I had the pleasure of experiencing Lecavalier Cellars wines at our Wine Appreciation Group (WAG) event and I purchased 3 bottles of their wine. I have enjoyed sharing these wines with friends. The wine is exceptionally good. My experience at WAG motivated me to visit the tasting room in Newcastle. The food was as exceptional as their wines. The decorum was clean, new, and modern with the right amount of ambiance. The service was good although the server seemed a bit edgy. He did is best and provided all that we requested, I must say. We had one fussy person in our group that made it a little difficult for him but he was clearly agitated by her. She didn't make a scene but commented constantly about things. Hopefully the politeness of the rest of us and the gratuity made up for that difficulty. We arrived at a good time because few people were there making parking easy but parking is very limited. The wine and food are so exceptional that it's unfortunate the capacity is not larger. We did not use the patio but it looked very nice, the concern was about traffic noise from I-80. I will be back without my fussy friend because I truly enjoyed this place. read more

Who needs to drive to the Napa Valley? Le Cavalier has a very nice tasting room, delicious food, and outstanding wine. This is a great place to enjoy a freshly-prepared lunch while tasting from their nice-sized list of varietals. Adding to this is their eco-friendly, sustainable philosophy: refundable, reusable bottles, temporary labeling, unique bottle shape, and a cork holder in the punk. We love this place! read more

We made a reservation on a Saturday and headed the suggestion to carpool. We took an Uber instead. Our reservation was seamless and Cherry was our server. The tasting room is modern and elegant with a lively outdoor patio. It is easy to miss the right turn after the Valero so take it slow when driving there. We all did the white and red tasting and everyone loved the wines. Our group all agreed on the Rose and Chardonnay. The Barbera needed to aerate a bit more and the Cab was solid. For a hot summer day (it was 100+ on our visit) the room was cool and inviting. We paired our wines with the meat and cheese platter and the Brie. While a bit more bread could be served (ask and they provide), the bites were delicious with our wines. The two all gender bathrooms were well maintained and clean. Definitely Uber or make an early reservation to get a parking spot. read more

We're members and always enjoy splitting the charcuterie board with our favorite glass of wine or tasting. The service is always top notch and like sitting outside when weather permits. I've been waiting to come here because well..we always need a new winery. Swung by impromptu ( with no resy) on a Saturday around 4pm. Two tables filled inside and outside. We had the exuberant and lovely Cherry as our server. We came for "just a glass of white" on our way home from the new Costco because reds sounded meh in the heat. She was sweet, nice and even offered to alter the tasting menu to accommodate our no-red needs ( although we are usually cab snobs). She informed us of all the deets of the winery, the fact that owner ( French Canadian aerospace guy) is building his winery in Penryn and will have a rotating ( on its axis) restaurant there one day! And stuff she didn't know, she found out from coworkers immediately. You can see to Mount Diablo and although highway 80 is in the way, so what. The menu looked amazing although we didn't eat and everyone around who ate? Never saw their food as their plates were scraped clean. I am slowly working my way through the Place wine trail and although there's no trees, rustic setting and a highway view? The staff is amazing, the bathroom are fun ( Dyson hand dryers and gorgeous light fixtures), inside is modern and the wines are good. Coming from spoiled Napa wines, this will do. Really nice addition to the area. Beautifully remodeled building. We really like their wines and appreciate that they offer great food to enjoy with the wines. Friendly, welcoming staff, often music on Thursdays. We are now wine club members and often take friends who all rave about the place. Highly recommend. read more

Overall great food, actually amazing food, good wine and service not bad, but felt weird like not assigned sections whoever walking by would check in on us. Overall impression: Excited to tell friends and visit again. Second time, had reservations midweek very disappointed. Food still good but out of many things so that was a bummer. The service was not good. Our server didn't come to take our order, had to go find her and ask if we could order dinner. It was most unusual she was setting tables for the next day. Then apparently her shift was over didn't know until another server came to say she left for the day, then saw her walking across the parking lot. High end finishes food and wine, but they need to get sorted servers that have experience. Will try one more time hopefully will have better service. Beautiful tasting room. Great wine. Our wine pourer was great and we had a nice visit. She gave us good personal service. We ended up buying some wine. It was a little expensive for this area but it was great wine. My only complaint was that the wine tasting room supervisor for that day brought her a task and while she was finishing our purchase she told her to polish some little spoons. I think it would have been better if she had waited until we were finished with our transaction. read more

She really took the time to explain the wine and the history of the brand. I loved the recycling capabilities of the bottles. Wine was delicious in particular I love the rose. Being super picky about handing out five stars, this place is almost there. Wine is great, view is great, service is amazing. Downsides (which can't be all blamed on establishment) parking, freeway noise, and black outdoor counters (get super hot), haven't had food, but if it's like the wine, I'm sure it's amazing...will be a regular. First time to this tasting room and WOW! The wines were amazing (tasted 4) and loved everyone of them. This is a rare experience for me. I can usually find one or two wines that I like but very unusual to love them all. The people that we were with also loved all of them. The staff was extremely friendly & welcoming and very knowledgeable about the wines. Although we did not eat there, (we had just had lunch) the food looked very good.
