Went yesterday and we had a good meal. I ordered the ramen with the California roll appetizer. $11.99 the good: the broth is Hakata style and was very tasty. One of the better broths that I have had in SLC. The noodles itself were slightly over done but nonetheless still had a bit of chew, though not as much as it should have. I got 2 pieces of pork, sprouts a bit of nori and half a boiled egg. Would I order this again? Yes, because the broth was very good. The California roll was another matter. They cut it in 10 pieces. they should have cut it into 8. The end pieces were the right side but the middle pieces were cut so thin that it would fall apart when picked up with chopsticks. Had they cut it in a uniform manner it would have been fine. My wife had the chicken teriyaki bowl. $8.99 It was a decent portion and my wife said it was delicious. I would have preferred large cut pieces of chicken but, for her it was fine. She said she would order it again. All in all, it was a pleasant experience. They have seating but it is more of a fast food concept. It is a Japanese food restaurant run by a very pleasant Korean Man. I assume this is Lee. I did not try any of the sushi but, the prices of the nigiri was good. it was like 6 pieces of $8.99 The only negative was that they only offered Maguro,(tuna), Sake (salmon) and Ebi (shrimp). Why is this place rated so high?? I ordered takeout and at home I realized there was no wasabi or ginger... I've never had to ask for it before. And I've never had a soy sauce I disliked until today. It didn't taste normal, I don't even know how to explain it. Must have been a super cheap brand or something? The fish had hardly any flavor. We ended up throwing all the rolls away and only keeping the miso soup. The miso was pretty good. The owners were really sweet and accommodating here. We had the Tonkotsu ramen bowls and the house poke bowl. The ramen broth was creamy and had that savory cooked for hours flavor that I had been craving. The noodles were the perfect texture and the pork was fatty and yummy. Poke bowl was fresh, pretty to look at and just a wonderful burst of yummy flavors from the sea. I guess I'm just not a big fan of the sushi burrito concept. This was my first one and I was kind of excited to give it a try. But, what I got for my $11 purchase was a lot of rice, spicy mayo and some cukes inside a seaweed wrap, with one deep fried shrimp and some tuna slices. Not a lot of bang for the buck I'd say. I'd have been a lot more content paying $6 for a couple of tuna nigiri pieces. The "burrito" was served without any ginger or wasabi so I ate the first half, which lacked much flavor, before going to the counter to ask for some ginger and wasabi. They came in a little sealed plastic container. To put it on the food, I had to stick my finger into it to dig out what they called wasabi. It had no zest or spice so I really doubt it really is wasabi. Just soylent green goop. The restaurant is clean, colorful and fun, and the people who work there are nice. I just can't get off on the food. So, sorry to say, I won't be returning and will likely avoid similar places with this type of fare. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I waited over an hour for one sushi roll and one bowl of ramen. When it finally arrived 1 hour and 7 minutes later the ramen was cold and tasted like store bought cup of noodles and the sushi roll was no better. Do not waste your time or money at this place. Obviously I didn't read the reviews because we thought it was a sit-down sushi restaurant, but we were greeted by a very friendly owner (or it seemed like she was the owner). We ended up ordering Mars roll and crazy tuna burrito. I thought the sushi burrito was on a bit expensive side, but tasted good. The Mars roll was stacked high with crab like I've never seen before and also tasted amazing! Stopped by this restaurant today, they have so many delicious food and options on their menu. First impression is the so clean and trendy ambience here. We went in a group of 11 people and I think this is also a great place for group of people. For the appetizer, I tried their fried onion rings, squid, sesame Balls, cheese sticks and spring rolls. All of them are very crisp and delicious. For the entry, I tried tiger roll, Mr myagi, ramen noodles. All the rolls are very good, really authentic Japanese flavor. And their ramen noodle is a must try. The noodle soup has their secret ingredients and it is so yummy yummy. Also, They have plenty free parking spots around their restaurant. Their servers are so lovely and friendly and patient. I am so happy we have this authentic Japanese sushi ramen restaurant in our town, I will definitely come back again and again. So delicious ! We ordered the tiger, playboy, mars, dynamite, dragon and challenger rolls. They were all excellent. The blazin dragon was our families favorite. We also had cream cheese wontons and chicken teriyaki bowls for the less adventurous group. The wontons stayed crispy even through delivery. Everything was really excellent and tasted fresh. My brother-in-law Brandon's neighbor opened Sushi Stix in Sandy in the strip mall exactly south of South Town Mall. He wanted to try it and invited Tanya and I to try it. I was genuinely impressed with the quality of the food and the price. The Ramen bowls were great. The sushi was great too. I think it is an amazing place to get great sushi at a great price. His place was fun, it's different, and I enjoyed that it was close to home and a lot cleaner than the more recent "fast food" sushi places in the area. I didn't love that the fish was very strong, which to me says it's probably not so good, and the rice didn't have the texture of normal "fresh" rice. I knew I was gonna like this place before I even walked in. I heard they had sushi burritos, rolls, poke bowls, ramen, etc., so I was sold. When I walked in I was greeted with a smile by the nice woman at the counter. I ordered a poke bowl (just to compare to the great poke I've had in the past) and the tonkatsu ramen. The ramen was absolutely incredible, probably the best I've had in Utah. It wasn't too heavy and too "porky", it had a nice flavor and crisp noodles (the perfect comfort food in my opinion). The poke, however, fell short. My reason for giving this review four stars instead of five is that the fish was not good quality and served in a really small portion with bland rice and veggies. If you're a new customer, skip the poke!!! I will be coming back.. maybe to try a roll or a burrito! read more
