Why don't they allow zero or minus stars on Yelp. This could be the worst cleaners I have ever been to and believe me, I've lived in NYC, I've seen it all! 1st lets just start with really bad and then get into the GOD AWFUL!
My wife brought a pair of pants for a simple hem in the length. She picked it up, tried them on and notices that they didn't do a single thing to the pants except press them. She brought them back and showed the girl Robin (who actually is quite nice) behind the counter who agreed. So they measure and put the hem request in again. She goes back a week later and what do you know, they didn't do a damn thing to the pants just pressed them again! It took a 3rd time and Robin had to call over to where Lee's sends their hems because as you may know, they don't do any of their own work, they send EVERYTHING out. Ok, so a month to have pants hemmed, could be worse. Well trust me it gets much worse. I go in and drop off a bunch of shirts to be dry cleaned. I have a pretty no mess job, don't drink coffee all day long, really don't eat in the car where food can spill all over me. So its safe to say my dry cleaning is pretty basic, no real stains ever. I pick up my shirts, get home, take them out of the plastic and my almost brand new Brooks Brothers cuffed dress shirt has what appears to be some kind of cleaner stain on it. Lets call it bleach but it wasn't bleach because the color didn't go to white it when to brown. This wasn't a small stain, I'm talking across the entire front of the shirt. It looked like it was squirt with a water gun. You know the type of stain I'm talking about, a big blotch and then a thin stream across it. I bring the shirt back, show it to the girl who agreed something must have happened to it and she would speak to the owner and asked if I could come back in a few days. So a week goes by, I return, the owner isn't there but she asks if I wouldn't mind speaking to him over the phone. Now, that was difficult enough because I could barely make out what he was saying but in a nut shell he blamed it on "cologne" being on the shirt or some kind of "alcohol that was invisible until cleaned." Mind you I don't wear cologne but I do like to booze from time to time and have spilt alcohol on my cloths. This would be some kind of new alcohol just invented that ruins when spilled. Maybe they invented it to help people quit drinking. But all that aside I can safely say I'm not boozing from 8am-5pm (at least during the week) so it wasn't the new invention of "Staining Alcohol". So obviously come choice words began to fly (I am from NJ) and when it was all said and done he refused to replace or pay for any of the shirt and of course I still paid for the cleaning when I first picked up the shirt that wasn't refunded!
Clearly I won't be returning, I may even start a petition to have them closed down. Obviously that won't happen because a week from now I'll be too lazy to even do that. I will however continue to give that place the middle finger every time I drive over to Harris Teeter!!
I blame myself, I should have trusted all the google reviews!
