**Warning** Do not hire Home Depot for toilet or other product installations. They will not take care of property damage if the installation goes wrong!!! I hired the Home Depot to install a new toilet in November 2023. The home depot sub contracts toilet installs to another company (Quick Contractors). They sent a guy with no experience to install the toilet. The installer installed the toilet incorrectly and on an angle. The toilet leaked and caused thousands of damage to the floor and ceiling below. I have been given the run around from Home Depot and Quick Contractors to repair the damage. These two big companies decided to pass off all responsibility to the installers private insurance who has been ignoring my emails and calls. I have informed both companies there has been no progress or resolution in site. The contractors private insurance has claimed they have not accepted fault for the damage yet, even though it has been made clear the installer was at fault. A 2nd installer was sent out from Quick Contractors to reinstall the toilet and report back on what caused the damage. The 2nd installer clearly stated the leak was from improper installation and took pictures. Attached are photos of the toilet installed on an angle and the water leaking out of the base soaking a drop cloth. If you think hiring a big company like Home Depot will have your back with any warranty issues think again. My house is supposed to be on the market for sale but will be delayed until the repairs are final. read more

I feel like one of the businesses that have flourished during this Covid-19 Pandemic is Home Depot and stores of that ilk (Lowe's, Rona, etc.). People are staying home and fixing up their houses. I have never seen the lumber department at Home Depot as empty as I have during this Pandemic. The store employees even told me that the wood is flying off the shelves. They get a new shipment in in the morning and before noon, it's all gone. On my last visit there, their saw was broken, presumably from overuse, lol. I guess when this Pandemic is over, people are going to have some nice looking homes...well, unless these do-it-yourselfers are anything like my dad. Anything my dad builds will be highly functional, and it will last forever, but it will be incredibly ugly (I love you, Daddy, but you know it's true!). Lol. Anyway, this location has pretty good customer service. The employees are on the most part nice and friendly. Their inventory is usually good (during normal times) and their prices are satisfactory. You're never going to find any awesome deals here, but prices are comparable to similar stores. This location is I think technically a part of College Square, or at least it's behind College Square. There used to be a Harvey's attached to it, but no more. If you want food, there's a McDonald's, a Subway, a Tim Hortons and a Pizza Pizza across the parking lot. Or if you drive around to the main part of College Square, there are even more food options (Osmows, Mucho Burrito, Edo, Allo Mon Coco, Starbucks, and Chances R). Went in to the store on June 29th and ordered a garage door and requested there instillation service. Everything went fine in store as the store associate told me I would have to pay a 87$ measuring fee that was non refundable . One week later a guy shows up and asks me to show him the opener ?? Looking confused I explained he was there to measure the garage door as he says to me he doesn't do garage door installs he does garage door opener installs, he said he would take pictures for the file but that I should order the door and call him back when it arrives. I ordered the door and they give me a delivery date of .june 11-15th . That day comes and goes and no door .. few days later I get another email stating that the door will be delivered the 29th but of course no show I tried to call but got stuck dealing with the aI customer service which is useless. finally the door arrives a month later and now I can't get anyone to install it . I called the gentleman back that measured the door and he politely tells me he doesn't do garage door install and I would have to call Home depo, so after 20 min if searching for a customer service number I called a finally talked to a real human being who apologized for the mix up and promised me someone would call me the next day. Do you think anybody called me NO!!!! This is now late Aug And I have had enough . I was forced to find another company to install my garage door. Most of the time I find the employees helpful here. Sometimes you have to flag them down and ask them to help you. Convenient location next to pizza pizza, Timmies, subway, and McDonald's! Plus right beside College Square for shopping and groceries. Stores could be more cozy feeling, and stock more items (they sell out quickly of items on sale). read more

My mother ordered a microwave from the Baseline Store. They were nice enough to order it to be picked up by her at the store, BUT when she had not heard back from them on the day after it was to have been available she called to enquire. She spent HOURS (and days) trying to get through to a person to talk to. When she actually would they would transfer her to another line and no one would pick up and no one was monitoring the call to see if she had actually gotten through. She had to then call back again, multiple times same results. She finally got someone who said they would look into it and call her back. They never did. She got up extra early Saturday to call them just after they opened. Found out her microwave had been there for three days. TERRIBLE SERVICE. WHERE IS THE MANAGER? Been going to this place for 15 yrs. Ordered a curbside delivery and they canceled my most important item. Confused I called for help. It took 14 mins to talk to someone. And another 45 mins to speak to a manager. The tactic of ignoring customers until they get upset and then go away is common. But not something i expected from my local department store. I implore the regional manager Mark Blackwell to call the store and try to speak to someone. I've spent well over 20k over the yrs as I've done numerous projects. I Ordered a Gazebo on May 9 online at HomeDepot.ca so this is not relevant to a particular location, rather the online store. The website said delivery in 5- 12 days. On May 16 the item was "Shipped" and arrived in Ottawa the same day by SameDay.ca Worldwide shipping. I was then charged by Home Depot. Since then I have heard nothing and have made numerous attempts to contact SameDay as suggested by Home Depot customer service. They are basically not contactable. 2 x 1 hour on hold sessions plus leaving messages for call backs that never happen. Calls to Home Depot say that Same Day will contact me or I can call them to arrange delivery. I explain that they are not contactable and I have heard nothing from them. Home Depot then tries to contact Same Day and they cannot get a reply either and have no answers to give me but to wait. I order a product that Home Depot said would be delivered in 5 - 12 days. After 7 days the product was shipped to my home town and I was charged. It is now 14 days since ordering and no one can give me any answers and Home Depot cannot contact their own shippers. I offered to go pick up the order myself and was told that was not possible. This is the second time I've ordered from Home Depot on line and both times there have been excessive delays beyond what Home Depot advertises. Bottom Line: 1. Do not order from Home Depot online. 2. The paint section is the WORST in Ottawa--avoid at all costs. Rude, unhelpful staff. Even other HD stores in Ottawa are preferable. Store management is aware of the problem but you're taking your chances if you shop for paint here. Curiously, no issues with the other store departments. read more

Ottawa ON. Oct. 11-2019 Bought a $4000 stove at HD on September 14 2019 after our stove just quit working, was delivered on a Tuesday Oct. 8 after 3 weeks by Ovation and as they were taking it off the tuck we noticed a big hole on the cardboard box and sure enough the stove turned out to have a big dent on it, we refused to accept delivery. The delivery guys contacted Ovation and let them know about the non delivery, loaded the damaged stove on the truck told us that we will be contacted by somebody in the next 15 minutes and left. After not being by contacted by anybody an hour later 11.30am we went to HD talked to John the appliance manager that promised to look into the matter and call us in the afternoon to let us know when to expect delivery for the replacement, 5.30 pm no call from John back to HD John finished his shift and went home and didn't give a crap about us, we were directed to another manager Paul that promised to contact Ovation and call us in the next couple of hours. Paul did call at 6.30 pm and informed us that Ovation truck did not make it back to the office and they could not confirm non delivery but said he will call back the next morning Wednesday and let us know. By Wednesday noon Paul didn't call so we called customer Service talked to a pleasant Brittany that took it upon herself to find some info about our stove, she called back 1 hour later with some good news the stove will be delivered sometime next week, great! Is now 5pm Friday night before thanksgiving weekend and Paul called after 2 1/2 (I guess we were not his priority) days telling us that Ovation still has no record of the stove getting back to their depot after 3 1/2 days and they can't order a replacement until the stove show up. At this moment Thanksgiving 2019 with no stove after a month long wait and god knows when we will be getting what we paid for. Will not buy anything a HD again and I will stay away from business using Ovation as their delivery company. Never had a more frustrating experience than this, Ovation and Home Depot two useless entities run by and with people that just don't care!! Bought an appliance and requested an afternoon delivery. The salesman looked very professional and helpful, promised the afternoon delivery would be arranged. Later, I found out that my request was completely ignored. The delivery company called me on Monday to tell me that my appliance would be delivered Tuesday morning!!!! I was devastated, and called customer service to find out what to do. The person who answered my call was EXTREMELY rude, impolite, and useless! He did not introduce himself. He told me that his manager didn't want to speak to me and there was absolutely nothing he could do!!!!!! He kept saying that I have to call the delivery company even though I told him that I have already spoken to them and they could not help. Later I complained to the company's headquarters. One week later someone called and left me a message to call her to discuss the matter! I called and left a message for that person and never heard back from her again! my complaint was left in the air. The shopping experience at the home depot was a nightmare!
