I love this place. I have been going there for years!! In my opinion, their food is wonderful. I am MSG sensitive and their food has never affected me. They will accommodate your requests. They really care if you are happy. The place is simple but clean and nicely decorated. The folks that operate it are really nice too. I highly recommend this restaurant. read more

I come here for classic Chinese-American staples at good lunch prices. The food is generally well-prepared but limited by that old school profile (white sauce/brown sauce, neon red sweet and sour, etc.). Sleeper standouts include fried dishes, especially the General Tso chicken, fluffy fried rice, and the hot and sour soup, which is, surprisingly, the best I've had anywhere, with a good punch of vinegar. I would avoid if you're looking for seafood, a less Americanized menu, or house-made BBQ pork or similar. Great place to eat in if you don't mind a dive and want to be alone on your lunchbreak like me--otherwise takeout is standard. read more

Ying Bun Restaurant - General chicken, pork fried rice, hot and sour soup - Chinese Near Me - West Linn, Oregon

The chicken chow mein is very good! Tasty Sweet and Sour Pork! Small strip mall restaurant with very reasonable lunch menu!

We didn't know our way around West Linn and tried Ying Bun based on their Yelp reviews. We were glad we did! The sweetest lady waited on us and the food was great! We'll definitely go back! read more

Simple American Chinese food served with no fuss at a fair price. Lunch special was $10 to $10.50. Service was fast, friendly and efficient. read more

I have been coming to this restaurant for years. The food has always been great and friendly service. Well not today. The food was awful. It's like they changed a couple recipes or are going cheap on ingredients. I asked a question about an item and the lady got mad at me for asking about ingredients. We told her our experience last time was bad because of the food wasn't the same. She thought I was trying to get something for free and was trying to argue with me. I wasn't even talking to her but she just raged on. I will not be going again. read more

The food is delicious. It's just basic Chinese, but, yummy. And the people are so nice. They will let you know ahead of time if the order will take a little longer than normal. read more

We have been visiting this restaurant for as long as I can remember. The food is amazing, and the staff is so friendly. They remember their customers, and always have a welcoming smile. Love Ying Bun! read more

Got take out- two beef dishes. Both super gross. Do not recommend, it literally was so bad I threw up afterwards. Undercooked, tons of oil, super sugary sauce. read more

All I need to say is that the food here is amazing and tastes so delicious in my opinion. My family has been coming to this local restaurant for a few years now and I love the food here and the customer service. I know it seems like a hole in the wall restaurant but to me it's amazing and my favorite place to eat when I have the craving for Chinese food and that is all the time. Right now it is a drive for me to get there but soon I will be moving a little closer to Yingbun and I am so excited to go and get my favorite food. read more

We were looking for Chinese food in West Linn area and this place popped up on Yelp. Our group (of 6) called and found out they were open for dine in. We made a reservation online and they had tables put together and set for us when we got there. It's kind of a hole in the wall place, that does a lot of take out, so they had boxes stacked in the back of the restaurant for large to go orders. The employee was extremely friendly and courteous. She took care of our every need. All of us agreed that the food was pretty good and plentiful. The hot and sour soup was great! We all agreed that we would be back!! read more

This little hole in the wall on Willamette is within walking distance from where I used to live. We loved their fried prawns, low mein and hot and sour soup. We also love the price. Don't think you can find good food cheaper in this neck of the woods. This is strictly a "To-Go" restaurant, with zero ambiance or preferable seating. read more

Ying Bun is our favorite Chinese restaurant! We will be going here as long as we live in the area. We usually order takeout and the staff are always very friendly. The food is incredible and it's a great value for the generous portions. read more

The Very Best Chinese Food we've had. Been going here for 20 years and always great. Never a bad meal. We mainly get take out and have tradition for Thanksgiving eve and Xmas eve of Ying Bun. Owner is super sweet. Food is never greasy or oily but fresh with high quality meat/chicken and seafood items. read more

I rate this restaurant 4 stars, because the food was really good and it was very delicious. We had Broccoli Beef and Lo Mein. But there was terrible customer service! For starters, the lady at the counter kept us waiting for a very long time! Then the kitchen guy had his mask on his chin and he kept coughing. Also, the restaurant SMELLED really BAD! Luckily the food tasted nothing like the restaurant smelled. read more

Chose to order here because of the great reviews and close proximity to our home. I'm sad to say we were disappointed and will not order from this restaurant again. The lady was very nice but the look of the place inside sends the wrong message to customers. No inside seating so it's basically used for storage with boxes of things all orotund and total disrepair. It's dirty and a shambles, totally makes you wonder what the kitchen looks like. The food was equally bad, I've had better Chinese from the freezer section. Our trash can had more than we did. Thick sauces, funny and stale tasting, almost like it was left overs reheated. Sad to report this. read more

My husband and I have been looking for a new Chinese restaurant as the one we had gone to for over 40 years sold, the new owners food was horrible. Anyway we finally found it. Ying Bun was excellent, well worth the drive to West Linn from Milwaukie for a to go order. The food was so yummy and even my husband commented that he just ate the best Chicken fried rice he had ever had. We would both recommend it very highly. The Lady that got our to go order was very pleasan. We will definitely be going there again and again. read more

Its was good, good portion, lady was nice and food had good flavor. Definitely will be back!!

A hidden gem in West Linn. Delicious food and great service. Kung Pao beef was great. I look forward to making this a regular spot for local Chinese food. read more

This is the best Chinese food ever. Very friendly staff. They really care about their customers. I love their hot and sour soup. Very generous servings! read more

We eat-in and take-out at Ying Bun after comparing to other Chinese restaurants in the area (West Linn, Portland, Milwaukie, etc.) Ying Bun's foods are reliably tasty, well-prepared and fresh. Today we will be ordering the Mongolian beef, moo shu pork, and crab fried rice. The portions are good-sized, so this will feed two hungry Portlanders with some leftovers for late-night TV watching. We highly recommend trying Ying Bun next time you hunger for excellent Chinese food in the West Linn area. read more

Always greeted by a friendly staff. The food is always consistent, flavorful and great portions.

Our favorite Chinese food in the Portland area. The food is delicious, the people are super nice, and they're always happy to do substitutions for us in their combos. read more

We frequently got take out here for many years before we moved from WL. Well we are back to WL and with Covid, we hadn't been back to Ying Bun for about 3-4 years. We tried it last week and were so pleased that their food was even better than we remembered! And those working at Ying Bun are always so nice. We've tried more recently opened Asian food restaurant's in the area and they do not compare to Ying Bun! read more

They is nothing overwhelming about Ying Bun, however it is in my neighborhood. Most people will probably find their food pretty standard Chinese-American fare. So while Ying Bun is maybe not worth traveling across the Portland area to visit, it does offer decent food at decent prices. Their combination dinners are reasonable and despite being a heavy eater, I can get 2-3 meals out of one. You may be able to talk them into some substitutions as well, something a little unusual in most Chinese restaurants. I am a huge fan of the BBQ Pork Lo Mein, the Lemon Chicken, Singapore Noodles, and Sauteed Green Beans. I have no complaints about the appetizers either. Finally, the server at the front of the house will greet you with a huge smile, and is always very glad to see you. It may not be gourmet food, but I will keep coming back here. read more

We just ordered take out. What a pleasant surprise! Very yummy food, and very reasonable prices. Highly recommend!

We were hesitant to try this place because of a few bad reviews we'd read in the past. Well I wish we would've just tried it and formed our own opinion years ago. The food was delicious and the pricing can't be beat! I haven't found a Chinese restaurant that serves the traditional chow mein with the crunchy noodles in years and was so excited they had it! We ordered veggie chow mein and the flavor was amazing! Also, had the egg foo young and it was pretty good, not the best I've had but right up there. My boys had Mongolian Chicken & On Dong Chicken and they both loved their meals, tons of flavor. We definitely recommend them and will be back for sure!!! read more

Best Chinese food in west linn, 10/10 every time I go. I moved to Tigard and have yet to find a place as good, so I drive all the way to west linn for this consistently good food!!! read more

What a lovely find! Take out to actually want take out! And we've actually eater in once and the service and owner/operator interest was just dandy. My wife's out of town so I ordered a simple Shrimp with Broccoli. They suggested the port fried rice in place of the white rice and I said sure. The results are in this review and the bachelor dinner setting photo I posted. read more

Ying Bun Restaurant - This is the takeout meal I've just written about. Hello? What else?! - Chinese Near Me - West Linn, Oregon

Truly worthy of 5 stars. Szechuan Chicken, Egg Foo Yung, Chicken Chow Mein, Sweet & Sour Chicken and Pork Fried Rice were all excellent! All items were very flavorful and made with high quality fresh ingredients. Very friendly staff was careful to make sure my order was correct when placed over the phone and also when I picked it up. This is my new favorite Chinese Restaurant. read more

I've been going here since it opened many years ago. I would go pick up take out while I was working. It's your standard issue Chinese restaurant, but the food and the people are my favorite. We moved after retirement and I miss going here. Whenever I can, I have lunch here when we come back to town. Kai is the best, she always knew I wanted the Special Lo Mein, medium spicy, with hot & sour soup. read more

Ying Bun Restaurant - Hot & Sour soup w/BBQPork - Chinese Near Me - West Linn, Oregon

They are consistent in their quality and portions. This is an old time favorite! I stared going here in 2004!

I've been in this neighborhood for five years. My boyfriend has been here for 20+. Ying bun has never wavered in their consistency or quality. Five + stars. EVERY SINGLE TIME! Great quality. Great food. Great customer service. Hands down the best Chinese take out in West Linn. read more

Finally tried this place out. Got the #12. Fried shrimp, BBQ pork, general chicken, egg flower soup and rice. I think it was $10 or $11. Food was good. Portions are very big. Two people could share it. Lady working was very nice and friendly. The picture showed half of the rice and chicken. Fried shrimp was not fishy. BBQ pork was ok. Little dry but they often are in restaurants that don't make large batches. General chicken was good. I got it mild. Might have to try a tad hotter. Egg flower soup was too salty. Overall I was very happy with my food. My daughter loved it as well. Decent price and large portions. Will be coming back for more!! read more

Ying Bun Restaurant - #12 with steamed rice. Showing only half the chicken - Chinese Near Me - West Linn, Oregon

I was really hungry and decided to stop here on my way home. Soooo glad I did! The server/waitress was super friendly! I got # 6 combo to go. The egg rolls are UNREAL. The filling inside the egg roll consisted of fresh veggies and shrimp and the outside was super crunchy. Mmmmm. BBQ pork was delicious too! read more

Such a wonderful restaurant with wonderful people. We usually do take out but you can expect to receive great customer service if you dine in. Great food and great prices. My husband and his family have been going here ever since he was little and I am so happy to have been introduced to this place. We always get the sesame beef. They make it the best. If you have't tried it before, DO! You won't be disappointed. read more

General's chicken is awesome! I recommend the dinner size and you can eat the leftovers for next lunch!

Very good find! Really tasty food. The dining area exceeded our expectations because it's not a dive by any means - which is what some reviewer's have called it. Spring rolls - very good! (Loved the sauce!) General Chicken - big pieces with well made and cooked batter. Not the "best ever" but really enjoyable! String Beans with added almonds and additional garlic sauce - Wow! It was a real taste treat. Great for take out - good for sitting inside. See pictures. read more

We've been looking for a tasty Chinese place. Ordered crab puffs, spring rolls, hot and sour soup, Mongolian beef, and sweet and sour pork. The crab puffs and spring rolls were crisp and not greasy. The hot and sour soup was hotter than sour, decent. The Mongolian beef was spicy and flavorful and the sweet and sour pork was crisp and hot. The staff was attentive and efficient and the service was great. We will be eating here often. read more
