This is my third large furniture purchase from EQ3. Bed, couch, and a recent, really, bigly leather couch. I don't mind paying the premium for EQ3 products because the items I picked up were all Made in Canada. You can buy things for much cheaper from other shops, for sure.. choices.. The shopping experience. Personally, I'm new to the city, I live here part-time, and I just needed a few things to make a place comfortable for me. I've bought $ things and $$$$ things from the shop in the Byward; I love a good deal and the third floor is great for sales. The staff have been helpful without being pushy The real nugget to shopping EQ3. Those delivery guys are gold. I ordered the biggest, baddest, heaviest couch in there. I'm in a low-ceiling, 90s building. Elevator said 'no' and these guys took the stairs up 3 stories. It was like 3D Tetris on 'roids from the get. I cannot thank these guys enough read more

We currently have a couch that was purhcased at EQ3 (its going on 10 years old), and we were looking to replace and purchase a new couch. Since we were in the market, we decided to pop into EQ3 and test out some of the couches. Honestly, the store was not inviting at all, and was pompus! I actually left this place livid! I'll keep this short and sweet! We were followed around the 1rst floor after an assoicate said hello. (If only looks could kill!) Super uncomftorable browsing in this store. At least ask if I need anything. Not sure if we were treated like this due to being dressed down and wearing baseball caps, but it was incredibly unproffesional. We walked out! read more

This EQ3 location is pretty cool! I've been furniture shopping the last little while and finally dropped into here to check out some pieces. The location is right in the heart of the Byward Market. The building is pretty old but has a lot of character with extremely high ceilings, exposed brick and very uneven floors. The stairs creak and are also very uneven but it's very cool feel to the store especially with the way it's laid out. When I walked into the store I was greeted by the staff with a big smile. They're super nice and helpful. Looking through the furniture in the store you will notice some pretty neat items but many reminds me a lot Ikea items. The unfortunate thing is some of the quality seems the same with a mark up in price. The lighting from E3 is probably my favourite things from this store. I didn't end up purchasing anything and my rating is with respect to the EQ3 items itself. The staff is great and the store has a lot of character. read more

This is a obviously a great place to go if you are looking for the latest in home furnishings and for custom looks, but it kicks ass if you're searching for a house warming gift! There are items available for any kind of budget and they are all super trendy, yet fantastically functional. They have great things for the kitchen (multipurpose pasta tool anyone?!) - this is LIFE-CHANGING) and living areas that are modern but fun. When I have money to drop, I'm going back for their tree trunk stools. And probably a dozen other things that I simply must have. read more

Bought a Solo sofa from them three weeks ago. Hasn't been delivered yet. It cost $899 plus tax. Last week, I received an e-mail with the new sale: that if I buy $1000 of stuff, I get a $250 lamp for free. I contacted EQ3 to ask if I can get the cool-looking lamp if I add more purchases to my $899. I also said I would have waited two weeks for the new sale had I been informed. Customer service in Winnipeg said that they wouldn't offer me the new sale unless I buy another $1000 of stuff. I replied and said that I was disappointed and that my brand loyalty just disappeared. I've bought 4 pieces from EQ3 so far, and I may not stop there! We bought a Selma sectional for our newly renovated living room, then added a chair to that, then bought a Solo sofa bed from them because we loved the sectional so much. Service downtown and on the phone with the warehouse and the Winnipeg shop has always been excellent and super friendly. All 4 pieces actually arrived ahead of schedule (they quoted us 4- 8 weeks, all arrived within 4 or 5 weeks). Cru and Tim delivered the Solo sofa bed today and they were, again, super friendly very careful with my walls and floors during the delivery and very knowledgeable about the care of the sofa. I am afraid of buying anything from this store, after reading the reviews from Toronto, it sounds like a nightmare to deal with this company's after services. Sorry Ottawa store but you have only 3 reviews and even though they are all good, it looks like that most people don't write reviews in Ottawa. I need to furnish an entire house and it is going to be hard to put my faith into EQ3 knowing that I will have to take a chance that I might or might not have a good experience. Clearly customer service is not one of EQ3's priority. It is so sad to see this because most people would want to buy Canadian made furniture. This is very important to me and most of my friends, however and unfortunately unlike our neighbour to the south, Canadian companies really are NOT great at customer service and follow ups. Professional customer service training is not implemented in most of these big business. Successful businesses are build on returning happy customers. In this economy businesses need to address this issue and become more competitive. EQ3 without a doubt provides great designs and products, made in Canada, but their customer service is not up to par. This is something the EQ3 needs to improve upon and be very aggressive about it. Unhappy/rude employees usually means that the company is not doing its job to provide a better working environment for the workers and they are profit driven only without realizing that their bottom line depends on the number of happy returning customers. When a company loses the trust of its client tell they will have a very hard time to gain it back, so do it right from the start. The people at EQ3 were very friendly, polite, gave us enough space when we needed some time to discuss but also offered us their honest opinion. Great service, the in house consulting really helped to make us confident in our purchase and that it would fit into our basement. Our couch was ready earlier than expected. Nice furniture and store, but watch out for dishonest sales practices. I was told delivery was $95, but after I had paid I looked at my bill and noticed they had charged me $125. The salesguy said 'oh, I thought you lived downtown but when I entered your address the system charged you more'. I live just slightly outside downtown, and he had never asked me where I lived. I made a fuss but they refused to take responsibility for their false representation and refund the difference. read more

We first ordered the GRID plasma unit in ebony colour. It was perfect for our house so one month later we ordered two GRID bookshelves with a few inserts. When we received it we set them up and realized that the colour was lighter than the plasma unit we bought just a few weeks prior. Also the drawers were so rickety that we could barely open them. After having trouble communicating with the store staff we ended up going in person to talk to the manager. She explained that they had been having a hard time with their new manufacturer in China in terms of their quality control. She also mentioned that the company was changing the way they make drawers so that they would be a better quality insert. She suggested ordering two new units, setting them up in store to make sure the colour was right and then delivering them to our home. This took way over the stated 4 to 6 weeks and when we received them, they were missing one of the drawer insert and the shelf inserts were melamine and not wood like the original ones we had in the wrong colour. It took another few weeks to get the drawer insert we were missing. All-in-all it took 4 months to get this resolved. Ridiculous!!! However, the manager was gracious enough to reimburse our $100 shipping costs and then another $200 for our troubles. So, would I buy again from EQ3? Probably not because the whole process was such a hassle and a waste of time and I now have no confidence in the quality and consistency of their products. But I have to say thank goodness for Julia the manager who was very polite and accomodating. read more

Hello, I would like to inform you about the terrible experience we had buying a couch at EQ3. After months of looking for a couch we decided to go with leather Salema sofa- we decided to buy a Canadian made furniture even with a higher price tag than comparables. When we went to the store,we were already knew what style and colour of the sofa e were going to buy- therefore we were hoping that the transaction will not take a long time. The sales associate incorrectly put our information in the computer, she did not confirm our information and processed the transaction. The result- the sales order was made to a wrong phone number, wrong customer name and address and we were overcharged for the delivery fee - and simply we paid for a couch to be delivered to somebody else! As soon as the sales order was given to me I noticed the mistake. I asked for the changes to be made. The associate informed me that the store manager was not present at the time and only she had the power to change my address on the sales order. After spending almost an hour in the store trying to fix the problem I was told that all information will be corrected next day and I will be contacted by a manager. That was October 12, 2015. I finally called the store demanding to speak to a manager ( October 16,2015) to correct the mistake. After speaking with the manager I was reassured that the delivery overcharge will be refunded and that my information has been changed in the computer system and the couch will be delivered to me within 6-8 weeks. After over 8 weeks i finally called the customer service on December 9,2015 to inquire about my sofa. The customer service representative was less than helpful, claiming that EQ3 has tried to contact me on multiple occasions with no success. The lady seemed very hostile and after I explained the situation with the wrong sales order- she confirmed that the order was still assigned to the wrong customer and a wrong phone number!!! Without even a slightest apology she quickly transferred me to a warehouse manager. The gentleman I dealt with there (Andy I believe) was the nicest, most sympathetic and accommodating service professional I have dealt with in a long time. Because of the time constraint and a busy work schedule I would not be able to receive the couch till after Christmas- what was promised by the sales associate in the first place. The warehouse manager did everything in his power to deliver the couch to me the next day. The delivery guys brought the couch next morning- they were also extremely pleasant and accommodating. The icing on the cake is a scratch on the couch that we have waited for over 8 weeks and spend almost $2,500! read more

Had a good experience with store staff (Derrick and Chanel). They answered all of my questions, and called to follow-up and let me know that the couch I was interested in was on sale. Delivery was within the window of time quoted, and Cru and Daniel of the delivery service were super friendly and professional.
