    Lo mein

It's a small Cambodian restaurant connected with the gas station. I think it used to be a fast food restaurant back in the days. It's hidden away from the main roads. If you live out in Big Lake, Monticello, Elk River, Otsego, Albertville, and St. Michael there's not much southeast Asian restaurant around besides going down to Delano or Brooklyn Park. I got Chicken Lo Mein, Beef sticks with friend rice, and pho. The pho both is more on the low sodium side. If you ever been to Cheng Heng in St. Paul it's pretty similar to that just not a lot of sodium. They do provide chili oil per request. It's homemade so it has a little stronger kick to it. Beef sticks and fried rice was good. The beef sticks was really flavorful. It came with a small side of pickled papaya and carrots. Which has a good balance to the meal. (Maybe next time I'll ask for more of the pickle papaya and carrots.) The chicken lo mein was very flavorful. It's not your traditional Chinese lo mein. It's has that garlic flavor that you usually find in southeast Asian food. Which was something I really like. My advice is if you like spicy. Ask for chili oil on the side and mix it in with the lo mein. You'll thank me later. If you don't like spicy it's amazing without it too. Pro: flavorful southeast Asian food, close to home. Staff is very friendly and service is fast. Cons: I believe Rice Noodle for pho was the dry noodle kind. Which I'm not a fan of. (But that's just me as a preference and will still eat it's served.) Will I go back? Yes, I would go back.

O M G the best boba i think Iv ever had and the staff was so kind and patient and even kinda funny the food was the real star of the whole experience the portions where a very good size and everything tasted amazing !!! The vibe of the place was homie but has a slight vintage feel to it as well. Overall it is def in my top 2 favorite low key spots ANDDDD if you look at the pictures I attached you can see how down to earth and cool this place really is ! If anyone is good at chess now is your time to shine !

This hidden gem is a great place to eat! The food was delicious! The service was also very good. It's a shame you really can't see the restaurant from Highway 10 as you drive by! It's hidden behind the Market Place Minnoco Express Gas station & convenience store! They have Great take out service! Years ago this was an A & W / Long John Silver Restaurant. It's not fancy dinning inside but it is nice and clean. Everything we had was excellent, The Chicken & Steak on a stick was super! They have Beer and some really tasty and unique drinks for kids & adults! The fried rice, Egg-rolls & Cream Cheese Wonton's we're superb! Several people at tables near us were all commenting on how good the Food was! This is definitely one of those hidden gems that you'll say; "I wish I had known about this Restaurant sooner!" We will definitely be back again soon!

Outdoor seating available, a convenient area to walk your dog just across the street, and they are located right on highway10

What an amazing lunch! We had the crispy Wantons (double order :-) ), purple egg rolls (which were very flavorful), pork tacos and stir fry vegetables with steak which we ordered spicy. The "spicy" came from these beautiful tiny slices of tiny red peppers bringing just the right amount of heat for most people. Well worth the trip just for the wantons alone which have this light, not too much, satiny flavor, oh so yummy. Can hardly wait to go back but we are so full right now. Next time the quail.

The volume in the restaurant is quite loud, so the patio may be better if you don't want to speak up at the table. Service is on the slower side but the food is worth the wait. -- The Sakoo small plate was an incredible dish! The texture contrast between the filling, chewy exterior, and lettuce shell was fantastic. It was so flavorful and has a bit of a spice kick to it. -- The Mango Fish entree was packed with flavor, and is a very umami-forward dish. The piece of crispy salmon skin on the side is perfectly crunchy and salty. It's a filet of salmon (not a whole fish) and the salmon is nice and buttery. -- The Duck Fried Rice entree had good flavor but the duck meat was dry. It did not come with the duck leg or crispy skin, and instead had chunks of duck meat throughout the dish. This dish has a bit of a spice kick to it. -- The Pistachio Orange Blossom Cake dessert was SO GOOD. I'm not a huge dessert person and I ate every bite of this. The cake is so moist and pairs well with the fluffy mousse covering the cake. The little bits of baklava and orange zest complemented this dish really well.

I will be thinking of how good that dish is for the rest of my life; the coconut milk and lime combined with the texture of fresh seafood really hit the spot! The Thai basil wings and Massaman curry were very yummy also. I enjoyed my meal so thoroughly that I forgot to take many pictures. The presentation on my cocktail (a tonic with vodka and buddha hand fruit) was very pretty. Service was thoughtful and quick. The restaurant itself was beautiful and open and airy -- I almost felt like I wasn't in Minneapolis anymore. We went on a Tuesday, and only drawback I'd say is that the noise level can be a little bit loud due to the acoustics and how the room is one giant space. Otherwise, very happy with the restaurant and would go again.

The restaurant is clean and bright, and the service is prompt and attentive. We also ordered food from them to cater a party and it was incredible. The owner helped us figure out quantities and she was spot on! We thought it was too much, but we only had a little bit of leftovers. So, no guests felt like they missed out on food, but it wasn't too much to fit in our fridge at the end. Perfect! As a side note, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that Cambodian food is different than Thai or Vietnamese. I kind of thought they were all sort of the same (somewhat embarrassing...), but there are definitely different flavors going on here. It can be hard to spot this gem hidden on University Ave. in St. Paul, but it is definitely worth the trip!

If you're looking to try a dish that is uniquely Khmer, this soup is one of them. The soup has flavors from roasted rice and kreung, a fragrant blend of lemongrass, makrut lime leaves, garlic, galangal, tumeric. Cheng Heng's version had green beans, round green eggplants, spinach, young papaya, and kabocha squash, plus a protein choice (I chose chicken). The somlaw was hearty, and very filling. The portion was more than enough to share. I can imagine myself ordering this on a cold winter evening. Their menu was full of amazing Cambodian dishes, but unfortunately, I was one, otherwise I would have ordered other items like the Somlaw Machu Kreung, and Somlaw Machu Angkor as well. I would love to return but with company, so I can taste more of their dishes.

Most places will allow you to choose white or fried rice with entrees and Angkor says "white rice only", but I am glad I decided to order fried rice anyway. It was colorful, rich, flavorful- all that fried rice should be. My only critique was for the noodles. They gelled together into 1 big lump. Maybe they were put into the container piping hot? The flavors were still there but the noodles forming 1 inseparable mass made them challenging to eat. Overall we were highly satisfied with our food and will order takeout from them again.
