It's always worth giving them a call to price-check something because more often than not, their pricing is excellent. I do property maintenance and management, and Preston Hardware has become my go-to store. They generally have what I need, and if they don't, they can usually bring it in for me. I also have a contractor account, which lets me tag my invoices by property so I can easily keep everything straight for my accounting. I deal with Roberto quite a bit, and he's always friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and quick to get back to me. The service is consistently excellent. Their location is great too. If you're anywhere downtown, they're the place to go -- and even if you're not downtown, it's worth the drive. Great atmosphere, friendly service, great pricing, and I really like supporting a family-run business. Highly recommended!

When i came out a forklift operator with about 3 teeth was Freaking out about where i parked.. i was inbetween the lines in a spot. Would not recommend. Home Depot has better selection.

TL;DR/The Short Version: Used to be a Lowe's now a RONA+…read more Good for hardware and home improvement stuff. The plants in their garden centre aren't in the best shape :( The Long Version: I don't know the full history, but once upon a time, Lowe's, RONA and Home Depot were the big box home improvement stores in Canada. Then Lowe's bought RONA and converted some RONA stores into Lowe's stores, then Lowe's decided to pull out of Canada and sold its Canadian stores to a firm called Sycamore Partners so some Lowe's locations in Canada became RONA+ stores and the rest closed down. So there are still RONA stores around, but the ownership is different from the RONA of days past. This RONA location used to be a Lowe's. Home improvement/hardware stores are not my favourite types of stores, but my husband and father love these types of stores. However, I recently got into houseplants, so whenever my husband and I go to these types of stores to look for home improvement stuff, I go to the garden centre to check out the plants. When I went in March, the plant selection was small and they had some small succulents that were in really rough shape. All etiolated and some leaves were yellowing/browning really bad :( They had some larger succulents in better shape and some cacti that seemed to be doing well. Selection was small in general and in general the plants were in poorer shape here than at other big box stores. The rest of the store looked fine and my husband found what he was looking for. So overall I would say this location is good for home improvement stuff, but not indoor plants from my experience. Lots of free parking. Review #87 (2025)

Went during the Covid season and they washed all the carts, felt completely comfortable going in and around the garden centre while socially distancing. I loved the selection of pots and tropical plants. Definitely coming back and I'd recommend anyone to stop by and take a look around.

The Long Version: We are looking for a new sink for our laundry room, so stopped by this Home Depot to look at sinks. They had a few options which we are considering. Since I recently started getting into plants, I also took a look at their indoor plants section. It was March and the selection was not bad. The plants were in ok shape in general. No plants looked in really rough shape like I saw at the RONA down the street. However, I was looking for a Pilea Peperomioides and they had quite a few at a good price ($7.99), but none nice and healthy enough that I wanted to take home. They all had some scarred, yellowing or dead leaves. They had some cute succulents though that I would have gotten if I was in the market for them at the time. Plants at big box stores don't usually get the best care, but they are much cheaper than at speciality shops, so that's the trade-off. Plants, aside, this Home Depot location is really big and has all the usual items you need for home improvement projects. The washrooms here were exceptionally clean during my visit and I like how the exit door is a push and not a pull. I hate having to pull a handle after I have freshly washed my hands, lol. He wasted the paint, told me that he couldn't mix a quart because it doesn't fit in the machine and it wasn't the right size??!! Home Depot should really invest more time into training their staff or not leaving staff that are un knowledgable and unable to do their job to serve the public. Thankfully, we were able to get help at the neighbouring Rona.. Gabe at Rona is super knowledgable and outstanding and knows a lot about paint unlike those working at Home Depot.

Unfortunately, this Rona is a small store and it only has a very small selection of basic tools. I decided to look around and see what other products were for sale. I did eventually find some construction glue, tape and a few other items to buy. With my purchases in hand, I walked over to the cash register. The male cashier was looking at me with a weird (bizarre) expression on his face. Abruptly the cashier said, "You have to pay. You have to pay for the merchandise." Looking at the products being held in my hands I exclaimed, "Everything I'm buying is right here." The cashier rudely said, "How are you paying?" I replied, "With my credit card." Next, the cashier demanded that I show him a piece of photo ID. My planned purchases were for about $60.00. Feeling disgusted, I immediately placed the items onto the counter and walked straight out of the door. While I did briefly look around in this store, the cashier jumped to the totally false conclusion that I was trying to steal something. This store has only a small floor space and a very limited selection of tools and materials for sale, which are used in construction. Given my treatment I will never go back to Rona Manotick on Bankfield Road. Having such a poor shopping experience, I can't in any way recommend this Rona to anyone. I would have rated this Rona with no stars, but you have to give a least one star when writing a review.

I wanted a cute plant with the pot .. and realized the pots are hand made and ceramic. It's a small local shop in Ottawa and it was super fabulous. The service was alright.. not very welcoming at first and they were pretty annoyed to see a customer and took a while to get help. The actual pot is a lil pricey but the plants are decently priced. The pot was like 42$ and plants varried between 5-13$ I got the Pink lady / callisia it was so beautiful and fell in love with it. Had to get it .. overall it a beautiful place but maybe get your pots / ceramics somewhere else as they're quite expensive !!

Went here during the Covid-19 pandemic and bought with curb side pick up. I even asked a question about my order and received feedback quite quickly. The pick up process was do it yourself with your order number and than finding your plants. Easy to do and their are workers at the front to help or ask questions. Plus the quality of plants were fantastic and I am happy with my order!

I am searching for wild rose bushes to put in my front yard, to replace the juniper bushes that had…read morebeen there for an eternity and were withering out. The bushes are gone, but the space is crying for new items to display there, although I have now planted a few smaller items. Those wild rose bushes are impossible to find in the stores! Lowes has them planted in the parking lot, but none in the store. The staff doesn't even know what I'm asking for! At least I could show them... ... Which is more than I could say for Richmond Nursery. :-( There are no wild rose bushes in the nursery or nearby. They had a lot of other stuff which was ok, but not what I want. Mind you, the nursery is quite big, and the staff was helpful trying to find something that might be suitable. For me, the rose bushes they had on offer were nice, but were about $30.00 each, which is more than I want to pay when I'd need 4 or 5 to fill the space. So, I'm still looking...
