I went to Lowes with a specific washer in mind,to purchase but the Sales man (Rocco)told me they did not have it in stock&showed me another&I agreed to purchase that; Whirl pool top loading washer 4.4 WHICH WHIRL POOL STATES SHOULD LAST 10-13 YRS....3 MONTHS&3WEEKS LATER(JULY 8)this washing machine stops functioning... It will not drain &would stop in wash cycle; I approach the Manager who says to me"are you sure an electrical storm wasnt the cause of the control panel being fried"???? I did not get any help whatsoever! I was treated very poorly by this manager! Anyways..the repair man tells me after replacing the main control board,that the motor is rusted out!!!Are you kidding me??? I have been waiting 3 weeks for repairs to be completed&was told that they're still waiting for a motor!!! Thats right!!no washer for over 2 months!!! Seems fishy to me that a brand new WHIRL POOL washing machine's control panel&motor both were garbage!!!i In less than 4 months!!?? Apparently Lowes re stocks with returned merchandise! COULD I HAVE GOTTEN A RETURNED ITEM??? Iwent today &spoke to another Manager (pat)who was much nicer about it; He doesnt understand how i got such a bad washing machine&i asked if maybe they had sold me this washer by mistake? Perhaps it was a return &given to me by mistake??? He also stated that he didnt understand why my washer wasnt exchanged UNDER THE CIRCUMSTANCES! I was working on a home project building a self watering above ground planter. I was installing a metal frame on one side that would be against the house and would not be accessible once installed. This would be used to attach a fence for plants to crawl up on. However I needed to drill some holes in the metal to connect the pieces. The drill bits I had worked great with wood but would not pierce through this metal and was in fact dulling the bits after I had recently sharpened them. Doing some research on the internet I learned that the best bits for metal were cobalt drill bits. I checked my local stores like Canadian Tire and Rona but they did not have them. I found some on Amazon but it would take a few days for delivery. Then I found Lowes had them in stock in their store. So I ordered some for pickup around 5 PM. The next day by 9AM I received an email saying they were ready for pickup. I shot down there right away and received very pleasant service from the Pick up clerk/cashier and left a very happy customer. Arriving home I was very anxious to use these bits to see if they could perform. They cut through the metal like butter and gave me a great sense of accomplishment in both the job I was doing and using a good high quality product made by DeWalt. Do not expect quick service especially for their in store delivery service even for a single item like a ladder and you are within 8 kms from their store and you paid $80. Told by one of their phone operators that I should be happy to has delivery within a week during the summer despite their misleading online saying I would have it within 2-days. I live in an apartment so I don't have too many hardware needs. But, I was putting up some shelves in a closest and didn't have studs, so I needed some screws and anchors to support the shelf's weight. The associate that helped me get the right kind of anchor was very helpful--I'd say he was keen actually. He was knowledgable and friendly. I liked that he took the time to ask what my project was so he could make an educated recommendation about what screw/anchor combo to use. The whole interaction was pleasant and quick and I felt confident with the purchase. The cashier was also very friendly. The store itself was super clean and well stocked. The store had just opened when I visited, so I hope they can keep up this standard of service and cleanliness. 15/30 read more

The products and prices are usually pretty good at lowe's but the customer service at the location on Hunt Club is the Worse! The only person that is knowledgeable is the Australian or New Zealand guy who works there. He is great. But I hesitate to go there because the cashiers always screw up, and customer service is brutally slow and they are either not knowledgeable or are untrained. Also their return policies are more strict than other stores. For example we bought a toilet that was defective, and we couldn't return it! I get the whole sanitary thing, but we spend hundreds on a toilet that we could not return. We even called the manufacturer for parts and it still leaked. Finally since we couldn't return it we used caulking! It was such a hassle for weeks and we are still having issues with it! When talking to the plumbing guy at Rona, he said that they would've taking back the toilet in that case, since it was defective. So goes to prove that other places really put the customer first. I've also had tons of issues with items not scanning right, like carpeting here. It took forever to get the pricing resolved as the cashiers had no clue what to do. Ugh so frustrating. Also renting a vehicle is a hassle. Make sure you have a paper copy of your insurance with you. Anyways, I will be avoiding this place as much as possible unless they have a good paint sale. It's a box store so I don't expect super personal service, trying to buy something over the phone was so painful that I'm not really impressed. I called, dutifully pressed the right buttons for my desired department, was told to call the cash, which I did, which then put me on hold several times - and forgetting who I was each time. When I got the department again, guess what - they told me to call the cash. Hopefully they're easier to deal with in-store. I also tried to recycle a lithium battery from a cell phone ... the employee told me "we don't take those" ... "Fine" I thought ... until I spun around and examined the wall of battery recycling boxes. Sure enough, there is a specific box for cell phone batteries. Anyway it's a new store so I guess many people are new, but still. Wow. No wonder online shopping is so popular. read more

Installations take a long time. I ordered blinds and still waiting 6 weeks later. Even though it took 3.5 weeks for Lowes to receive them from the manufacturer, the installers have yet to call me. If you need something fast, try elsewhere. read more

Went to pick up our order as we got notice it was available. Parked in pick up zone and called the number as they requested to have someone bring ours out to the car and was told about 10 min. After watching all the cars before us and then 9 cars that arrived after us get their stuff and leave, asking an attendant what's up, and being told our stuff is out on the floor for delivery but waiting another 10min, we asked to see the manager to ask what's going on. Another guy was in the same situation watching endlessly other cars get theirs and leave (he just left), the manager comes out, berates me for wasting his time and telling me he needs me to understand they are busy and he just received more orders. When I asked how that had anything to do with why some are getting immediate service and some of us are waiting up to 45 min and no clue if they found my order on the floor, he just stairs me down in silence, then finally goes in and gets it. They don't give a sh!t. You would think they would give half a care to make sure you get your stuff somewhat in order to respect customers. Plan an hour of waiting and expect being cut down by an irate manager when service is unacceptable. We're not buying from them anymore for sure. read more

Store had what I needed but when I went to the cashier to pay, they did not take the tap feature on the card reader for my debit card. Paid with the same debit card by entering PIN number etc. etc. My purchase was just under 13 dollars. It went through no problem. When I asked why no tap feature the cashier said " We are an American company and we don't have that." Really!!! Welcome to Canada!! I hope they make America great again. Poorest customer service I've experienced in a long time, during multiple visits. Most staff seem unwilling to assist and 6 people waiting in line for a single cash, while 4 other staff watch is unacceptable. Appears to be lack of customer service training and poor management. Nice store, but poor product availability and terrible service has lost this customer, who will drive the extra 10 minutes to Home Depot, who value customer service. Good luck Lowes read more

If there was an option of no stars or negative stars I would use it here. Exceptionally poor customer service for a warranty water heater issue. After being talked into purchasing a unit with a 9 year warranty I found that Lowe's Kanata would not honour any warranty beyond their 90 day guarantee. I'm not getting the support I need from the manufacturer, and Lowe's Kanata- the vendor who took my money - won't offer any assistance. After multiple failures and expensive service calls I was left to replace the unit after 32 months, and left with the full cost of new heater (ultimately purchased elsewhere) and more installation costs. The blatant lack of concern or offer of assistance is why I will never shop at Lowe's Kanata again. I'll pay more for a product in order to not deal with Lowes Kanata. After multiple big-dollar projects and literally tens of thousands of dollars spent at Lowes I would have hoped that they would have helped me out with a clear warranty issue. Amazing that a business will lose thousands of dollars of my future expenditures over a $600 issue that should be theirs to help solve. I am happy to follow this review up more positively should it become resolved. read more
