Plus they had a lot full of good condition and well priced cars. We went through the process quickly but decided to wait on finalizing taxes and tags while we decided whether to register in NC or FL. Flash forward a month. My daughter couldn't find time to get paperwork done locally (DMV really backed up) so she ran out of time with the temp tags. I came back up and asked them what they recommended, figuring they'd know the easiest way to get the reg and taxes done. They said to come on in and they'd fix me up, no charge. In and out in an hour and my kid has new temp tags waiting on the state to send permanent. Jeff is amazing and I'd be happy to give them any future business (and send my friends there). Update: Lee's has now worked with my son to get the truck back on the road. They've been very cooperative and professional. BUYER BEWARE!!! If I could give this establishment zero stars, I would. They took advantage of my young son. Sold the 21 year old kid a truck that he hasn't had a day without a problem since he got it less than 4 months ago. And yes, they knew it was a piece of junk. Bought a truck assured the only known issue was the odometer was not accurate. Started the truck to pull off the lot and Service Airbags notification was on. Went back inside to ask about it. The owner was fully aware the airbags did not work and it would be expensive to fix. His mechanics had tried and didn't know how to fix them. Told me airbags aren't that important and I shouldn't be worried about it because he had given me a good deal. Low and behold, I get a text from Nate, the salesman telling me that the manager, Debi Lee, had taken the keys and sold it from under me!! Walking in the door and on the phone, they make these big promises about having something in your budget and will gladly put a hard pull on your credit...AFTER which they'll come back and say after the fact, "By the way, you have to buy '09 or newer and fewer than 150k miles to finance with us"...left me with hurt credit and feelings...it would have been great to know those requirements beforehand...WASTE OF TIME! read more

This was the best car buying experience I have had. There was no pressure from a sales person. Everyone has encountered was polite (not the fake polite, but genuinely polite). What set Lee's apart from other dealerships is they really do want you to be pleased with your purchase. I had an issue with the Heat/AC system that I didn't note during the test drive. I am not saying they would do this for everyone and for every issue that might come up, but they looked into it and helped me get it fixed. I also want to add that they really do have a great selection. While I found what I was looking for through an internet search (and did get the vehicles I originally went there for), I had plenty of options to compare the one I wanted to help me make my decision. I showed up at 9AM with a 580 credit score and 20% down payment for a van we saw online and wanted. They had us out in an hour with about as good a loan as I could expect given my rating. I'm not a car person. When I came into Lee's, I'd never owned a car before, I had just moved to the US, and all we had was my husband's hastily acquired temporary license and some Google-knowledge. The family behind Lee's greeted us at the door, and asked what we were looking for. We gave them the scant knowledge we had, our preferences, and went to look around the lot. I was on my guard the whole time, because I went into the situation expecting to get ripped off. (That was based off of the stereotypes of car dealers that I'd heard of, and partly due to other reviews that I had seen.) We selected a vehicle that we felt would match our needs, test drove it twice, and decided to go ahead with the purchase. We were directed to Debi Oliver, who facilitated the sale. Debi was personable, answered all of our questions in great detail, explained the process very well, and above all - she was point-blank honest. She showed us the process that Lee's uses to price their cars - the price of the vehicle we wanted was on-par with other similar models elsewhere, anyway - so no haggling was required. We ended up having issues with our wire transfer, and Debi took all of my calls to update her about the process on her personal cell. She even went out of her way to try and organize a better auto insurance deal for us. Lee's provided the plates, tags, and title service - all of which came in the timeframe Debi had given us - and even shipped us a new temporary license when our original tags were stolen. It's been about two months since my purchase, and the car still runs great. There are a few kinks - the windshield wipers needed to be replaced as the ones on the car weren't effective at all, and the electrical system is a bit wonky (backup camera only works about half of the time and the digital interface that controls the radio, navigation, etc frequently shorts out, some of the doors won't unlock or respond to button commands, etc). We had to put about $700 extra into it to fix those things, but otherwise the car was fully functional. I would feel comfortable recommending Lee's and buying vehicles from them in the future. I would also advise that you go into this process with a realistic attitude - older cars will have kinks. Used cars will not be factory-floor perfect. And Lee's is a business that is looking to turn a profit - but they do it in an reasonable, honest way. read more

Did you know that expressing your opinion on Facebook regarding services you have received can get you harassed? What is the point of allowing people to review your business if you are just going to take the review down when you don't like it? And would the rest of the buying world be interested to know that if you do leave a less than complimentary review the owner of said company can call you directly and leave you harassing voice mails? Lee's Auto Center at www.leesautocenter.com does this look familiar? My last post was mistaken - it was a stolen car and that was disclosed to us, but other parts of the title and history were not. Please don't buy a car from this dealership. We discovered that the car that was sold to us was marked as JUNKED on the title, so when we went to get rid of it - no one would take it. The history of the title made it so that we could not get rid of it other than to salvage it. Our teenage son was driving an unsafe car. Any car that is marked as JUNKED is not road-worthy. Unlike cars that are marked salvage - you can clear the title and rebuild the car. But if the car is marked as JUNKED - you can't. It must be taken off the road. I really wish that had been done prior to us letting my teenage son drive an unsafe car, but it didn't - it couldn't. It was SPECIFICALLY disclosed to us that the car was not salvaged or junked. We have proof that it was and now we are totally out the cost of a car. A CAR! read more

I tried to buy a car here and when I would call with questions before I went to purchase it the employee on the phone was rude and wasn't to happy to answer my questions. The day I went to go get the car I called to give the heads up that I was on my way to purchase it and when I got there they had just got done selling the car I was coming to get to someone else. They hardly apologized and didn't do anything to offer me something else. I don't recommend this dealership. There are plenty of other dealerships around there with much better customer service. read more

It's interesting that the review on this site from Katerine J. is similar to mine and the root cause is the same sales manager Debi Lee. I made my offer on their website to buy one of vehicles at their asking price. The very next morning I called at exactly 9am, their opening time and asked to speak with the sales manager. Debi spoke with me and said there were no one interested in the vehicle at that time. I communicated that I would like to buy it over the phone at the asking price, cash with my CC, or whatever it would take. All I needed was two pics, one of the underbody and one engine compartment to ensure there were no frame rust and engine was reasonably clean for it's age. A salesman sent me one of the underbody since he already had it and I was fine with it. No further communication for about an hour and then I was told that the vehicle was sold to someone else from under me. When I asked, the conversation with Debi went along the lines of "why won't you understand that I am not selling you the vehicle! I rather sell to someone local." My feelings are the same as the other review: very unprofessional business practice and in my opinion Lee's should not advertise online outside of their Raleigh area. What's interesting is I was asked later that day if I still wanted to buy the vehicle. Out of my principle, I said I would never do business with Lee's after what happened. So, if you are looking at these reviews my guess is you want to know more about this place to make a major car purchase. In my personal opinion, if you go in and know what you want and do your research, by all means take a chance (it is a chance by the way, take a look at the other reviews). However, if you are going in blind with no knowledge, I would HIGHLY advise against it. And DO NOT let them take care of your tags, just go to the DMV yourself. Let me give you some background... My girlfriend and I went about a month ago to buy a 2011 Honda Insight at Lee's Auto Center. When I called they did that usual thing "Well, someone is coming in to take it for an emissions test" so it could have been true, it might not have been. I wanted that car though so I inspected it up and down, it had several dings and scratches on it, not to mention there was a huge crack in the windshield that no one seemed to mention when I looked at it. EITHER way that is a huge red flag, either: 1. They didn't look over the car well enough or the sales person was not informed about the condition of the car. 2. They knew about the crack and they were not going to say anything unless I noticed it- shady. So I mentioned it and I made them give me a paper in writing that they would pay for the repairs, they did follow through and I do appreciate that. My beef currently is that I paid for the taxes, tags and license fees at the dealership. It has been almost a month and I still have not received my tags. My girlfriend called a few times to ask for help regarding the issue but they VERY RUDELY brushed her off-- saying it isn't their responsibility and we just need to go to the DMV. The salesperson-- Nikki I believe her name is-- at first told my girlfriend we could have an extension on our temporary license but that "Wouldn't solve the issue" and then when I called she said "No we don't give out extensions" Which is it?? My girlfriend and I called the DMV and they said they have no record of the tags. She literally said "There is nothing we can do, I'm with a customer right now I need to go" Now, I totally understand it isn't their responsibility, I get that-- however, is it good business practice to blow off a previous customer? No! All we wanted was some guidance on how to get our tags and move forward with the problem, but they do not care at all. Not to mention when we WALKED off the lot, the lady forgot to charge us for about $2,000...we were nice enough to come back in and very politely mention that they forgot to charge us and not raise a stink about it. And now, when we need help they don't give a crap, it is really insulting. We honestly do not know anything about the procedure of receiving tags from the dealership, we just want to stay informed. There are plenty of other ways to handle the situation: To say "I do not know for sure, but I will get back to you when I am less busy and I will ask my manager about it right away" or "Here are the steps you need to take to help you...." and that literally only takes like 5 minutes to do. I UNDERSTAND the car business is all about making money and going onto the next customer, but really? This is just BAD business practice, be a little kinder to people! If you go into buy a car at Lee's Auto Center, do NOT expect any help when you call back, get everything in writing at the time of purchase. If you are someone who does not know a lot about purchasing a car, I would steer clear, go to someone you trust who will be honest. It might cost a little more but as a consumer the peace of mind is much better in the long run. I would never ever go back here to purchase another vehicle. And it is a shame because I would have suggested it to others, maybe in the future I would have taken my children, but I guess they do not care about lost business. The costumer service was a horrible experience for me. I test drove a 2004 Ford F-250 manual. First of all, the truck would not start and it had to be jumped. After it was jumped it ran smooth except that the clutch was burnt slam up and it did not want to move after getting down the road after trying multiple times. I ended up calling the owners about the situation and they sent some of the mechanics to pick me up. The mechanics that came we're very nice and understanding of the problem at hand. When we got back to the lot, they immediately started pointing fingers saying that it was my fault even though I have been driving manual transmissions all my life. The service from them was completely unacceptable and uncalled for all the disrespect that was said to me. I would not go back here at all and I would not advise buying a vehicle from them. If you buy a vehicle from them, I hope you get treated a lot better than I did. read more

We purchased a 2004 Audi A4 January 2016. We initially had a very pleasant experience with the dealership. They did replace a faulty windshield and water pump within the 1st few months of purchasing the car. Sometime after the 3 month warranty expired we started experiencing some more serious issues with the car. The car would roll backwards when on a hill and stall, mind you this was an Automatic transmission. After dealing with this problem on an off for several months we were advised by a local mechanic that the Transmission was going and would eventually need to be replaced to the tune of 3500.00 to 6000.00 for a new one! I called the dealership to advise them that Unfortunately they sold us a car with a well known CVT transmission issue for that particular model and year hoping they would make good and maybe even offer us another car and their response was that they were sorry they could Not help us. This was now our responsibility and problem to fix. This was supposed to be a 1st car for my teenage daughter that was supposed to be reliable and has now turned into an accident waiting to happen. Very disappointing! ...UPDATE in the 2 years we have had this car we have only driven it about 10,000.00 miles in total. The engine light is now back on, will not engage to go from 1st,2nd,3rd gears, will not pass inspection and is officially off the road. Thanks for nothing! read more
