After his 45 minute sales pitch, he offered to do the work for an astronomical price ($17K) and then gradually came down to a price which still seemed expensive ($5.1K), but reasonable in light of his slick sales strategy. I accepted this because I hadn't done my research. When the sub contractor came to do the work (for which he would be paid $400), he pointed out that there was a gap between some of the gutters and the roof and mentioned that that would have be fixed first. He also pointed out that he couldn't get to the highest gutters without doing damage to the roof because he didn't have the right ladder. When I pointed this out to Leaf Filter, they wanted me to sign a waiver. That was my way out and I decided not to go that route. After doing some research, I learned that the company is notorious for these high pressure sales tactics which many people fall for. I think they are selling an okay product, but, after doing some research, I think it's overpriced. It's also questionable if these gutter guards work in the long-term. I read that leaves and debris can gather on top of the gutter guards over time making them ineffective. After a little more searching, I came across this video which gives an honest look at the company and their product: https://tinyurl.com/4uzyp5rs. The bottom line: even if you install a leaf guard--and you actually have trees that drop leaves and other debris on the roof--your gutters will likely still need to be serviced! So, the conclusion I've come to is that gutter cleaning is just one of the necessary expenses involved in owning a home that's surrounded by trees. Of course, you could do it yourself if you have the proper equipment, but if you have 3 floors and steep roofs, like I do, you might want to leave it up to the professionals.

My wife and I recently bought a house built in 2022 and it had been sitting vacant since 2023. As you can imagine the gutters were full of sticks, leaves and debris. After buying the house I had to go back to the state I just left to finish my last six months of work before retiring. I asked my wife to find a known company to clean the gutters, and she found LeafFilters where their website boasts a 4.5-star review with 90,000+ reviews (Lie). After this negative experience I went back, and you cannot see the reviews on their site and every other platform has their reviews around 3.5 stars. My wife called and they sent a salesman who was trying to high pressure sale the LeafFilter guard at an ungodly price. She turned down the guard but settled to have the gutters cleaned, sealed and hidden hangers added as needed. This price was almost $2000.00 (which is also high) but for peace of mind we let them have the job (my mistake). The company sent out one person who didn't speak English. He spent 2 hours at the house blowing out the gutters. It is unknown if anything was sealed or hangers were needed. When my wife questioned him about the cleaning and the sealing the employee had to call his boss on the phone so my wife could ask the questions. My wife was under the impression that the company was cleaning the inside and the outside of the gutters as their contract states "clean all gutters and downspouts". She was told that they were not hired to clean the outside of the gutters and any "residue" inside the gutters would wash out with the next rain (unacceptable answer). After the employee left, my wife found that the leaves and sticks from the gutters were still laying all over the yard and not cleaned up (leaving a huge mess all around the exterior of the house). My wife went on Google and left a negative review which received a standard response saying if she wanted to discuss further, please call or email. My wife emailed and got a return phone call a few days later. The guy with LeafFilter basically told her that the salespeople are contracted by them to sell the product and there was nothing he could do except send somebody by to see if the job was completed. The way the contract was written was not LeafFilters problem and should be taken up with the salesperson. It sounds like LeafFilter is just a middleman company between the salespeople and the people they hire to do the work and collect a big check for nothing. This is a scam that we fell for (my issue) At this point, this is all my fault for paying a company almost $1,000.00 an hour to send out a guy to blow out my gutters. If I could roll back time, I would hire a 20 something year old to blow out my gutters and gladly pay them a few hundred dollars. I write this review, not because I am mad with LeafFilter, but to warn others to do their homework and avoid this scam.
