I had the Pho Dac Biet and my wife had the shrimp noodle dish (bun). We also had spring rolls. Everything was delicious and it's in St. Cloud!!! We normally drive 1.5 hours to St. Paul to get good Vietnamese food. Now that we've found this, this is the go to spot for us. Service was good. The staff was nice and got us all that we needed. Upon advice from friends, we are trying this place. Despite living in st cloud for over a decade we hadn't tried it. And we were seriously jonesing for some pho and viet noodle salads. I ordered pho with everything, and my wife ordered lemongrass noodle salad. Plus spring rolls for an app. It's definitely a hole in the wall, but the service is nice, pleasant and attentive. The ambiance is definitely 80 Chinese, very retro. While the pho isn't the best I have ever had ( c'mon folks, this ain't Bangkok) it is a good traditional pho. The broth is satisfying without overwhelming, and they do have all the extras like tendon that some places lack. The Spring rolls were also good with an interesting soy based sauce. Wow! I have been looking for a bon meh place since PhoV and VietTen closed. Don't be fooled by the strip mall facade. The best places are usually holes in the wall tiny spots. Excellent bon meh although I missed the pickled veggies. Noodle salad reminded me of San Francisco china town. The shrimp spring rolls were fresh and delicious! Yum yum yum! It's interesting how so many reviews for Chinese restaurants can vary from so poor to so good, depending upon one's particular tastes. I really wanted to rank this restaurant higher, but I was so turned off from my last experience there, I simply cannot. I ordered one of the daily specials, General Tso's chicken combo with fried rice and two cream cheese wontons. The food was freshly prepared; that I will say. Unfortunately, it lacked taste. There was no spice to the chicken. Both the chicken and the wontons were overdone. It came in a sauce that had some taste, a few sliced carrots and a couple sprigs of broccoli. The worst was then when I bit into the wonton, there was something hard left in my mouth. I fished out a small strip of clear plastic. I have no idea what it was from, and I don't want to know. All I know is that it was disgusting and completely ruined my experience at this restaurant. I was prepared to bring it up to the cashier, but as I walked up to the counter, two other patrons walked in, and I simply didn't want to ruin their experience and embarrass the owner in front of two other customers. I ordered delivery last night after reading some favorable reviews. Simple order, General Tso's chicken and 2 eggrolls. While the time to deliver was fine, the General Tso's can only be described as one of the worst things I've ever tasted. The sauce was an orange water (some spilled out as I removed it from the bag. Because of this, it had turned the crust to a soft mush that would fall off. I found some on the top that appeared to be edible/crispy. No sir. Just as bad and tasted *nothing* like what every other chinese restaurant refers to as this said type of chicken. All of it, in the trash. Eggrolls were mediocre at best. At least had a crispy shell but lacked any real flavor. Fortunately I ordered the sweet and sour sauce to soak them in so I at least had something to eat. The rice was probably the best part of the meal, which also had to be soaked in soy sauce (which I received 1 whole packet) in order to not come out of the box in one solid clump. That ended up being what I ate the most of just because I needed something to eat and didn't want to leave to pick something else up. Overall, insanely disappointing. This place is horrible for customer service! So my order was good other than the rice, and chicken & broccoli. The wanton soup was ok and my boyfriends order was good so we split that. When my roommate called to let them know about the food being gross for half of the order they tell me that they will come and get the food and refund it, but they never want us to order from them again. I love this place! Huge selection and awesome hours. The moo shoo pork is amazing, and their hot and sour soup is just what it should be. I want to clarify that this is low to medium price food that delivers consistent and tasty food, perfect for work lunch or a midweek chinese fix. I took away a star because their front person can be a bit sassy and slow, but the waitresses and other staff are friendly and helpful. Also, I always order take out or dine in, but since I have notice that the food might take a while, I always call ahead 30 minutes before I want my food. I am from North Dakota, and my mom recommended we go here since she liked the food she ordered from here last time. I ordered the General Tso's Chicken platter, and the chicken was okay -- soft, but still had a crunch to them. The rice had barely any taste, so I had to add sweet and sour sauce to it. The cream cheese wontons were pretty good, except the cream cheese was too chunky. Good price for what you get. I recommend this place because my mom said that there other dishes are fantastic. I placed a to go order and was a little surprised that my dinner was $10 which included NO drink, NO spring/egg roll, NO piece of broccoli, just plain rice and tofu. On top of feeling jipped, I got horrible service. Although I put a tip on my to go order, when I was asked if I would like soy sauce. I said yes, give me 6 packets, I use a lot of sauce. I was then told I could not have 6, only 4. I could not believe it. So I get back to my motel and my sesemie tofu didn't have any sauce on it. I took a bite and it was terrible. Absolutely awful tasting chicken.. and it was grey. Fried wontons were exceptionally dry, fried rice tasted like dirt and the egg rolls seemed to be not cooked thoroughly. Okay, nothing special. I have been on a quest for some good General Tso's Chicken since I moved here several years ago and haven't found it yet. Here the meat was kind of slimy, breading was soggy.
