I WANT A REFUND!! A month ago we got the filters installed. During installation they lifted our shingles (which you can clearly see now). When we were sold this product we were promised that our shingles would not be touched. Thankfully it rained the same day of installed so that we were able to see that due to installation it caused our roof to leak onto our porch. It rained the day before and there was no leakage. We had two managers come out and they gaslit us telling us it was the roofs age causing the shingles to lift up which is not the case because we just bought this house 2 months ago and had an EXTENSIVE inspection. The managers also tried to fix their mistake and added silicon under the shingles which obviously didn't work. We also had a roofer and contractor out to look at the roof and both said the leaking is due to leaf filter. We greatly over paid, had a poor job done AND now have to spend more to get our roof fixed and gutters adjusted to be lower (which were raised). I WANT A REFUND because this is ridiculous. We had Leaffilter install their system and it never worked. Our salesperson seemed to be moved to Texas after install and could not help us. We had 3 service calls and they were unable to get the filters to work correctly. Leaffilter does not honor it's warranty and is actually a company operating from out of state. My husband removed the filters since we never were able to get the company to honor their warranty. We wasted a lot of money. Read the BBB complaints and you will notice the company never actually honors their warranty. It is a sham company and was involved in a class action lawsuit in California...wish we had known. read more

The local salesman, Steve in Boise flat out lied to us. He came yesterday to give us a quote. He stated that all of the gutters would be removed and realigned and new clips would be used to attach instead of the old nails. None of that was true. When I looked to see if other people had the same complaint I saw that we also were 100% ripped off and that the $6,600 we paid was double what we should have and could have negotiated the price to. read more

The salesman came over and starting telling me how crappy job the builder did with gutters and that he will have to redo lot of the gutters . When I asked him for a quote he kept on talking about everything else to a point I told him to leave my house. He was rude, insulting and pushy. because of him, I will never reach out to your company. He needs reality check and should learn how to be polite and listen to the customers. Do not recommend. I needed new gutters on a rental house in Northwest Knoxville and started getting quotes. I signed a work order with Leaf Filter Gutter Protection on 8/27/2025 for 6" leaf filter gutters, 3x4 downspouts on the four corners of the house, sealant on downspouts, 20' of wrapped fascia board in white. Includes removal of existing gutter and downspouts and flashing under metal roof. Total cost $8872. No deposit was required because the salesman, James Hartup, stated the company had no debt and did not require a deposit. The installation was scheduled for 9/2/2025 but Jake, possibly the office manager, rescheduled to 9/4/2025. There was severe weather on 9/4/2025 including thunderstorms, hail, strong winds, and tornado warnings throughout most of the day. I did not expect the installation to occur in the severe weather and installation would be rescheduled for a day with better weather. However, I received a phone call at 8:50pm on 9/4/2025 from the tenant informing me the gutter installers were expecting payment. I spoke with the installer and explained I did not expect installation during the storm and definitely did not expect them to finish the work in the dark. I also explained I was told by the salesman that I would be able to inspect the work before I paid and asked what options I would have for payment. The installer said he would call me back. I did not hear back from the installer. The next morning, 9/5/2025, I went to the house to inspect the gutters and was very disappointed. There were places where the gutters were uneven, there was a downspout that was not replaced (it was rusty and dirty), and the installers left a mess of roof pieces and gutter gunk in the yard. It would have been impossible for the installers to see what they were doing in the severe storms and in the evening. I knew Leaf Filter would reach out to me when they wanted payment. James stated during the quote that he did not get paid until the customer paid. My phone and text log shows Leaf Filter started reaching out to me on 9/10/2025. I spoke with James, and he asked me to call Jake and explain what work needed to be done to complete the job. James also said they needed payment so the installers could get paid. A piece of the story wasn't adding up. James originally said the company was debt free, but then states they can't pay their installers. He had already told me he didn't get paid until I paid, which was the truth of it. I spoke with Jake and explained what was wrong and we set a day and time to meet the field trainer at the house on 9/15/2025. Jake said the field trainer would have supplies to repair/replace what needed to be done and I could pay afterwards. I had a family emergency occur on the 9/14/2025 which took my focus away and forgot about meeting the field trainer. On 9/17/2025, I received text messages from Jake. He said the field trainer waited on me for 45 minutes on the 9/15/2025 and they needed payment. I explained I had an emergency and did not have time to deal with them anymore. The work should have been completed correctly the first time instead of during the storm and dark. If the field trainer took supplies to the house, why didn't he replace the downspout that should have been replaced? He's the field trainer, it's obvious how bad the installation looks. He should have corrected the issues I had already explained to James and Jake. I told Jake to take the cost of the one downspout that wasn't replaced from the invoice. He took off $330 of the total bill. He sent me the mailing address and I sent a check via certified mail which they received 9/22/25. read more

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. What good is a product reputation and warranty if the service sucks? Gutter covers purchased in Seattle area; paid for and installed in November 2024, 5 months later gutters leaking and service is non-responsive; leaking over front door getting the bottom half totally wet and getting whoever uses the front door wet also. Leaking on the deck and getting furniture wet too. Requested service for main office 2/24/25. Contractor sent out the next day who stated the incorrect part had been used. A WEEK LATER still leaking. Local office didn't respond to my voicemail about how to proceed with repair so called main service number and scheduled appointment for morning of Feb 28. NO ONE SHOWS UP. I call main number again and another contractor shows up 3 hours late. He ALSO states the wrong part was used. Wondering how many times they need to inspect it. After 2 inspections, last one 2/28 no phone call, no text, NOTHING HAPPENS until I call the main number AGAIN, and finally hear from local office March 11 (almost 2 weeks later) wanting to come out the next day. Unfortunately I am not available. I provide info as to when I would be available over the next few days. FIVE days later and still NO RESPONSE. DO NOT USE Leaf filter! Had a very bad and unprofessional experience with Leaffilter North of Florida LLC and sales person Don Morrison. Morrison seemed professional when came out, gave a verbal bid to my wife and I together to fix our gutters. I texted several times commenting on his specific $$ bid, he said no room to go lower. Then I said finally OK to this $$ bid number, but asked about warranty and stressed cannot go higher. He came back with a totally different bid, and $100 more than his bid! We traded texts, and he then accused my wife and I via text of lying! And claimed this was the same bid he gave to my wife and I. And specifically via text (and I have full text trail) said "we prefer not to do business with people that lie and said we said something else". THen we called the 800 number to complain, they forwarded us to local company, left message....no call. We were shocked, so want to make sure we let as many people know as possible. Do not use leaf filter if your asphalt roof is over ten years old and you don't plan on replacing soon. The tar from the roof eventually clogged mine causing massive erosion around my foundation. A LeafFilter sales person sold me what the company calls a "clean and reseal" job, which the sales person assured me would include the repair of several problematic features of my gutter system. Chief among these were re-hanging the gutters to more fully capture the runoff from the roof. I asked the salesman pointblank if these repairs were included, and he said "yes absolutely." When the contractor arrived weeks later, it turned out he was not informed of these repairs and was unprepared and unable to complete them. He proceeded to do the basic components of the job, and spent a couple of hours adding some silicone caulk and a handful of nails to my system. I called LeafFilter and the salesman several times while the contractor was onsite to try and figure what went wrong and resolve the issue, but was unable to get through to anyone. I never heard from the salesman again, but LeafFilter informed that the promised repairs were not part of the package I purchased, despite what the salesman told me. I was billed over $3000 for this "service" and only refunded a third of that, despite being lied to. Moreover, the business refused to provide me a breakdown/itemization of the cost of such a project to justify the price. I would never have agreed to this "service" if it had been represented honestly and accurately. I filed a complaint the BBB, but LeafFilter still refuses to make things right. As if that wasn't enough, as soon as fall/winter weather began, it became clear the cleaning and sealing performed by the contractor was subpar at best. There are several seams of the gutter system (the most obvious places to attend to for a sealing project) that continue to produce icicles, leak water create ice patches on the sidewalk, and expose my foundation to runoff that should be directed to the downspouts. One area in particular still resembles an all out waterfall when it's raining! The system is in no better condition than before LeafFilter sent a contractor to fix it up. I called LeafFilter to resolve this, and they have repeatedly screwed up the scheduling, first canceling after the agreed upon window passed, and then showing up more than 2 hours before the agreed upon window while I wasn't home. Once or twice, I can understand this kind of thing, but LeafFIlter demonstrates a pattern of unprofessionalism, poor communication, and manipulation. This company is incompetent at best, and malicious in my opinion and experience. I can't speak to the quality of their product, but their business practice and service system seems only set up to extract money from people. I do not recommend anyone engage this company and encourage it's subcontractors to sever their professional partnerships. You can do better! read more

One year ago i had new gutters installed around a five-plex. I had trouble from the beginning. The crew doing the job needed to be changed because the first crew didn't know what they were doing. The second crew did better but the gutter is still not the right lengths on a couple of the sides. I am in San Diego where it doesn't rain much and it's a rental so I'm generally not at the job site in the rain, but i was there time when it rained. And there were rain puddles under the connection points in the rain gutter. In other words, even if this downpour of rainwater just started, in one year there are leaks in the rain gutter! Installer texted 2 hrs before arrival on same day (I was told I'd be called the day before). Broken English, arrived alone. At end of installation I asked (from what I could see at ground level) "why are there gaps between the guard and the gutter?" His response "because your shingles are sh*t". After he left I looked all around the house on a ladder, large gaps between guards and gutter that will allow debris into gutters. Mesh portion of guards hanging, large globs of glue in spots. Wrote to salesman who had claimed he would make sure I got a good install, sent pics and details, his response was to "report my inquiry to customer service". CS made appointment 20 days in future for a technician to come out to look. Sloppy installation, can't imagine how it can be fixed. $2K spent for 129 linear feet on a small ranch single story house. Waste of money. Salesman comes out wasted 2 hours of my time "inspecting" the gutter on a brand new house. Comes inside and starts his sales pitch. Starts out at $10600. Nope, not going to happen, made up discount after discount, Can we put a sign in your lawn? Do you know any senior citizens? Yes that was an actual discounnt they gave us. After about 30 minutes of playing the price is right, he gets it fown to $1650, a $9000 discount. We sign the papers and they install the filters. this was at the end of March, by mid May the Filters were so clogged ath the valleys that they were pouring buckets of water right in front of my door. They came and put in a shield that moves the problem over a few feet, but still in front of the door. Customer service is non existant and a refund is out of the question. Its a garbage product. Stay away. As for the response, its generic, they wont do anything. Been there done that. They are just trying to save face. read more

Years ago, Leaf Filter installed their gutter system on my home here in western WA state, and recommended we also purchase their "valley diverters", which they installed where the roof valleys drained into the gutter. Soon thereafter, we had leaves pile up behind the valley diverters, creating a dam that backed water up above the level of the leaf filter gutter system (which wasn't sealed up the seam behind the valleys), causing water to leak behind the gutter and down the wall of our home, damaging the sheathing and siding of our home. They came out to look at the damage and suggested we contact their office regarding help with paying for the damage, but stopped answering our calls and emails, so in the end - we not only paid for the gutter system, but also to repair the damage to our home. Their warranty is that your "gutter won't clog" - which is true. The leaves and debris pile on top of the LeafFilter screen, necessitating pressure washing of the screen periodically to remove debris and moss that grows on the debris and into the screen. No gutter clog - just the screen. So, you will still have to clean your gutters - (the LeafFilter screens), - but it is true, your gutters and downspouts will not clog. Of course, without cleaning, water from the roof may simply pour over the gutter and never make it into the gutter. And - those valley diverters - can cause real problems with the structure of your house if leaves back up behind the diverters and alter the flow of water allowing entry behind your gutters. read more

(He was on the ladder, looking at left end, and snow was melting so fair amount of water.) Yep, good to go! I express gratitude, pay, and tip the workers. Workers go to leave, truck won't start. I offer to assist, giving them a jump, turns out loose wire on starter maybe? Day 2: Get my ladder out to check work. Water is pooled on left side. Get level to document. The correct slope the bubble should be to the left, it's clearly to the right. Call customer service. They have guy come out day 3. Day 3: Service Guy shows up in Audi car with ladders on roof. Parks in driveway. Explain issue to him and he gets to work. I asked him what slope is supposed to be, telling him that I've seen a couple of different answers online. He doesn't know. I call customer service to find out if they can tell me what the slope is supposed to be so I can check. Worker comes to door to show me he's got it fixed. He holds the level up for me to see, the bubble is to the right. I have to teach/show him how to use the level! Seriously! He goes back to work. Rings bell and tells me my roof is sloped. I say, don't care you shouldn't be using the roof as a guide you should use a level and slope it to the right. States can't get the water to drain because roof is low on this side. I tell him to lower the rest of the gutters, the only reason we replaced the gutter was for the water to flow from the far left to the right. I then talked to the local manager who states that even though they have installed my gutter to code with a drop "1/4 inch per 10ft". I state, "If it were actually sloping 1/4 inch per 10 it would drain and I wouldn't have standing water still. He says that it's leveled from the roof line not the actual level. I guess Leaf Filter thinks that water defies gravity and flows up. I ask for a refund; they tell me to pack sand - not in those words. The installer leaves and gives me the gift of numerous oil drops stained in my driveway - along with some mud to clean up. read more

Over $40 a foot for 100 foot of gutters less than 10 feet off the ground in my opinion this is unreasonably expensive

The leaf filter sales reps are nothing more than used car sale people from yesteryear. I was approached by a man at Lowes who said we could schedule a "No obligation quote that was good for 1 year". What harm could come from a quote? He had me call the scheduler who then proceeded to not talk to me because all of the decision makers of the household would not be present for the quote. I should have stopped there, but he told me that both decision makers were not required and that the techs were "stupid", having me call another one. Again, should have stopped there. I got the "quote" scheduled finally. The sales rep came to my home, didn't even get up to look at my existing gutters just taking cell phone photos from the ground and started the "quote". We had just had the roof redone last year brand new down to the sheeting but he insisted we had to add flashing because there wasn't any. The installers even said he has no clue what he is doing. Then the "no obligation quote" turned in to pressuring me to call my Co decision maker AT WORK to move forward with getting an install. When I told him no he came back with "C'mon man, we drive all the way from Denver". We ended up talking more and he told me about the financing. BOOOOO!!! Another thing this guy has no clue about. He told me that because I have a Lowes card I could be financed for 36 months. Not even close. The full amount gets charged to your card and you have 8% interest on the project for 36 months, totally different than financing. When I asked about this, telling him my credit limit is not high enough to cover the whole thing he replied " No one has ever asked me that before but it gave us the financing option so it's fine". No, no it's not at all because now I have to try to pull $5000 from my backside to cover this. These people are nothing but high pressure snake oil sales people who should be ABSOLUTELY ASHAMED OF THEIR BUSINESS PRACTICES. I am calling Lowes as well as the BBB to file complaints. I bought this house and got a quote from leaf filter, I asked what all it covered. He told me everything was covered including inspection of the guttering and repair of the guttering, I would never have to clean my guttering again that all the debris would just blow off and that if I had any problem just call and they would come and repair. Told me it had a life time warrant. He gave me the warranty card and I read it looked good. Now I have a problem with the guttering dumps water over the side, the leaf filter itself is collapsing and is covered with debri. I called in to get somebody out to repair the lifetime guaranteed leaf filter and was told that I have to pay another $95. to have somebody come look at it. I paid $7,500. to have it installed with a lifetime warrant. Now 2 years later they are charging me $95. to repair their work when the warranty card they gave me had no mention of another fee! We hired Leaf Filter to replace all the rain gutters and install leaf filters over them (~$13 K job). We soon noticed that some of the roof's runoff water was going behind the gutters and behind the facia of the house. This of course could result in serious problems in the future because the water would eventually rot the wood behind the facia. I will try to be brief here, but in a nutshell, I contacted Leaf Filter's national customer service and the local Salt Lake City Leaf Filter company almost a dozen times to try to get them to come out and fix the problem. The Salt Lake folks would not even call me back. They came out once when I was not at home and said it was a roof problem. Not so! They incorrectly said I needed a drip edge. I had to get a roofer come out here and tell me that was not the problem. Leaf Filter's Customer Service even set up two appointments for the Salt Lake City Leaf Filter to come and talk to me and see the problem. Both times the visits were a no-shows! In the end, after nearly 7 months of trying to get Leaf Filter people to come out see and fix the problem, I had to get an independent gutter company (not Leaf Filter) come and diagnose and fix the problems. To address this issue was not terribly difficult (the installers were pretty good), but NOT doing so would have resulted in very expensive repairs that would have necessitated us to eventually replace the rotted wood behind the facia of our home. With a cost of over $7000.00. We purchased this so my 70 year old husband wouldn't have to climb the ladder to clean the gutters. Now he will have to clean the gutters after every rain. The debris sits on top of the screens, looks horrible and I would assume eventually all the debris will clog the gutters. I did find out that they would be willing to have someone come out and clean them, but that will cost you $95.00 per visit, my husband said he didn'tfeel he should have to pay for something that wasn't described honestly. He requested a call from a manager the following day. What we got was a person from LeafFilter who came to the house with a 95.00 bill to clean the gutters. He was told no that a manger was supposed to call us. Two days later a salesman showed up to sell us LeafFilter. I called for estimate, they showed up an hour late after it was dark. Didn't measure but managed to give a quote for 50 feet straight run 4,183.00. The material at Home Depot would cost me about 150.00. What a scam. Don't be fooled by these fools. Fortunately I called a local gutter service who indicated that that the gutters had loosened and pulled away from the drip edge causing the water run behind the gutter in numerous spots. The next day my wife and I fixed the problem by reattaching the gutters and applying screws to keep them in pace. Don't be fooled by these scam artists. The high priced product has to pay for there advertising, Find a local company that isn't into embellishment and smoke screens to make a sale. I was looking for gutter guards and agreed to a quote from LeafFilter. The initial quote was very high, but I was able to negotiate down to about a third of the original price. I was concerned in one area that my gutters were actually too small, but the salesman assured me the guards were all that was needed. I asked him to write that into the contract-- that my gutters would not overflow-- and he obliged. Install went smooth, but then the problems started. As predicted my gutters overflowed in one critical spot. I called and a repairman came out and installed an extender. The problem persisted, so I ended up with another extension. Soon the problem was getting worse and pushing water onto the roof, causing more damage. Call after call, servicemen would respond and tell me there was nothing more they could do. So I decided to test the guarantee. It did not work. I was not satisfied. But the company was unwilling to honor the guarantee. I got the runaround several times and finally, months after install, ended up with a manager who told me straight up: they were not allowed to do refunds, only "maintain" and "manage situations." I made several calls to their corporate headquarters, each time being told the big boss would call me back. I never got a call. This company is dishonest and unethical. We hired LeafFilter to replace existing gutter and change the downspout location. The salesman showed up and this was a high-pressure sale. (Like a used car salesmen, "This deal is only available today, sign this or your cost will be much higher!".) So be prepared for that and know how much you're willing to pay before they show up. Also, they are crazy focused on selling you a leaf filter in addition to the gutter. Even though there are zero trees near our roof. This company was a disappointment because they should have known that the gutter design we requested would freeze and there would be zero drainage of snow melting off the roof. The downspout is a block of ice. Yes, in hindsight, I should have known that would happen. But they are the professionals and in my opinion they should have discussed that with us. read more

Start off very bad on the phone when I called in for schedule an appointment for Estimate. The person requested that all home ower need to be there. It sound like timeshare conference. I said I am the obey one going to make the decision if they don't want to they don't have to come. They then agreed. After an hour of talking about all this BBB, lifetime warranty, new article and how their product better than other . He then quoted me for 157 square ft for over 8k retail plus tax He will give me a 30% then come down to under 6k plus tax. He then ask me how 4k, then 3k so on I said why my neighbors pay 1k for 2400 sf ft one story home and my house cost so much.. he then said the lowest he will do for 2500. He ask me to give him a number then I said 1600 if he wildo then I'll sign. He said no.. I am happy that he said no.. my feeling that he just salesman and know nothing about who will actually do the work and how it done. read more

Had them installed, and by the way they WILL negotiate the price. Was quoted about $5k initially and after I declined, they called me back a few times and each time reduced the price. I finally said "ok if you do it for $2400" and they agreed. They worked ok, but when I had to have some roof work done they told me that THEY would have to put my gutters and filters back on for $1800 to continue the warranty. I have had Leaf filter since April. Lets be clear. The product works IF the installers do their job properly. That being said. I have spent more time speaking with customer service than with any other product I have experienced. I had a leak between my gutter a fascia that was just resolved in July. The downspout positioning is garbage. My drive way is being washed out everytime it rains. I was told my time was valuable. It sure doesn't feel like it. Absolutely awful customer service. This business is a scam! They gave me one quote saying it was good for "today" only. I'm in sales and know how this goes. Next morning after wanting to sleep on it and discuss with my wife I get a text from the "boss" that he has commercial grade stuff left and would love to discount below last nights already lowest price! Cool... I became interested so asked him to reprice the patio. He gave me a price and I agreed. Then he said wait, that doesn't include the lead filter! But wait, there's more lol! He said he would drill holes and let me order a fake filter from Amazon that would do the job hahahahhahahhah unreal And the price boosted 1,100 to add the patio. Absolutely insane! Employee, I absolutely do not recommend this company as they lie about the salary offered during interviews And playing with employees. They promised me $300 per house, which would be per day, considering each house takes a minimum of 5 hours, not including travel time that can be up to an hour. Additionally, there is administrative work, signing estimates with clients, taking photos before and after the job, and sending all documents via their seven-step app, which adds another 2 hours. On the first training day, I started at 7:30 am and worked for 13 hours for $99. The next day, I came in at 7:30 am, did a house alone starting at 10 am, and finished at 7:30 pm. I was paid $200, but they deducted $50 for insurance, so I received $150 for 2 days. They promised gas reimbursement, which I never received. Furthermore, you need to invest in equipment, including taller ladders that increase risk and time, potentially to earn $300. I invested in a ladder rack that I never used. Be cautious, or you won't see the benefits of your work. read more

Came twice with wrong size ladder then they came a third time and did a rushed installation (done with less than one hour of daylight left, finished job in the dark) for such an expensive job. Left a mess (I had to clean myself) of old gutter debris on the front and back of the house, only checked with me functionality of one downspout, unmatched color of another downspout and system is now leaking on the front of the house. I purchased these on 4/28/25 with also paying the extra $500. for them to remove and reinstall these when my roof was replaced. They installed these leaf filter the next day 4/29/25 everything worked fine no issues. I called close to the end of May to get the uninstall done and was told to call back after the first of June. I called on 6/2/25 and set the date to get the filters removed, so far so good. I called them back to schedule the reinstall and was told they would call me back. I called everyday until the following Wednesday when I called the salesman because I kept getting the same response "They have until 6:00pm to call you back" and I still had no one call me back! It is now 6/18/25 and I had to call the salesman again to get them to call me back, then they say we can be there between 8:00am and 10:00am tomorrow. So I think we're good finally, but no one shows or calls it's now 10:15 and not a word is said. I call the number that called me the day before and have to leave a message? I have $2000.00 of leaffilter product laying on the ground collecting dirt.....I'm tired of their run around, I would never suggest anyone give money to this company the are terrible at customer service and really stink with no communication skills read more

Found them online a few weeks ago when I searched for a gutter cleaning company. I was admittedly in a rush when I requested to have someone provide a quote online and just saw gutter cleaning and was like yup, please call. Received a call like an hour later. I told the woman on the phone I wanted an estimate for my gutters to be cleaned. She said someone could be out late morning. The sales rep showed up and immediately went into his pitch. I stopped him and said I was sorry, there must be a miscommunication because I just wanted my gutters clean. His tone instantly changed and he became rude and combative. I told him I was sorry I wasted his time but I told the woman on the phone I wanted my gutters cleaned and that I would be going back in the house to return to work. He repeatedly tried to bully me into getting their service and I kept trying to walk away. I was very uncomfortable. Since then, I have received multiple calls a day from them. It has been weeks of nonstop calls from various numbers. If I answer and ask them to stop, they don't speak to me. If I don't answer, I get voicemails to set up an appointment to come out to give me a quote. It's an aggressive sales tactic. Even if I wanted their product, I would 100% avoid them. read more
