Food here was really good. Came here from out of town on a Saturday night. I didnt have reservations, but came here after I called in to see if they were able to take two in a few minutes. When we got there, it took a few minutes to get a table ready for us, but we were seated shortly after. We were served by a waitress named Emily and she was very courteous. We ordered the the lobster dragon dumplings and they were really good. We also ordered the lobster and red shrimp pad thai. It was presented wrapped up in a egg wrapping and peanuts on the outside edge. This dish was so very good It was filling enough for two people. For drinks, we has the secret meeting cocktail and it hit the spot. So yummy. Ambiance was beautiful and classy. Such a beautiful spot

Lee is flashy and lavish, and the experience delivers in some ways and falls short in others. I loved the decor and thought the service was very attentive. The signature salad was good, but wildly overpriced just for the experience of watching them toss the salad at your table. The fried tofu dish was fine, but I found it weird that they used a tofu that is closer to silken than extra firm. The accompanying sauce was tasty. Drinks looked good on the menu, the ingredients were very thoughtful, but upon drinking them I wasn't blown away. But they are still good! I didn't have anything off of the dessert menu but I was impressed by how considered it was. Dessert is often an afterthought and cash grab at restaurants. This was not; the desserts looked fascinating and different.

We went to Lee for dinner. The Signature Singapore Slaw was excellent -- I enjoyed the wonderful mix of textures and flavours. 5 stars The other dishes were fine (e.g. Shrimp cheung fun, chicken), but not as outstanding at the slaw. Service was good. Beautiful restaurant.

I really enjoyed my experience at Lee. From the inventive menu to the superb service, it was a meal to remember. The wait staff were so friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. They checked in just the right amount, offered great recommendations, and never made us feel rushed despite us staying for hours! My group of 3 ordered two appetizers and two mains to share (family style) and were very full by the end of our meal. Every dish was presented beautifully. We also each ordered a cocktail from their extensive drink list. Standout Dishes: 1. Their signature slaw is an absolute delight. 25 ingredients that they explain while mixing and prepping the salad tableside. Perfect level of crunch, unique vegetables, just fantastic. 2. The black cod dish is phenomenal. The fish literally melts in your mouth and the accompaniments are also very tasty. We also ordered the crab cake and green curry chicken, both of which we felt were a let down compared to the other items. The cocktails were also very underwhelming for the steep price. Amazing experience but I'd say the food itself can be hit or miss.

Located in the Waterworks Building the restaurant has a separate entrance facing Richmond Street. Despite having been in the restaurant industry for years Lee is still very popular. On a Monday night the restaurant was full. Our reservations were for 6 and by 7:30 the restaurant was full. Food is very Asian fusion and is served with the intent of eating family style. Being Chinese there were lots of dishes with familiar names that I grew up with ie., Cheung fun and Tong Yuen. We were a group of three and the recommendation was 4-6 dishes. What was ordered: The Singapore style slaw (signature dish) Cheeseburger Spring Rolls Luckee Spicy Shrimp Cheung Fun (signature dish) Pad Thai (with shrimp and lobster) Apple Tarte Tatin - dessert Signature Tong Yuen - dessert Caesar Element (non alcoholic) The Emperor (drink of the night) Presentation is excellent. The slaw is mixed table side with a full explanation of what's in it. The cheeseburger spring rolls were different and are served with lettuce wrapped around a deep fried spring roll filled with beef and cheese. The lettuce helped break up what could have been a heavy appetizer. The only part we didn't really like was the filing which had a bit of a pasty consistency. The Cheung fun is a a different spin and despite being labelled spicy it wasn't really at all. Service is professional and attentive. This is considered fine dining so prices are at the upper end but the experience was great.

We are in Toronto for TIFF50 to see a film directed by and starred in by a client of nearly 30 years. The evening prior to the film premiere we attended a dinner in the client's honor hosted by his personal manager. This is the restaurant the manager and his spouse selected for the dinner, which seemed to be for about 25-30 people. They selected LEE based on a past visit they had made to Toronto when they discovered this gem of a restaurant. We had a private room for this affair. However, having had the chance to move around the restaurant it is lovely and upscale. No one would be embarrassed in bringing a special someone here. The menu this evening was pre-selected and diverse. It was even longer than shown in the photo I provided, as there were 2 or 3 additional dishes. Every dish went from simply great to amazing. Our favorite though was the second course, which was the Signature Singaporean Slaw (my wife thought she took a photo of this salad, but sadly was mistaken, as it was presented as a colorful tower that then was tossed at the table). There was ample glasses of wine too throughout the evening, so many there was no way to count. Our hosts put on an absolutely spectacular event. Bravo. However, I am certain based on all the dishes we sampled that anyone coming here, even for a quiet casual dinner will be knocked out by the special presentations and tastes. I also recall the lead server mentioning the chef had been on one of the top chef master shows, which came as no surprise. I will add a few photos I took of a couple of dishes. Any blurry photos though I attribute to my wife!

Dinner at Lee Restaurant: flavour-packed, beautifully plated, and good service! We got: * The Catalan wild cod croquettes * 7-spiced braised beef baos * The Malaysian-style black peppercorn beef * French apple tarte tatin - my favourite dessert of the night. Warm, flaky, and not too sweet. * Sai Mai Lo All from the Summerlicious menu and every dish was full of fun, layered flavours. Highlight: * The Singapore style slaw (off the regular menu): stunning to look at and to eat. So much texture, colour, and depth. A must-order. The whole experience was amazing with delicious food, thoughtful presentation, beautiful decor, and good service.

Lee is hands-down one of my favourite restaurants in Toronto, and for good reason. Chef Susur Lee has created a dining experience that feels both high-class and welcoming, with a gorgeous dining room, beautifully plated dishes, and service that is consistently friendly and attentive. We started the evening with cocktails, which were not only delicious but also visually stunning. They set the perfect tone for the night. The food here is where Lee truly shines. The signature Singapore Style Slaw is a must-order: a colourful tower of over 20 ingredients, tossed together tableside. It is refreshing, crunchy, and full of vibrant flavours that you will remember long after the meal. The spicy Thai crab cake was another highlight, with just the right amount of heat and a perfectly crisp exterior that gave way to tender, flavourful crab. For mains, we shared the lobster and shrimp pad thai, which elevated a familiar dish into something special with silky noodles, a rich sauce, and sweet, succulent seafood tying it all together. The Top Chef curry roasted chicken lived up to its name, with juicy, tender meat and a deeply fragrant curry that was both comforting and refined. To finish, the black sesame crème brûlée was a showstopper. Creamy, nutty, and perfectly caramelized on top, it was an elegant twist on a classic dessert and the perfect ending to the meal. Every plate at Lee is a balance of creativity, precision, and flavour. It is fine dining that does not feel pretentious, just truly memorable. This is the kind of restaurant you come back to again and again, whether it is a special occasion or simply because you want to treat yourself. Easily a 5 out of 5.

An upscale and ambient spot for date night or catching up with friends! We decided to get a variety of dishes to share, and everyone agreed that the Singapore slaw was the highlight. I also enjoyed the miso cod and the Thai crab cake. The restaurant had a lot of servers which was nice, but they didn't seem to communicate often/well with one another - e.g. a server started taking away our dish as we were still eating.

I got the winterlicious three-course meal and every item tasted amazing. The presentation was superb and every staff member was attentive and so nice. The interior design was not overstimulating. Every part of my experience was top notch. I will definitely dine here again!

They have both a la cart and tasting menu with 8 courses. The a la cart menu was pretty big so we wanted to try some of the items. The Singapore Slaw is definitely a must-order and their signature dish. Also enjoyed the black cod and Thai crab cakes. Interior is very modern and classy. I thought the service could've been a bit better. Servers were attentive, but there seemed to be some confusion sometimes - one server came to tell us our last dish is on its way and another server came 1 min after asking if he can clear the plates... just thought service would be more organized.

What a beautiful experience! I haven't been to this new location since it opened. I was floored at how big it is and how beautiful it is. We have reservations and so we were seated quite quickly. Our server explained to us the holiday special drink, and we were both intrigued so we got it. Of course we had the slaw. I have to say it's not as great as I remember it, but it was decent. The food we had was all vegetarian, and it was insanely flavourful.

Party of 2 for a Birthday dinner on Sat @ 5:30pm Nov 2024. The restaurant is located on a very quiet section of Richmond St. We were immediately greeted upon entering the restaurant and were offered coat service which we declined. The overall service was fantastic, as expected. Our table was near the back of the restaurant and had low banquette seating on the inside and side and chair on the outside. This was really nice as we were able to place all our bags (a little pre-dinner shopping) and coats on the side out of the way. Next a server came by and took our drink order. Afterwards our main server came by and introduced the menu and advised there was a tasting menu, which we immediately ordered. There were 7 courses in total: Potato & Leek Soup, Baked Sunseeker Oyster, Signature Singapore Style Slaw, Lobster & Shrimp Al Nero Dumpling, Palate Cleanser, Seared Alberta Steak with Asian Spiced Braised Beef Agnolotti, Desert Trio (Double Chocolate Meringue & Mouse Rum Cake, Seakbuckthorn Gelle with Dragon Fruit, Warm Apple & Rhubarb Tart). Each dish was superb and such an experience in flavours. Our favourites were the first 4 dishes. The Singapore Style Slaw was amazing, the combination of so many different fresh ingredients and textures; the best salad I've every had. We will definitely come back in the future to try some of their other signature plates.

Truffe fried rice had a beautiful aroma but the truffe flavor wasnt as strong. Just missed the mark with me on this one but truly had high hopes for it. Great ambiance. Friendly service. Two levels. Bar seating available as well.
