One of the oldest restaurants in the area, this place has been serving customers since 1983. I can understand why the reviews are mixed. The restaurant hasn't been renovated in a very long time, but it has a loyal customer base. While we were there, we saw several regulars who proudly support the restaurant because it has become a tradition for them over the years. We tried the chicken garlic wings, honey walnut prawns, and pork fried rice, along with the complimentary tea. The food was tasty, the portions were satisfying, and the service was friendly and attentive. If you're looking for ambience, this may not be the place. But if you appreciate long-standing family-run restaurants with good food, it's definitely worth a visit. 41 years ruined by new ownership. Called in a take out order, new woman answered. Upon pick up, I noticed the booths in the dining room were gone, so obviously something more has changed. Prices were significantly more, like $5 more for the same combo as a year ago.... Okay, everything is going up. She brings out my order in a plastic lunch container, I look at her dumbfounded and say I ordered the number 10 dinner combo, and it should be 4 boxes of food, and it's incredibly light. She assures me it's what I ordered. I get out to the truck and peek inside, and there is about 3/4 of the normal food and only a small scoop of fried rice. I walked back in and asked, yup new ownership as of 7 months ago. I point to my T-Ball picture from 1987 on the wall and express my displeasure with the changes. -Red sauce was gelatinous and appeared to have been thawed -Soy Sauce is a different brand, Lucky (I loved the Double High brand, salty not sweet) -BBQ Pork is now bright red, no lacquer glaze, dry and sliced way too thick -Sesame Chicken has no sesame seeds in the batter -Pork Fried Rice has only the smallest flecks of bbq pork, dry and very small portion. -Fried Shrimp was the closest to previous, but still seemed off. Not sure I will be back. I'm heart broken as my hometown Chinese place of 41 years just died a silent death while I wasn't looking. I grew up with the previous owners son and although change is never easy we thank the Lee's for all the wonderful food and wish them a happy retirement. As for the new ownership, get your sh!t together or you'll never survive. $20 for the same combo I've been ordering for decades is laughable. Yay Lee's brought back quite a few original menu items. The food was good. The place is clean and rearranged. I'll definitely be going back. I had been going to Lee's for many many years and was a little saddened by some of the changes that the new owners decided to make. I'm very happy that they brought back some of the old schools menu items. Especially sesame, chicken and sweet-and-sour spareribs. The prices are higher, but not unreasonable in fact, a bargain compared to a lot of restaurants and you get more food and it's good . If you gave up on them, with the changes that came with new ownership, consider giving them another try I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. The service was friendly. It was fast. I love what the new owners have done. Even just the rearranging of the dining rooms gives it a freshness. The servers are now top-notch. We've been coming here for the better part of 35 years--ever since I was a little kid--and I'd say the food here has never been better. The pork fried rice is crave-able, and the addition of crab Rangoon to the plates was a very welcome surprise. I have been visiting Lees Kitchen for over 30 years. It's always been a place my family and I loved getting take out from. So much so, that I drive the 30 minutes just to get take out now that I've moved. I haven't been in awhile (I'm a new mom), and I decided to get my favorite combination dinner. It comes with 4 items and they used to be individually boxed, it would come with these crunchy noodles (my favorite!) ... when I tell you, they have ruined my evening ... lol they now put everything in one box (about half the portion size) and increased the price; and NO crunchy noodles. The rice is different and I'm just soooo disappointed. I'm sad to say after over 30 years, I probably will not be back again. I probably wouldn't waste my money on this again. Big sigh.... We had an AMAZING first experience but when we wanted to have this again we decided on take out. Huge mistake??? The food was night and day difference almost like a whole different restaurant. We were very sad and disappointed. The fried rice was dry and felt like days old. The move here might be to dine in only if you're going to give them a go. I've been coming here for years, my dad and I always get the house lo mein and split it. It has to be one of my all time favorite pleasure meals that I don't have often! We always get it for takeout so we call ahead and order and they are always very friendly and quick. I can't speak on anything else on the menu (except the kung pow chicken that's very good as well) but overall I love this place and will always come back through the years. read more

My family had been going to Lee's since they opened in the 80's. Prior to it being Lee's Chinese it was a Mexican restaurant, I think Zapata's or something like that - definitely aging myself and I went to the original Tualatin Elementary, remember there being a DQ and Jiggles! Also, Pop Shop Pop! Anyway, it sucks getting older! Super sad the new owners killed the old menu. The Sesame Chicken, Pea pod chow-yuk, egg rolls or Family Dinner B- were our staples. The Luncheon Specials were amazing! We have been going to Lees for several years. Now under new owners- food is worse, portions are much smaller, prices have increased a lot- combo plate that used to be $11 is now almost $18 with smaller portions. Some menu items have been eliminated including sweet and sour spareribs. Sweet and sour sauce is generic. Red sauce looked like it had been frozen and then thawed in little cup-taste was awful. Fried shrimp was not good. Very disappointing overall. Will not be going g back again. So sad. read more

ive been going to lees kitchen for at least 30 years and always loved the food, i got some a few days ago and the food is horrible, found out it has new ownership. the food all thrown into one box, ii t tasted terrible .the bbq pork is dry and tough, it looks like the kind you buy in grocery store. shrimp didnt llook cooked all the way and chow mein just a big mushy mess, the egg fu yung didnt even have any gravy , just a small bit over the patty. not going back! read more

What on earth happened to Lee's?!!?? This has consistently been the best Chinese food in the area for 30+ years but that has all changed. Clearly new management or ownership. Raise the prices, change the containers, rearrange the menu, reduce portions but do not change the actual food!! Drove from Wilsonville only to be extremely disappointed. The #6 was terrible! The fried rice was edible but everything else was just gross. Like not finished & thrown in the trash gross. The cream cheese crab wontons were decent but even the red sauce for dipping is different. What happened? We always get to go orders. I've ordered basically the same things for 40 plus years. Dry, horrible pork, dry tasteless fried rice. The subgum chow mein tasted old, we did not finish this meal. I heard under new owner!? Any new owner knows you never change what is selling and what doesn't you remove from menu and you start to add New items. UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT! Unfortunately, it is not good. Menu has changed and recipes have changed! If you loved their bbq pork or sweet sour sauce it is no longer the same. What was great about the bbq was the glaze they used that left a nice caramel color full of flavor is now the bright red color you see at every other Chinese restaurant. The same is true with sweet and sour sauce it is the bright red sauce and not the sauce that has been used since the 1980's. Many items are missing from the menu such as Szechuan beef! Very disappointed that they have chosen cheaper ways to prepare their food instead of the traditional recipes they have used for years. read more

Have been going to Lee's for years. Now sadly have a new owner. Use to love the fried shrimp, now I don't think it's real shrimp at all, has the taste and texture of a rubber band. We have been coming to Lees Kitchen for years. We found them after Hi Hat closed. We had heard that there was new management recently. Since then the food has definitely changed and not for the better. Why would they change when the food was good? Fried shrimp crust was hard. Brocolli was not fresh, and to top it off we really miss the old egg rolls. This is just to name a few. I hate to think we have to find a new Chinese restaurant but hunt is on. read more

Lee's Kitchen has been a mainstay in Tualatin for many years. They always gave large portion dishes for a fair price. Sorry to say all of this changed after the recent purchase of Mr. Lee's restaurant by a new owner. Not only did the menu suffer a major downsizing but the portion size as well, and of course the pricing escalated. Also the food quality (taste) suffered in my view as well becoming an average fair rather than the excellent taste I always expected and received with my take out orders. My favorite dishes were the house rice, fried shrimp, and Kung Pao Chicken. The shrimp now is completely different using a smooth coating (Tempura?) and the house rice now has beef and is drier in taste--The Kung Pao is still good but the size portion has really reduced in size. Overall I would now rate my favorite takeout meal as average overall. I hope the owner has a chance to read this and reflect upon my words as over the years I have been a regular and am now in the search of a better alternative. read more

Used to really like their sesame chicken, but my last two visits something has changed. It's become very tough and chewy instead of lightly breaded moist soft chicken. I always get to go as I'm coming back into town so I'm not sure how their service or ambience is. This was a fairly mediocre dining experience. The service was slow and the inside of the restaurant was a little dirty. The food was unimpressive. I had the sesame chicken. It was dry and the sauce lacked flavor. I didn't even have enough sauce to coat the measly bit of chicken I did get. The serving size was fairly small and left me still hungry.
