Horrible customer service. Assistant manager Jean is rude and the staff are simply not pleasant. Will not shop here again!

They also sell their plants online and their website is up-to-date with their current inventory, so if it's not online, they don't have it. This is unlike some other stores where they don't post everything they have in-store, so you might find items in-store that are not posted online. The store is hidden in an industrial park, so you have to go looking for it. Unlikely that you would just drive by and see it. I recently got into plants so I was poking around Google Maps looking for plant stores and found this store that way. They have a good variety of plants and I like how they group plants that can tolerate low light and they indicate which plants are non-toxic to pets. Their plants are all in relatively good shape in contrast with plants at big box stores which sometimes are in poor condition. Their plants are more expensive than big box stores and large greenhouses like Robert Plante Greenhouses, which is to be expected. For example, they had Fenestraria Rhopalophylla (Baby Toes succulents) for $16.99 whereas they are $12.99 at Robert Plante and between $4.99-$9.99 at big box stores. However, I would say their prices are comparable with other small plant stores in the city. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Free parking available in the strip mall parking lot. Review #80 (2025)

The bushes are gone, but the space is crying for new items to display there, although I have now planted a few smaller items. Those wild rose bushes are impossible to find in the stores! Lowes has them planted in the parking lot, but none in the store. The staff doesn't even know what I'm asking for! At least I could show them... ... Which is more than I could say for Richmond Nursery. :-( There are no wild rose bushes in the nursery or nearby. They had a lot of other stuff which was ok, but not what I want. Mind you, the nursery is quite big, and the staff was helpful trying to find something that might be suitable. For me, the rose bushes they had on offer were nice, but were about $30.00 each, which is more than I want to pay when I'd need 4 or 5 to fill the space. So, I'm still looking...

I call up the day before sheepishly wondering whether I could get "Something nice" delivered the next day. The woman on the other end explained that most of the deliveries they did were for interlocking stone, and that it would probably be unreasonably pricey to have some flowers or a plant delivered. But wait: where did my mother live? And what exactly was I looking for? Long story short: an inexplicably kind woman named Sam, and her horticulturalist friend Sierra, Not only helped me figure out what I wanted (here I was the stereotypical clueless male), but also sussed out that Sam lived near my parents, and would be happy to take several plants home with her, and to deliver the goods the morning of my mother's birthday. If you can believe it, there's actually a good deal more to the feel good story, but suffice to say that Sam's kindness left my head spinning. My teenaged daughter overheard to a good bit of the conversation I had when making my order, and remarked: "Canadians are always so nice". Yeah, maybe, but still: that kind of spirit is hard to find.

Nicely curated selection with prices comparable to other small plant stores. The Long Version: Fringe & Foliage is hidden in plain sight. It's in a little low-rise building across from Westgate Shopping Mall. It's on Carling Ave, which is a main street, and I've driven by it many times without even noticing it. It's sandwiched between a bridal shop and a martial arts school. The name Fringe & Foliage is not immediately visible, the description is more prominent from the street. I actually thought the store was called "Hair Salon & Plant Store" because that's what's on the sign you can see from the street, lol. I popped in one day to check out their plant selection. The plant store area is spacious and open but doesn't have that many plants. However, their selection is well curated and they have only one or two of each type of plant. The plants seem to be well cared for too. I came in specifically looking for a Pleiospilos nelli (aka Split Rock plant), the Royal Flush variety which has a purplish hue to it, which they didn't have. They did have Lithops (aka Living Stones) though, but I already have Lithops. I still enjoyed looking around the store. I was told that the owners go to Montreal to pick up new plants and post it on their Instagram when they do. So I'll be keeping an eye on their IG. They also sell cute little knickknacks, like crocheted plants, enamel pins and stickers of street signs of streets in the neighbourhood. It's a cute store. And staff were pleasant. They have a limited amount of inventory that they display in the store. The rest of their items are in their warehouse. You look through their catalog using their on-site computers and it will tell you if the item you want is on display (if that's the case, you just find it and get it and check out) or in their warehouse. If it's in their warehouse, you jot down the item number and bring it to the staff and they will get it for you from the warehouse. I am totally going to date myself by saying this, but the set up is a little bit like the now defunct Consumers Distributing. Does anyone remember that store? Lol. They were much more low tech back then of course, you'd have to look through an actual paper catalog to find the item number, lol. Staff here are always very pleasant. They genuinely seem like they enjoy being there. They are easy-going and have a calm demeanor. The vast majority of them are in their golden years and it appears to me like it's their post-retirement gig to get out of the house and make some extra money, lol. I could be wrong, but this is my perception. The prices are on the higher end, but I find the quality of their products are also high and they have unique items that are hard to find elsewhere. They have lots of free parking on-site in their private parking lot. If you love innovative gadgets or tools that are a bit nicer than the ones you'd find at your average hardware store, give Lee Valley a look-see.

I hired the Home Depot to install a new toilet in November 2023. The home depot sub contracts toilet installs to another company (Quick Contractors). They sent a guy with no experience to install the toilet. The installer installed the toilet incorrectly and on an angle. The toilet leaked and caused thousands of damage to the floor and ceiling below. I have been given the run around from Home Depot and Quick Contractors to repair the damage. These two big companies decided to pass off all responsibility to the installers private insurance who has been ignoring my emails and calls. I have informed both companies there has been no progress or resolution in site. The contractors private insurance has claimed they have not accepted fault for the damage yet, even though it has been made clear the installer was at fault. A 2nd installer was sent out from Quick Contractors to reinstall the toilet and report back on what caused the damage. The 2nd installer clearly stated the leak was from improper installation and took pictures. Attached are photos of the toilet installed on an angle and the water leaking out of the base soaking a drop cloth. If you think hiring a big company like Home Depot will have your back with any warranty issues think again. My house is supposed to be on the market for sale but will be delayed until the repairs are final.
