Food has gone gradually down hill. I used to eat Leeann Chins downtown Minneapolis, and Ridgedale Center locations. I believe those were only two locations before franchising. Delicious, freshly prepared buffets. The crap you serve at the St Cloud location, is gluey, stale warmed-over slop. Never coming back. Awful. Walked in and 30 seconds later some guy starts yelling at a girl for being in an office and screamed at her to get out. I assume she got fired or something. Arrived around 7 pm on a Monday eve, not busy by any means. There was a sign that said "Due to Exhaustion the dining room is closed" Couldn't believe it. There were at least 4 workers if not 5 behind the counter. They didn't look very exhausted and had more workers then I usually see there. I have had Linchans in the past, but not at this location. Very disappointing save your money we still have not had a decent place. That has Asian food in Minnesota. The cream cheese wontons had no cream cheese only sour cream. The only thing that was tasty was the fried tofu with firecracker sauce. They must not make that in-store. We have tried 3 times over 3 years and seems to be getting worse. They do not even known how to cook brown rice it was very undercooked. My husband and I have been here plenty of times without any incident until today. The workers Ben and Lynn are by far the rudest and worst servers I've ever had to deal with. Ben served the smallest portions of food I've seen. He even counted the shrimp and removed some from my plate. This irritated us, so I said never mind cancel our order. My husband asked for their names. They told him, he grabbed a card it said Ben general manager. I couldn't believe it so we went back in and said he's in charge? Lynn she yeah, bye with an attitude. Then every time I asked a question she was just a smart Alec with her hand motioning bye and saying it at the same time. I was so annoyed so we left. This Leeann Chin is bright and colorful and is a great place to grab a quick bite of Chinese cuisine. It's the kind of food you'll find at most Chinese chain restaurants, yet it's flavorful and good. Especially, the lemon chicken! It's my favorite. You'll find other common Chinese cuisine, such as pot stickers, Mongolian chicken, fried rice, and more. While my preference would be for non-chain Chinese food generally, once in a while I have a hankering for Leeann Chin's lemon chicken. It's delicious. read more

Pretty average. Definitely mass-produced quality of the food. Meat entrees are delicious. Anything else, like noodles or an egg roll for example, is very oily. The food is not bad by any means. You're just not getting the quality at the dollar amount you pay for. Service is nice and easy to order. Everything is clearly marked. Most of the staff are friendly. Although the food was flavorful and unique, our order for takeout turned out to be dry. The brown rice was nearly like uncooked the next day, sticky and gummy day of order. Shrimp and vegetables entree was easy on the shrimp carrots and water chestnuts and brimming with peapods. Cracked Pepper chicken was very peppery and heavy on onions (maybe leeks or celery as well?). Overall, I wouldn't not eat Leeann Chin takeout again, I just don't think it will be my first choice. I took my wife here for lunch it had been a long time since we had eaten here.We went in and made our order and the lady behind the counter was very polite and professional but we only had a $100 bill. She called the manager over and he had to come out and open the safe to make change. He asked us if we had another bill we said we did not. He then finally opened the safe so we could have our change but as he walked away he started complaining in a rude tone of voice another $100 bill and shaking his head so all the other customers who heard him started laughing. Made my wife and myself extremely uncomfortable. I did not intend to go in there with a $100 bill, but that was the only thing I had on me. I thought it didn't matter but I guess it does. The food was incredible. The service however. We had our food delivered. We got 6 egg rolls and the Party for 3 option. Which says it comes with any two pint-sized entrées, quart of White or Natural Brown Rice 9 Cream Cheese Puffs and 4 Chocolate-Dipped Fortune Cookies. The first delivery only had the rice and entrees. They redilvered and we got 4 egg rolls. We are now on our 2nd re delivery for the cream cheese puffs and chocolate covered fortune cookies. Went to Leeann Chin tonight out of the blue when my friend suggested we do so! I was on board with it. The food looked really good and my friend helped me order. I got the "Imperial" bowl. That had noodles, rice, sesame chicken, and 3 cream cheese won tons (get the won-tons they are to die for!!). You could pick from about a dozen different options and combos so there is a little something for everybody. The sesame chicken was a tad spicy but nothing to be alarmed about. All of my food was very good and the won-tons were still warm when I got my food. I was slightly frustrated because I thought the workers could've filled the bowl with a little more food. SO, here comes the best part of the trip. I get to the register ready to blow my $7-8 on my meal when the worker asks if I have the reward program with them. I reply no in a slightly annoyed tone because you hear the same talk at every store/restaurant you go into. He then mentions that if you sign up for the app and create an account, you get a free entree. I asked if I was allowed to do that right then and there and he said absolutely. So I download the app which takes less than 10 seconds and create an account through Facebook and redeem my reward. I got my $8 meal completely for free. It was such a day maker and I was very impressed. I was extremely satisfied that I got this all for free and will most certainly be coming back for more chicken and won tons! read more
