Repairs recommended included a defrost board, fan motor, sanitize system, fan assembly system, and duct cleaning totaling $3,000. He also quoted me a total system replacement for $13,000. He used scare tactics to try and get me to purchase a new system. I called Angelic Air for a second opinion and the technician indicated I only needed to replace the fan motor. Last year I had a blower motor replaced in my HVAC unit. I bought a preventative maintenance plan that renews annually for a reasonable fee and includes a Spring cleaning and inspection of my HVAC. As such, the service fee for any repair visit is waived. One never is glad to have to call for HVAC service, but this morning I called because the exhaust (top) fan was not working. Scott from Daniel's came to my rescue that same day, quickly assessed the problem, and replaced a bad capacitor with a new one Made in USA. I was back up and running about twenty minutes after his arrival. The plan that I maintain with Daniel's saved me money. Scott was a treasure! I was surprised at how much the ducts can contribute to allergies (i.e. pollen, dust particles. pet dander) and respiratory issues as well. I immediately felt the air quality difference.
