It's a decent spot, cute tiny pool, updated playground, everything else is outdated, but they'll nickel and dime you! My parents were stayed there for a weekend because we live a mile away and they charged them $10 every time we just stopped by to visit! And the place was half empty! The Leander KOA has one of the cleanest, well maintained facilities we've camped at. Our doggie enjoyed the dog run area and the showers were a hit with the whole family. Our site in the back near the dog area was so nice with a patio. We were greeted by a newer staff member and also met the manager- both are so kind and helpful. Shopping is 6 minutes away at HEB Plus! Very close to highway 183 but no road noise. Really enjoyed this stay and will be back again. read more

DO NOT COME HERE! THIS PLACE IS A SCAM! I'm really kicking myself for not looking at the reviews before coming here. I picked this location because it was the most convenient as it was the closest to my house, even though they charge $25 which is $10-20 more than most other sites. I found this information on a website that had all waste dump prices for my surrounding area. I pulled up and walked into the office and right from the start the person behind the desk, Merry, was acting weird and looking at me funny which continued the entire time. I had my $25 in hand and I know she could see it, but when she finally got the computer ready to charge me she said "that'll be $50, do you want to pay with card". WHAT? $50 TO DUMP? I asked if it was $25 and Merry said no, they changed it a while back allegedly. YET, when I received my receipt it shows that she charged me for two individual dumps. She gave me some BS reason as to why it shows to charges, but at this point I was already furious and didn't want to say anything I would regret, so I just left the office and dumped. Other reviews also talk about their horrible experience with Merry. I hope this review helps at least one person from wasting their money here. read more

I've stayed here on and off through the years, one time as long as two (?) months. The owners are nice, down-to-earth people. I have a dog, and there is a huge dog run. There's a clean pool, good wifi, and beautiful showers. If I had any complaint, it's that there's not much countryside around to roam-- all fenced in, private fields. Not what I was expecting. If you're looking for quiet land with River/pond/lake, this is not it. If you are looking for a place to stay by a lot of big towns and cities, this place is the right place for you. It looks more like a noce trailer park for RV's. It's located less than 1/2 a mile from a major toll road. it is conveniently located near Georgetown, Cedar Park, Round Rock, and Austin. The playground, pool, and community room closes at 9:00 pm. Last October I had just sold my house and bought an RV to travel. I booked my first stay at Leander KOA, not far from my house, just to finish with getting rid of all my stuff and planning my adventure. I said I might stay until after the first of the year, not 100% sure yet. At about 3 weeks in I went into the office to see what my invoice was and I was SHOCKED to see that I had been charged $2100 for THREE WEEKS!! Now if grouchy Mary isn't reason enough not to stay there, this ridiculous $100/night certainly is. When I asked about it I was told, "Well you're not parked in a long-term site." I parked where they told me to when I arrived. That was a lame excuse. I think what's really going on is that Mary is trying to re-coop some revenue lost from all the bad reviews. It's for sure NOT a $100/nt kind of place. Don't book a stay here. Right now I'm living and working at Redbud Resort in Hutto. Our RV sites are less than $100/nt and the amenities are WAY better. read more

So, when your AC goes out on a Friday afternoon when the temps are over 100 degrees - and COVID is everywhere...you jump in your RV because that AC works and look for the park closest to home to spend a few days - with a pool as an added bonus. Made a reservation Friday afternoon for a late arrival - someone was there as a park host to help me find my spot in the dark. The grounds were kept VERY CLEAN - bathrooms and showers were spotless. Small-ish pool right sized for the number of pads - didn't really need much bigger. I will say that the price per night is more than you would expect to pay for the grounds, but keep in mind that they are in Leander, just 20 minutes from Austin...taxes keep getting higher and higher and they need to pay their bills just like everyone else. Being new to RV ownership we don't have a ton of experience with campgrounds but I was pleased with my stay and with the staff. Hope we come across more people like the folks here at KOA Leander. read more

This is probably one of the nicest KOA we have stayed at. And we have stayed at a lot of them in the US. The grounds are immaculate and the dog park is the biggest I have ever been to. The staff is so accommodating and very nice. The bathrooms and laundry room were also very very clean. The sites are long. I mean long. Sites are extremely long - plenty of room to park everything you are towing, however even though our RV, truck and bass boat fit on the site, we were charged an extra $10/ day for the truck and boat. We felt ripped off for the extra charge. If everything fits on the long site, it isn't right to charge extra. The dog park and pool were nice and the staff was mostly friendly. We probably would not stay here again just because of the extra fees. We paid a little over $800 for the campsite plus an additional $130 to park our truck and boat on the already paid for site we were on. Our stay was 12 days. I reached out to corporate KOA and was told all KOA's are individually owned and operated and that fees are determined by the owner. We were there for a fishing tournament and there were at least 20 of us that filled this campground. The owner should think twice about charging extras like this as none of us were happy and probably won't be back. We have never been over charged the way we were here. read more

Stopped by to get rates and for what the place is, rates were a joke. We made it known we would not pay nearly $1000/month to park a camper so the office lady 'Merry' let us know we could get rent cheaper by being work campers? She explained and harassed us for nearly 30 min about how we could work there for her for $10 an hour to pull weeds and clean. She spoke to my fiancé as if I wasn't standing right there and referred to me as "she" multiple times like I was an object. She also talked over us multiple times and didn't seem to care. It was astonishing who the heck she thinks she is, so no us well rounded more than capable, already working at awesome careers will not feel like we are almost forced to work $10/hour jobs to get our rent cheaper. We have no problem paying $1000 if we WANTED to, we simply just don't want to pay outrageous prices!!! ABSOLUTELY DO NOT RECOMMEND. RUDE. read more

Just spent 4 nights with the family at the Leander KOA. It was great! Park was super clean and you can't beat the location. My kids loved the pool and playground. Staff was friendly! We were a little hesitate because of the mixed reviews but so happy we gave this camp ground a chance! We will definitely be back! read more

We stayed here for a week in a motorhome. Loved it. The spaces are long with plenty of room between you and the next RV. Actually, I think this had more room than any RV park we've been to (and we are full-timers). Small, but nice laundry facility, small store in the office and great pool and hot tub. Very nice and sparkling clean restrooms and showers. If they had monthly spots available (all rented for the winter), we would have stayed here for a few months. The only downside to this park was the flies. So many flies...and we weren't even close to the dumpster. Not sure why this was a problem, but if you end up there, take your flyswatter. read more

I just got back from my second stay at this KOA. Not really sure why there was so much of a change from the first visit to the second but it has left my husband and I with the thought to go elsewhere when traveling around this area from here on in. We got there after the office closed (like last time) to find mice feces on one of the mattresses. Of course, since it was AFTER closing there was little we could do. So we took the necessary precautions. Next day, we get a crude knock at the door (waking us up) so we can finalize checking in. Last time, my husband was just instructed to go to the office at some point in the day. Delirious and frustrated, my husband signed and sent them on their way. Then, after waking up officially, my husband went to the office to show the employees the photos he'd taken of the mattress with mouse poop on it (there were also discarded tissues stuffed about too). Disgusted, the girl at the front said she'd give us a new cabin and inform the owner... while that's all good and all, we weren't compensated for the two hours it took to move our belongings from one cabin to another because of a cleanliness issue on the part of the KOA themselves. My husband later brought it up again to an employee who just shrugged and said "That's what exterminators are for" (whatever the heck that means). The showers are listed to be cleaned from 12:30pm to 1pm. So imagine my surprise when the shower door got pounded on at 11:45am and I'm asked how much longer I'll be... I was forced to rush my shower when I was well within the time parameters provided. After we moved, we couldn't find parking close. The owner of the park later lectured my husband for parking in her spot (though there is no marking to indicate this) and said that close by parking would not be available because they were setting up for festivities the following day (their Grand Re-Opening celebration, fyi). While swimming, an employee asked us if we were staying at the park... which was odd being that we were in the pool of the KOA and it was our third day there. They then asked us what cabin we were staying in and our name and grilled us about having a dog (we didn't have a dog with us). Apparently their paperwork was all messed up. Being that we were IN. THE. POOL, we didn't have anything other than our word at this point. This was a huge disappointment. Not gonna lie, it left both my husband and myself feeling singled out, inconvenienced and VERY UNWELCOME. Will not be returning. read more

The KOA was decent and they have a playground, a pool, a dog park, and bath amenities which is great if you don't want to use your RV and have a big space to shower. The staff are friendly and the place is clean and the staff sanitize the bathroom at least once a day. However, during our stay one of the RV who was next to us smokes outside his RV and we can smell the smoke. We have two little ones and not appreciate the smell. The staff said they will handle it but however that guest continues to smoke. The kicker here is that that guest had grand kids so he does smoke near them but apparently my kids did. Not so considerate and frustrating. Overall, the stay was nothing out of the ordinary. read more

This is a quaint, clean and friendly KOA campground. We stay here often and like the park a lot. The pull throughs are 100' long for the big rigs pulling a toad. The location is very convenient to Leander, Cedar Park, Georgetown and north Austin. Busy place so call early for your reservation. read more

This KOA is simply awesome ... we have stayed here multiple times; showers, laundry facilities, recreational areas, pet areas, camp spots, parking spots, customer service, and wifi are ALL excellent! Don't give it a second thought - book them now. I've never had a problem getting a spot, but I do check two months in advance before we even plan to stay here, just to be sure we can get in. For reference: we have been to all but 6 states in the country, countless KOA's... this KOA is truly one of the very best! read more

Be extremely careful booking this KOA. Almost every month has non refundable dates that if you make a reservation you pay the full amount of the reservation as a deposit and it's non refundable. You don't find this out until they send you the email confirmation. So if you are a month and a half before your reservation you can't get back a $300 deposit because it's during a holiday and they didn't let you know until after you made your reservation. read more

We've camped for years at parks and wildlife, corps of engineers and KOA campgrounds. This KOA is now on our favorites list. We stayed during the Memorial Day weekend and had an adjacent site with friends. This campground was very well thought out and has a lot of things to do for people of all ages. The pool and hot tub were great and not crowded. They had very nice and clean bathrooms. The clubhouse was nice and we were able to watch some movies. The staff grilled hot dogs and had all the fixings including watermelon on Saturday evening. They also had a guy come and sing and provide music. It was great fun and a great way to meet other campers. Even though most of the campground was occupied we never felt it. The camp had a great mix of camping options from big rig RV sites to trailer/pop up sites, to some tent and also cabins. They also had a huge dog run and were very accommodating. All of the staff were super nice and helpful! They made it real clear they were there to help us have the best time. They were very genuine. We had a great time getting to know them and history of the campground. They are always looking for ways to improve it too. One of the owners, Merry, said on multiple occasions that before adding new camp features (playground,etc) or whatever, she would always ask herself if her own grand kids would love it. They have great taste. We will definitely go back. On multiple times our teenagers and our friend's elementary and preschool kids said this was the best weekend ever. read more

KOA prides itself on being a family-friendly campground... but that can't be if they are going to charge for kids. If you have kids, you can stay at a hotel for the same price and not be charged for your children, but you'll be charged at KOA for you kids to stay in your own RV. Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Seattle, WA has a campground with over 50 spots. They are not sardined in, in fact you don't see your neighbor due to an abundance of trees. Our site was on the lake. We had free access to pool tables, horseshoe pits, playgrounds, pool and various other fun activities for families and children to enjoy. We paid $20/night full hookups and no punishment (charges) for children. Ellsworth AFB, SD was a similar campground except no lake, $20/night, no punishment. Every campground I have stayed in, I have researched fully prior to making reservations. I have stayed in more civilian campgrounds than military or federal campgrounds. The most I ever paid was $33.87 (includes tax) for full hookup and a charge for one child, then a military discount. The least civilian amount I paid was $15, but that was for a late night overnighter passing through a town, we didn't mention our kids and they had us boondock. So for $45 a night plus charging for my children (I have 4 kids, 3/4/6/12), that comes to $55 a night, then tax, and we aren't even going to be at the campground except to sleep since I've already mentioned to you that we are in the are for Christmas. For $55 a night, I could get a hotel room and have someone else clean my room and make my bed. So please tell me why you think your campground is worth $45 a night plus children punishment when I can get better campgrounds for cheaper? Why would I buy some pass for $27 when I just need to park an RV for 5 days? Common sense doesn't seem to taking effect here. Perhaps I can get it straight from the horses mouth why you charge $20 more than you should for an overnight parking... or why you think it's okay to punish families by charging an additional $5 per child per night. The $33.87 campground that charged for a child charged me only $2 for my 12 year old, and only for one night. So please, I am dying here to find an answer that doesn't lead to greed. Can you provide the answer that doesn't lead to greed? I doubt it. For the record, I will be posting this information on the four RV blogs I belong to, I will post it on the my RV website that I run, I will post this on Yelp, and I will post it with Austin BBB to ensure that all future potential campers know that you are not a family-friendly campground even though KOA prides itself as one. I highly encourage you and other greedy campground owners to re-evaluate your rates and operation and reduce them accordingly. I'm giving a 4 star rating because, all things considered, we had a nice stay and the park is in good shape. The good stuff: nice sized, not too big but has most major amenities-nice pool area, really big dog park which is almost like a field of very lush green grass with a swing and seats for owners to sit and enjoy while the puppies run around. Wifi was pretty decent. Did not experience laundry, shower, or park's TV system. We had a corner pull through with a nice tall hedge along the outer perimeter which provided privacy from the main entrance road. Our space was perfectly adequate for any size RV and ample parking for both our vehicles. The not-so-good stuff. We were charged an extra daily fee upon check-in for our small car (in addition to our pick-up pulling the 5th wheel) which seems a little cheesy since we paid for the extra long pull through and there was more than enough space in the site. We arrived 6 days before Easter and left 8 days after Easter but we were upcharged for the full stay at "holiday rate" No biggie but Easter is typically a 3 day weekend,I thought. We had a couple of days rain which resulted in a standing pool of water right at our front door and in front of our storage area so we had to slosh through that for a few days. When it dried the resulting layer of limestone silt meant we tracked it into the car and into the house. The concrete pads are lower level than the grassy area so that will always be an issue with any rain. All in all we enjoyed our stay and would return again. read more

My parents are visiting from New Mexico and they have had nothing but problems at this campground. They had my kids over for the day and it ended up costing them an extra 25 dollars for a few hours. They required us to give the names and ages of everyone staying. They were asked multiple times how long the kids could stay for this fee and never got an answer. My parents left very unhappy and canceled the next weeks reservation, which they were told wasn't even on record. Now my parents get a call from them today saying they owe more money because they had a reservation. This place is a scam and has been reported to Corporate. We are all very DISSAPOINTED. They moved over to old settlers park and pay less than half the cost and the people are very nice. read more

We stayed at this location for 28 days in June 2019. It was the worst experience we could have lived through. The people that run it are dishonest, cheap and rude. Twenty five bucks to park your second vehicle across from where you camp. We had some tree branches hitting the top of our motorhome and asked them to trim them. On Father's Day we went to visit my dad in Dallas. Up and back short trip. When we got back the trees were trimmed but they also ran into the front of our motorhome with the trailer they were using to haul off the trimmed tree limbs. They hit it hard enough to crack the fiberglass front end and pushed the grill in towards the engine. They cracked it in 3 places. Of course they denied it and coincidentally could not find anything on their security cameras. They tried to tell us that someone must have backed into our slip to turn around. Our coach was parked over 10 feet from the road and there was two roads on either side of our slip if someone wanted to turn around they would have just turned on one of the roads. The owner made comments about them sitting on a "Gold Mine" but yet too crooked to own up to what they did wrong. Hopefully Karma really will come back around to the liars. read more

The Leander KOA is slowly coming along. When we first started staying at the KOA, the place needed some help. Slowly, the owners have cleaned up the location and improved the sites. My husband and I have frequently stayed at the Leander KOA, primarily because of the location. The Leander KOA is in the northern portion of Austin with easy access to the tollway. The location and the facilities are clean and quiet. read more

Don't use the internet for what you want...pay $15 for a tear in the cheap bed liner we had for you in a cabin; get ready to have the lights go out after a minute in the bath/shower room while your use the facility. Some of the staff was friendly & the pool was nice but it was not worth the charges they pin on people! This KOA will nickel & dime you for everything from children to pets (even indoor pets!) to guests. All other KOAs we have stayed at, kids were free. Here, they aren't unless under age 5!!! I am from upstate NY. This a small but very nice campground. The prices are a little high but for good reason which I am sure I don't need to go into detail for you folks if you catch my drift. I have been here for four months for work in Cedar Park which is only 10 minutes south on 183. Long time KOA members we stayed for a weekend in the cabins they had clean cabins, camp ground and a great dog run, but poor customer service. We had some guest (8 folks total) for a BBQ outside our cabin and they charged us an extra $13 at checkout without telling us for our extra guest that only stayed for a few hours. We were quite, obeyed the rules and we cleaned up after ourselves and we didn't use the pool. You would think they would allow guest to come onsite to visit and won't charge thinking they might be future customers, but I guess we were wrong. We won't be back to this KOA ever! read more

This park is such an enigma. It could be so good. 1)It has great proximity to Austin, Round Rock and Georgetown, 2)The pull-through sites are a god-send for longer RV's or the parking challenged! 3)The park is newer and well-kept and 4) It has one of the largest dog parks of any campground I've ever been in. The downside and why it only gets 3 stars from me? The two older women in the office/store are about as unpleasant as it gets. If you are in a good mood when you get there, they will be sure to remove it for you. Between the endless lectures on rules, fees and the tireless upselling that you could care less about, you could not possibly find women who belong less in the hospitality industry. It can not be overstated what a bummer they are, since you end up in this office/store far more often than you care to. In all fairness though, the rest of the staff here is absolutely first-rate, the male staff especially are friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. As they say, a business is only as good as it's employees. Well, this one needs to heed that advice and fix what isn't good. read more
