The service here is incredible! I have been multiple times and each time the waiters are hovering around waiting for us. They're fast, responsive and very friendly! We recently went to celebrate our engagement, and I wish I got more photos of the sushi, but was only able to get a snapshot of the ramen! My son and I were in the St Cloud area hungry for sushi, and all you can eat sushi is always preferred for us. We went during lunch and were happily greeted upon entry and immediately seated. The waiter was happy and courteous. The restaurant itself is very nice floor to ceiling. The sushi was delicious, with a perfect ratio of rice and salmon. The various roles were all made well and had the perfect amount of sauce on them. We greatly enjoyed every item we ordered. We will be coming back. read more

Went to the lunch all you can eat and it was terrific! The servers were very fast and kind. I got the dumplings, fried tofu, and spring rolls for an appetizer which were great! Then I got the tempura squid which had a good amount of crunch to it. Next the shrimp tempura roll which had a good balance or shrimp in them. I would highly recommend to a friend. We had lunch on a Saturday afternoon and the atmosphere was quite nice. I wasn't too loud. When it came to the service of this place I would say this was the top of our experience. Our server was very helpful and patient. We spent 15 minutes just trying to figure out what we wanted. He came over and gave us some ideas. Everything he picked was on point. Food is always fresh and we are served consistently. They never rush us, not even once and we've been here well over 10 times. Hajime and Fuji are very expensive but good food still. I love this restaurant so much. We come at least once a month! I can't get enough of their sweet potato hand rolls. The food is always fresh and tasty. The servers do a good job and are always ready for your next order (if you're getting all you can eat). A super friendly service experience. Service was prompt. Food came out quicker than expected and certainly faster than I am used to in similar places. Food was hot and cold when it should be. Server wrote down the order the first time and didn't the second time which resulted in a missed item, but we didn't say anything and ate the replacement item and enjoyed it. The place is new and was VERY busy and you would expect kinks to work out; but they were on point. All items were okay, but compared to other similar venues, left something to be desired. The sushi is surprisingly good for an "all u can eat" restaurant. However, i say "all u can eat" because the servers basically don't serve you after one or two rounds of food. They basically passive-aggressively imply that you should leave. They do this by saying things like "and that's it, right?" And also forcing the receipt on me before we're being done eating. And just to be clear, we were not there for very long before service getting bad and the servers started to get passive-aggressive. We were only there about 30mins or so. read more

Absolutely awful!! We came in for lunch and it took over an hour to get our food. The servers had their fingers in the food/plates when carrying it to the tables. Many times we received food that was meant for other diners. Half of our party had to leave to go back to work so we got their food to go, when we got back to the office we found out the meals only had the chicken and was missing the rice and vegetables. I have become a sushi connoisseur since my introduction to the fabulous food thirty years ago. Yamato is the best. I've been there three times in the first week of opening and last night we celebrated my son's birthday there. The staff sprung into action to surprise my son with a group singing of "Happy Birthday" after a night of superb service and food. I don't know how one sushi chef could accommodate a full restaurant. Bravo. The "all-u-can-eat" includes the full Japanese menu so even people that fear the idea of eating sushi have plenty of other options. I'm a personal trainer and highly recommend eating here. Food is great but service is poor! We got our first round of food right away and got a second round but then we waited and waited to get served again and nothing. We clocked it out at forty minutes sitting there until a waiter finally came over. At that point we were sick of waiting and wanted the bill. The waiter said it was because they were busy, but we watched four waiters standing around, making eye contact with us. We also watched the table across the aisle get served twice the forty minutes we were waiting. They had the same waiter as our table. We will not be going back. read more

I've always had very good experiences at Yamato until I went this past Saturday. My boyfriend and I were greeted nicely my the young woman at the front counter when we came in. However, I guess she made a mistake in the notebook where they keep documentation for customers/tables (I'm honestly not sure what it's for.) The only reason I knew she had made a mistake is because an older man came (maybe the gm?- he always has 1 AirPod in, so he must be taking calls or something) and chastised her for making a mistake. He said something about how she was always making mistakes and attempted to angrily white out what the woman had written in the notebook. We watched nervously while this interaction happened. I've working in customer service before and really felt bad for this poor young woman. I felt like I was going to cry, and I could see her face change too. The man took my boyfriend and me to our table, and I told him that it is best practice to have those kinds of conversations with employees in private and that it shouldn't be done in front of customers. He said okay and moved on. It was hard not to leave, I lost a decent amount of my appetite after witnessing that. However, the service and food we got from the rest of the staff was excellent. read more
