    Butter chicken and plant balls
    Laura W.

Love IKEA but sometimes I wish it was possible to just walk through to the restaurant or just pick up a few things and leave. My mom and I visited recently with my 5 month old. They have a great nursing/feeding room next to the restaurant. There is a room set up with a chair, changing table, sink and children's play kitchen. There is a bathroom connected with kids pottys. The restaurant has high chairs readily available and seems to be well set up for parents bringing their babies and kids. The meal was good, we shared the plant balls (plant based meatballs) dish and the butter chicken. I prefer the regular meatballs or the vegetable balls. Overall it was a good day at IKEA and we found most of what we were looking for. Stock can be low for popular items and I have found that sometimes their online inventory is not up to date. One great change is that you can now order for pick up and there is no additional fee. If you are driving there is covered parking as well as charging for electric vehicles.

***** Review for the IKEA Restaurant ***** Visiting to do shopping for family who was moving to buy some furniture and accessories for home. After shopping for a couple of hours and living just on coffee since morning, we were starving. Stood in a line up and registered for self serve dining. The line up moved fairly quick and we were given instructions what do and what not to do. As usual the food here is catered to all Vegans, Vegetarians and with enough choices for meat options as well. Mrs took a veggie wrap, a tomato and cheese soup and fries to share and I took a veggie balls, with rice and steamed veggies. Of course coffee as well. All the food has the least amount of spice and salt, which is healthy for just almost all of the dietary restrictions. The spice level of the food is below what I prefer, but I thoroughly enjoy the food. I really appreciate that IKEA takes the vegetarian and vegans in mind when they set up the menu.

Dropped by here and got a great breakfast for cheap! For only $3.50, you'd get bacon, eggs, home fries, and toast. Doesn't get much cheaper and simpler than that.

You can always rely on the Ikea restaurant for a delicious meatball dish! Super tasty and under $10! This chocolate caramel cake was absolutely unreal very similar to turtles. Would definitely recommend this meal, you can even add extra meatballs for a few dollars. I did of course get furniture from Ikea, a new desk and chest of drawers. Unfortunately the bedside tables were sold out nonetheless love my new additions!

I love ikea! I always go there with the intention to buy one thing, and then come out with a cart full. I hope I'm not the only one who does this. I feel like the Ottawa location is always nice and tidy. I love the selection that there is for pretty much everything in your house. I also have to give them the five star because they are a company trying to create less wasteful packaging. Food: Now the fun part, Food is very affordable. They offer lots of selection: from salad, soups to warm meal, wraps and sandwiches. I believe everyone will find some things that they like. I also have a few vegan or vegetarian options. I have personally tried the veggie meatballs. They taste good, But my favourites have to be the butter chicken or the regular meatballs. Honestly you can have a meal with a drink for less than $10. After you have completed your shopping. you will have the option of either bringing food home (they sale frozen meatball, pancakes...) or eating some fast food option (pizza and hotdog) again Vegetarian options are available.

Love Ikea !! I could spend all day here , so many awesome things and you can literally find anything for your home at an affordable price, you can also go and get inspired by their awesome home set-ups. My favourite part about IKEA is their food court, they offer an amazing selection of affordable food, their meatballs are the best !!! Sooo good , they also sell them frozen if you want to make some at home .

Definitely as fun place to come for home inspo but their food court is the star of the show. Love their swedish meatballs and all the fixings. They have a pretty decent and inclusive menu. Price is decent as well. And staff have always been friendly.

This was my first time at an IKEA in recent memory (I apparently went when I was three). Perceptions prior to the visit were that it's a place where relationships are broken, it's Disney Land for adults, and you might get lost. Due to COVID-19 countermeasures, there was a line up outside. Unfortunately for us, there was also torrential rain. People lining up were soaked. Aside from that, staff wore masks and the cafeteria was cleaned rigorously. It's probably just my lack of perception, but I wasn't fond of the showroom being non-linear. We were searching for office desks, and we completely missed the section for them the first time around. We got ourselves a bed, end table, bookshelf, and two desks. I found the instructions helpful and somewhat amusing. Once we bought everything, we went to the cafeteria. I had Swedish meatballs, but apparently not for the first time; when I was three years old, I had some meatballs and disliked it. I argue that three-year-old me was uncultured and these meatballs were fantastic. Overall this place was, by all means, an IKEA.

Ok, Believe it or not, I survived a visit to IKEA! I have to admit that it wasn't nearly as terrifying as I expected it to be. Not being a huge fan of this chain to begin with, I have avoided the largest IKEA store in Canada until now. And... it was a lot better than I thought it would be! The new rendition is a lot more comfortable to browse in than the old layout was; it's the illusion of space inside! It is bright inside, and the pathways are wider and seem to be less cluttered than the old layout was. They are, after all, promoting the maximization of available space. It's funny how they had to expand to do this! I was also surprised that it was less costly than I had anticipated it would be; I even purchased a few items! I wasn't expecting to come out with anything after this visit. We just moved into a new (to us) smaller house, which is sorely lacking in storage space. No pantry! How on earth did the previous owners even survive?! Where can I hide my bread machine, and our blender?? As a result, we are looking to expand the kitchen in our current house, which contains an IKEA kitchen. The people who helped us move, walked in and exclaimed "oh nice IKEA kitchen!" How on earth did they even know that? But it is apparently so! And rather than ripping this out and putting in a whole new one (believe me - this idea was at the top of my list!) it turns out that it might be cheaper to get the upgrades from IKEA. Go figure! In any event, I will keep this review short for now, and will update it as things pan out. I'll keep you posted. Oh, and I have heard raving reviews about their cafeteria, so I'll have to try that out one day too. Geez, I wonder if IKEA would consider opening a cafeteria where I work? Food for thought... A la prochaine, mes amis!

My coworkers and I were able to catch the Smörgåsbord hosted in celebration of the Swedish midsummer festival. Tickets were ~$15 and with that, we got to try cured salmon, potatoes with dill, deviled eggs, elderflower juice, and meatballs with lingonberry jam. For dessert, there was an array of beautifully presented sweets including Daim cake, chocolate balls, and strawberry shortcake. The cooks were incredibly friendly and helpful when describing all of the traditional dishes. Overall, it was a really enjoyable dining experience!

Eventually, this manager came over, but initially only aggressively demanded to know where exactly in their lot we had parked our car. Although I initially avoided stating where my car was parked, the manager purposefully wouldn't talk to me again until I told her. At this point the manager handed me over to another salesperson. When the salesperson tried to distract us away from the entrance / exit door the manager quickly went (ran) outside of the store. While my wife and I were shopping, I just happened to peek out the window and noticed the manager checking out my car in the parking lot. Upon sneaking back into the store this manager with a big smile on her face said, "I know you have money. I will help you out." Looking around at the mattresses, I saw the manager unknowingly take photos of another customer in the store using her cell phone. I'm very sure the manager, who was trying to secretly take these photos, didn't notice I had seen her doing it. I found the manager to be sneaky, a liar and very manipulative. She's not in any way the type of person that I would ever buy a 'big ticket item' from. Also, I'm very sure the store manager thought I hadn't noticed her disrespectful and abusive behaviour. The salesperson who was in the store appeared to be an eager accomplice in what I consider to be extremely inappropriate behaviour. Over many years, I have purchased five mattresses from Mattress Mart. Given what occurred, I will never go back to Mattress Mart and can't recommend this business to anyone. I would have given a rating with no stars, but you must give at least 1 star when submitting a review.

I tried various mattresses--Loom & Leaf, Naturepedic, and Savvy Rest. I liked the zoning that Obasan offers and hoped it would offer targeted back support. My hopes have borne true. This is probably the most comfortable bed I've ever slept on--enveloping and yet also still firm. Even though one can normally expect a period of adjustment, I've had no adjustment issues as yet. I woke up feeling better than I have in as long as I can remember. For those of you who can't try out this bed in person (I was one of these customers), I wouldn't let this deter you if this mattress is within your budget. Obasan's representative told me that the majority of their sales are over the phone. After taking information about their client (height, weight, sleeping position, age), they have a "formula" for how to configure your bed. Even in instances when I have personally tested out mattresses that felt comfortable in the showroom, I have often been disappointed after sleeping on the mattress later. I learned that testing out a mattress in person is no guarantee that the mattress will work; in my case, the majority of those purchases actually didn't work for me in the end. Obasan has a 90-day exchange period as well to make any adjustments to the latex components. I liked being led through the process and feeling like I was being personally taken care of. Their bedding is also the most exquisite I've personally seen. Their summer wool duvet was just gorgeous (I just bought another one I like it so much), and the mattress protector constructed with attention to detail. This may read as an effusive post, but after a rather wearying experience over the past five months trying out different mattresses, it's difficult to suppress my happiness.

They left my old mattress and box standing upright against the wall, creating a clear safety hazard in my home. I had no choice but to let them leave and then contacted customer service. Somehow, I was connected to staff at The Brick store at 565 W Hunt Club Rd, Ottawa. The store staff told me the disposal fee would be refunded but that pickup could no longer be arranged. Instead of addressing the discrepancy between the website and the delivery team, she told me to "just google someone" to pick it up. Her tone was dismissive and unprofessional, and her comment was insulting. I called to solve one problem, but her behavior created a second problem. Later, my wife was told the disposal would be rescheduled and the delivery fee waived, but this still did not address the wasted time, the extra work of driving to the store to get disposal bags and wrapping the items myself, or the unprofessional conduct of the customer service agent--none of which matched the information on the website. While the bed is the preferred choice, I feel that this option (which we offered last week) is reasonable. James agrees the previous conversation was unfortunate and apologized and provided information about the progress of our bed. He said he will look into why we were told we'd have to pay for delivery as that should not have happened. I said thank you and that I did not require a follow up about this staff issue. This is more like our previous experience with Dufresne. When we get our bed I will adjust my review. ********** A number of years ago we purchased a living room set from Dufresne. It was a pleasant and efficient experience without any issues. We were so impressed we've been recommending this company for many years. We returned to purchase a fold out couch and matching love seat on the last weekend in December 2024. Great service. The following weekend we returned to buy a bedroom set. Great service. We were told it would be an 8-10 week wait instead of the usual 6-8 week delivery because it was a special order. We thought this was weird because the "special" part was choosing one of three colours available to us for a small rectangular portion of the headboard made of fabric. Hardly custom, but whatever. We let it go. What's two weeks? Who cares. We were promised white glove service where they bring it in a set it up. Awesome. All in all we dropped almost 10 grand. We have received everything we ordered, with the white glove service, except this bed. The furniture we have received is great, but, while a portion of the bed is available, we are told the headboard is not. We are now at 13 weeks without our bed. When we hit week 10 we asked about the ETA. Nobody knew but somebody in Winnipeg or wherever did. We asked them to reach out and let know when we can expect the bed. After no response we inquired again last week. Still no response about an ETA from the guy who should know. We asked if they could deliver our mattress as we are middle aged and our bodies are getting pretty angry about sleeping on a fold out bed for weeks. Sure, they, said. Pay 50 bucks and we'll drop it off at the curb. We were told we had two deliveries per order available to us. Two orders equals a total of four deliveries, right? No. We've had two deliveries and one of them had furniture from both orders so that means that one trip is two deliveries. So much for white glove service. Or customer service. Or working in good faith as we did. What a slap in the face. They failed to do their part, we are trying to make it work, and they want more money. Yes, we're pretty angry, but more than that we are sad and disappointed. We're not naive. Stuff like this happens all the time, but we honestly thought Dufresne was better than this. Certainly we've told others this in the past. So, our headboard is nowhere to be found, the guy who can at least let us know is ignoring our reasonable request, and the management of this outlet does not seem to care. And we continue to sleep badly each night on a fold out bed.

The .75 inch sag level is measured when the mattress is not in use rather than when I sleep on it. I wonder how many mattresses need to be replaced over the 25 year guarntee period using that criterion. I cannot sleep on the mattress. It's unuseable. It's like sleeping in a bowl. To date, I have spent $2000 treating my back injury caused by the Tempurpedic mattress. I am now sleeping in the spare bedroom on an IKEA mattress and frame. If needed, I could have replaced the IKEA mattress at least 4 times over the 8 years since we bought the Tempurpedic mattress. The Tempurpedic mattress is not worth the cost. I would not recommend it. I would also rename their customer service unit to the Claim Rejection Unit as it provides no service. In sum, the Tempurpedic mattress guarantee is worthless as is Dufresne's strong recommendation to buy it.
