We knew we had a leak somewhere, but the source was not obvious, since it was a small amount, but definitely an issue. Gary came out the same day I called, did an assessment, was very professional and went through all of the possibilities. He did not feel it was a major leak, and he was right! All I can say is wow! I have had a leak in the pool for over a month now, and had a competitor come out and "fix" the leak. The next morning the pool was down another 2 inches and that company refused to come back out or refund the money. That is when I did some research and called Gary. We recently bought our house and shortly after suspected our pool had a leak. I contacted Leak Detectives and left a message and as stated Gary returned my call within a few minutes. He was able to set up an appt for the following week (we had to work around the rain schedule). He came out and was able to find the leak within a few hours. He explained everything he was doing as well as alerted us to a huge safety issue that had been overlooked by our pool inspection company. That was very important to us seeing as we have a baby. I was very worried I might have a leak in my pool as I need to add water at what I thought were too frequent intervals. Seeking help, I found The Leak Detective on the internet and was especially impressed with the video Gary did in which he explained clearly and fully how he goes about finding a leak. He came out as promised and did a thorough and professional job, just as in the video, explaining what he was finding along the way. In the end he did not find a leak! Just to be sure, he showed me how to do a "bucket test," which I did. The result of that supported his judgment that there was no leak. I called Gary last week and set up an appointment for today. I have an older pool (aprox 50 yrs old). I have used Gary's services in the past and he did an awesome job so of course I called him again. I met Gary at the house and he quickly found a leak near my pool skimmer basket. Despite the 50 degree water, he sealed it up in no time at all. He did some other diagnostics while he was here and we agreed to set up a future appointment for an additional repair. I called Leak Detective first thing this morning and as stated on Gary's voicemail he returned my phone call within 10 minutes. He then told me that he might he able to check my pool this afternoon and would call me back between 2 and 3 and let me know one way or the other if he could come out today or would have to schedule for later in the week. Again as he promised he called me at 2:30 and was on his way to check my pool. I can't say enough good things about Gary and his knowledge and professional manner. 3 Stars for being a really nice guy who is very punctual and business-like. He explained everything very clearly. However...his website says he Guarantees to find your leak. I guess my definition of "guarantee" and "find your leak" is different from his. He told us 2 areas where the leak "may" be because he got a higher helium reading in these spots. If we wanted him to dig and find it the price was higher...but it would include a minor repair. I'm sure he has very technical reasons why he couldn't find the exact spot of the leak....but for $350 I sort of expected him to actually find the leak. We dug in the two spots where he said there may be leak...and so far we haven't found the leak in those areas. We aren't loosing much water yet, so we will probably wait until the leak makes it self very obvious. read more

I called Gary after reading the great reviews about him on Yelp and now I see why everyone is so happy with his service. I had received a leak detection report from another company that stated my skimmer bonding was leaking and gave me an estimate of $4,400 to fix it. That didn't seem right to me so I asked Gary for a second opinion. Gary came right out, tested my pool and told me there was absolutely nothing wrong with my skimmer. He even showed me the area the other company was talking about - some slight settling of the concrete and bonding 3 inches above the water line that had nothing at all to do with a leak! He also confirmed that the estimate was extremely high to fix the skimmer if it had been leaking. I am very grateful for his honesty and integrity. He saved me quite a bit of money and gave me peace of mind. I am thankful my pool is not leaking, but if it were, I would not hesitate to give Gary a call. read more

I was losing 1-2 inches of water per day and called several leak detection companies just before Thanksgiving weekend. Gary was the only one who called me back right away and came out the following Monday. Our pool is custom with an in floor system so not your standard cookie cutter pool. Although it took multiple visits to isolate the problem area, Gary was professional and followed through on all appointments, call backs, etc. I travel for work and Gary followed up with me over the phone to explain his process, and was patient with my questions and receptive of my input. He successfully located the leak in a broken pipe connection and repaired it.
