is a tad too sweet for my liking and the white bread is just plain and flavorless. I do wish they provided options like Sourdough or Dutch Crunch, which also happen to be healthier for you. I wanted to complain that they were expensive but then realized that's how it is everywhere now. That food inflation is no joke... I'd stop by if nothing was around. Not so sure I need to try other items on the menu.
