I'm guessing 99% of their business is takeout. That is what they are set up to do but they do have tables and they are very nice and went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our meal. My wife loves egg foo young and she rates this as some of the best she's ever eaten. Gross. Tried the food here three different times and it is never good. Do not waste your money

The food was subpar. The fried rice was awful. No taste and not fried. The steamed dumplings were ok and so was the Lo Mein was good tasting but hardly any meat or veg in it. I usually go to the Princeton Chinese for the buffet which is excellent but they are closed right now for some reason. THis place is way too expensive too. read more

We have been regular customers of China House Zimmerman since it opened. Our favorite dishes are: Black Pepper Chicken and Curry Beef. We also regularly get the egg rolls, and mix in Diet menu #4 white meat chicken/ broccoli with garlic sauce. Just recently branches out with Hunan Chicken; was fine but like my regular choices better. Next will try Szechuan Chicken and Mongolian Chicken. read more

Great service. They brought us egg drop soup before our food was ready. I asked for the crunchy noodles to go in the soup and they gave them to me. My mom asked for chop sticks and they brought them to our table. And the food was delicious. read more

As far as Chinese take-out go, it is the only place to go in town. Luckly for us it is good and all fresh made. During prime rush times, there is usually a wait for your food as long as 20 minutes. We find that it is best to call ahead for take out. Prices are reasonable. If you are around town during the lunch hour they have a decent lunch buffet. read more

Been going here for the last 6 years! I look forward to it every time I come back to Zimmerman. I used to order the wontons during lunch when I went to high school. There food is always fresh. Service is always efficient. People are always friendly, and they'll greet you with a smile. Thankful that this restaurant is in my home town. Keep doin what you do!! read more

Tried this place numerous times and when we got the food home it was cold and too salty! Not a fan of this place at all.

We eat here like once a month-no "diarrhea or oily farts" lol It's always delicious, ready exactly within 20 min and the staff is always polite. Staying nearby this was the only option for Chinese takeout without traveling to Elk River or Princeton. I don't want to be too negative as this was my first experience ordering from here. We ordered chicken and broccoli and generals chicken with fried rice, egg rolls, and wantons. I doubt the egg rolls were made fresh and the generals chicken was very light on flavor and there is no way that chicken started as a fresh that day. Not sure if I will stop in again. The three stars are for location, order time, and being open until 10:30 on a Tuesday evening. Prices were higher than expected, but not too unreasonable. read more

I love this place, I do not understand the people who have given it low reviews. It is a small "mom & pop" style of restaurant. I have always received good service - GREAT food (hot and fresh). I keep their number on my cell so I can call them on my way home and pick up as take out. We are always given so much food it equals multiple meals!!!! The decor of the restaurant is okay, but the food will definitely make up for it. The family that owns the place are very nice and hardworking. The dumplings are one of the best I've had and the General Tso Chicken is phenomenal. They have a buffet from Tuesday-Friday 11-2 and it's fairly cheap at around 6 or 7 dollars. Had I not driven 90 miles home from picking up my take out, it would have been returned. The Hunan style chicken should have been spicy (as indicated on their menu), instead was totally flavorless, could not even taste a hint of ginger soy or garlic. General Tso's chicken was either NOT fresh or they do not know how to cook chicken. It was so over cooked it was hard and dry. Not to mention their menu lists moo shoo pork and when I ordered, they did not call me back to tell me they did not have any, it was only when I showed up that they told me and I had to order something else. Guess that is what you get for 'ethnic' food in the middle or nowhere. read more
