Unfortunately, this place was not very good. I ordered the Tonkatsu ramen and my boyfriend got the salmon teriyaki bento box. The broth of the ramen was very thin and bland and the chasu had a smell that I wasn't a fan of (but it tasted good still) . The noodles were very good, great consistency and chewy yum! The salmon teriyaki sauce was amaze balls but I cannot say the same for the salmon itself which had an off putting after taste. I give 3 starts because the owner was an absolute doll, I would come back and try something just because of her and her wonderful energy. I will definatley give this place another shot. read more

Honestly, I don't know what all the 5 star reviews are all about. I'm beginning to think that Utah can't get a new restaurant without everyone thinking it's amazing. Pleasantly surprised with this small corner restaurant! We ordered ramen, sashimi, poke bowls & sushi burrito - and everything was good and really fresh. Prices are reasonable, it should only be a one $ sign, not $$. The owners are super nice, the place is really clean, including the bathrooms. Wow! This place is awesome! We had tonkatsu ramen, miso ramen and sushi Burrito! All of them tasted fantastic. The owner told us they made the tonkatsu soup from scratch, and take more than 4 hours everyday! The sushi burrito is also very unique. Okay, lets just get this out and be up front...this place is not fast. They make your food fresh. It's not sitting under heating lamps in the back so yeah, you're gonna wait a little bit. But the food is tasty and the owners are the sweetest people. The man always treats us so well and makes sure we are happy! Bland ramen, decent sushi. A small mom and pop type shop with amazing service, situated in the plaza, across the south street of South Towne mall (East of the Shell gas station). The good - The sushi options, though limited, were great. The fish seemed pretty fresh and the flavors were on point. The owner is super friendly. I love small mom and pop shops and the service and feel of them. The bad - I came here mainly for the ramen after seeing the initial reviews praising the ramen and was disappointed. I've had ramen from all over (Japan, Korea, New York, Vegas, No/So. Cali, various Utah joints) and the Tonkotsu ramen was super bland, thin, plain, and light. Usually a bowl of Tonkotsu ramen broth has just the right amount of thickness in the broth that it fills me up. The chashu pork was super thin, no real garnishes (bamboo shoots, mushrooms and/or ginger), and the traditional "soft boiled" ramen egg was completely overcooked. We were also disappointed with the udon as it was also pretty plain and bland. For now, I can only recommend this place if you want some pretty fresh sushi / sushi burritos and super friendly service. Unless the ramen and udon get changed up, I would recommend staying away from those options. 4 stars for service, 4 stars for sushi, 1 star for the ramen read more

This place has become a regular go-to for my husband and me. I'm not sure anyone can beat Lee when it comes to customer service. The guy is pure-hearted to the core!! There was a small fire at a shop in the same strip mall and it affected all the other establishments. We called to order and luckily the guys cleaning the place answered the phone to inform us that the place wasn't open due to soot. But he mentioned that he had never seen a cleaner kitchen in his life. And that only contributed to our love for the place. AND! We learned that the guy gets fresh ingredients every single day. My first time there so attempted to use 10% off for checking in on yelp and the owners (which I'm pretty certain) were very confused and said only thing they had was buy 9 sushi burritos and get 10 free. They seem genuinely confused my yelp deal so don't know what that was about but irritant #1. Then they were out of chicken teriyaki. How can you be out right before the dinner rush? Went yesterday and we had a good meal. I ordered the ramen with the California roll appetizer. $11.99 the good: the broth is Hakata style and was very tasty. One of the better broths that I have had in SLC. The noodles itself were slightly over done but nonetheless still had a bit of chew, though not as much as it should have. I got 2 pieces of pork, sprouts a bit of nori and half a boiled egg. Would I order this again? Yes, because the broth was very good. The California roll was another matter. They cut it in 10 pieces. they should have cut it into 8. The end pieces were the right side but the middle pieces were cut so thin that it would fall apart when picked up with chopsticks. Had they cut it in a uniform manner it would have been fine. My wife had the chicken teriyaki bowl. $8.99 It was a decent portion and my wife said it was delicious. I would have preferred large cut pieces of chicken but, for her it was fine. She said she would order it again. All in all, it was a pleasant experience. They have seating but it is more of a fast food concept. It is a Japanese food restaurant run by a very pleasant Korean Man. I assume this is Lee. I did not try any of the sushi but, the prices of the nigiri was good. it was like 6 pieces of $8.99 The only negative was that they only offered Maguro,(tuna), Sake (salmon) and Ebi (shrimp). Why is this place rated so high?? I ordered takeout and at home I realized there was no wasabi or ginger... I've never had to ask for it before. And I've never had a soy sauce I disliked until today. It didn't taste normal, I don't even know how to explain it. Must have been a super cheap brand or something? The fish had hardly any flavor.
