Caveat: I did not buy the LeafFilter gutter protectors. This is my experience with the company. I was recently pitched by Leaf Filter to install gutter guards. The salesman was very good! After his 45 minute sales pitch, he offered to do the work for an astronomical price ($17K) and then gradually came down to a price which still seemed expensive ($5.1K), but reasonable in light of his slick sales strategy. I accepted this because I hadn't done my research. When the sub contractor came to do the work (for which he would be paid $400), he pointed out that there was a gap between some of the gutters and the roof and mentioned that that would have be fixed first. He also pointed out that he couldn't get to the highest gutters without doing damage to the roof because he didn't have the right ladder. When I pointed this out to Leaf Filter, they wanted me to sign a waiver. That was my way out and I decided not to go that route. After doing some research, I learned that the company is notorious for these high pressure sales tactics which many people fall for. I think they are selling an okay product, but, after doing some research, I think it's overpriced. It's also questionable if these gutter guards work in the long-term. I read that leaves and debris can gather on top of the gutter guards over time making them ineffective. After a little more searching, I came across this video which gives an honest look at the company and their product: https://tinyurl.com/4uzyp5rs. The bottom line: even if you install a leaf guard--and you actually have trees that drop leaves and other debris on the roof--your gutters will likely still need to be serviced! So, the conclusion I've come to is that gutter cleaning is just one of the necessary expenses involved in owning a home that's surrounded by trees. Of course, you could do it yourself if you have the proper equipment, but if you have 3 floors and steep roofs, like I do, you might want to leave it up to the professionals. read more

If you haven't purchased LeafFilter yet, RUN AWAY! Bad product. Horrible company. My premium LeafFilter guards failed for the second time last winter. Oh well, they come with a fancy warranty right? That warranty is WORTHLESS FOLKS because the company doesn't care. I've been trying to patiently get the problem fixed since early June. 4 months later (well into fall) and the leaves are falling but the problem hasn't been addressed! Nothing but run-around, promises, and radio silence. Over and over... read more

I am extremely disappointed with our experience with this company. We entered into an agreement in August with the understanding that our project would be completed by the end of September. Unfortunately, that timeframe was not honored. Our first scheduled installation was missed entirely. Despite what was later communicated to us, there was no rain that day--the crew simply did not show up. After additional delays and rescheduling, we were eventually given dates extending into the middle of October. We explained that because of our work schedules and other obligations, we no longer had the capacity to continue taking time off and rearranging our lives around an installation date that continued to change. We were not demanding that the company complete the work on a specific date; we were asking for a reasonable exit from the contract because the project had been delayed well beyond the timeframe originally communicated to us. Although the company offered a discount, that did not solve the actual problem: our availability had changed because of the delays. Instead of acknowledging that, we were repeatedly told that canceling would result in a substantial cancellation fee and that our reason for canceling was not considered legitimate. What was most disappointing was the way our concerns were characterized as unreasonable when we had already made multiple attempts to accommodate the company. As customers, we expected better communication, accountability, and consideration for the time we had already invested. Based on our experience, I would strongly encourage anyone considering this company to carefully review the cancellation provisions, installation timeframe language, and scheduling policies in the contract before signing. read more

I honestly normally avoid writing negative reviews about companies, but given the cost of this project and the issues that resulted, I feel it's important to warn others. I paid around $5,000 to Leaf Filter not only to install gutter guards, but also for a full assessment of my roof and gutters, including repairing or replacing any damaged or faulty sections. I was also told that if any issues arose in the future, they would return and take care of them. Unfortunately, the installation process itself was a major red flag. The first installer got into an argument with my neighbor, shouted at my wife, and left before completing the job. LeafGuard did acknowledge this and offered a small discount, then sent another installer to finish the work. I blame myself in hindsight for even allowing them to finish the job, I should have just cancelled the work then. Once winter arrived, serious problems began. A lot of water started leaking above our front stairs, creating large amounts of ice on the steps -- a significant safety hazard. We have lived in this home for over 20 years and have NEVER experienced ice buildup like this. While it was a harsh winter, the issue was clearly related to the installation as we found out later. Leaf Filter sent someone out to inspect the issue, but I was essentially told there was nothing they could do. I was told I would receive a call from a manager, but no one bothered to follow up with me. Ultimately, I had to hire another company to correct the problems. They literately had to remove all of the Leaf Filter system from the front of my house in order to fix the issue, which cost me an additional several thousand dollars more out of pocket. For a company that promotes itself as a premium, guaranteed solution, this experience was extremely disappointing. Between the unprofessional installation, unresolved water and ice issues, and the additional expense required to fix their work, this was not the service or protection I was promised. Leaf Filter is absolutely 100% garbage! They stole.my $125 quite fee and never got back to me. Ive called several times and they always say. A manager will call you back by 4pm. Absolute scam... F you Leaf Filter! read more

I was misled by a sales person. I was told that the leaf filter would prevent the need for me to get on a ladder and clear my gutters for life. As an elderly disabled woman this was most important to me. I spent an astronomical $6k+ on the product for my average sized ranch home. I have had two critical issues in the first year. 1. During heavy rains water spilled over an inward corner that is above my rear door and an outward corner on the front of the house. RESOLUTION: NONE - They offered to come out and clean off the debris on top of the filter for $125. This was after 2 calls to the corporate office. I refused to pay for an inspection of my system that was guaranteed never to need any type of ladder required cleaning. When the local representative contacted me, he refused to come out without payment of the $125. I discussed my concerns and requested an inspection at no charge. HE HUNG UP ON ME! I called back and he immediately hung up again. 2. Worst of all - mice were heard Crawling through the gutters within the first few months. I later discovered mouse droppings in my attic storage area (Disgusting!). I suspected that the leaf filters were the issue. I am currently paying for a pest control company to catch the dirty rodents. They continue to catch them. I recently saw an ad for an add-on product that Leaf Filter is selling. It is a downspout screen that prevents critters from getting into the gutters. Well, this certainly confirmed that the mice in my attic are due to the Leaf Filters. AND, THAT THEY KNOW THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM SOLVED BY THIS ADD-ON NEVER MENTIONED TO ME. RESOLUTION: NONE - both the corporate and local representative said it was not possible that mice were getting into my gutters and making their way into the attic. Also denied to inspect the system for this without paying $125 which did not include finding an entry point for the mice. I regret falling for their BS sales pitch. I not only spent an exorbitant amount of money that I don't have to spend on my tight budget, but now have worse problems and am paying for pest control. They do not stand behind their faulty product and misleading results. I strongly urge anyone interested in this product to stay clear. I found an old class action suit settled against them for debris build up on top of the filters. It is time for another one that includes critter infestation. read more

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!!! Lifetime warranty is anything but, you are responsible (min $125) to have someone come out to confirm what I already know, there is a product defect and the screen has come out. Apparently lifetime warranty only covers 1 year (installation) so regardless of whether it is a product defect or not, you as the customer are expected to pay again or they will not come out to fix their inferior product. Again, there are many other companies that are legit in regards to warranties on their products. LeafFilter isn't that company. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!! read more

Beware: False Sales Promises and Useless for Pine Needles I have numerous pine trees in my yard. For years, I simply spent about $500 every five years to install cheap DIY gutter guards. I knew they would eventually clog with pine needles, but at that price point, it was easy to manage. I explicitly raised this concern multiple times with the LeafFilter salesman, explaining that I didn't want to invest in a professional system if pine needles were just going to clog it anyway. The salesman heavily assured me that their specific design would eliminate this issue entirely. He explicitly stated that if it ever did clog, they would come out and clean it for free. Relying entirely on this specific verbal guarantee, I agreed to pay over $4,000 for their system. One year later, during heavy spring rains, the gutters on the back of my house completely clogged with pine needles and overflowed. When I called LeafFilter support, I was told that any technician visit requires a $125 charge. They completely refused to honor the explicit promises made by their salesman to secure my business. Do the math: I paid over $4,000 upfront to avoid a problem, and now I am being asked to pay $125 a year to maintain it--which is roughly the same cost as the cheap DIY solution I had before. Whether the salesman was poorly trained or intentionally deceptive, the result is the same: LeafFilter took thousands of dollars based on a service promise they refuse to fulfill. If you have pine needles, avoid this product. If you value a company that stands behind the words of its sales representatives, avoid this company entirely. read more

I live near Macon, Georgia and had Leaf Filter install gutters and gutter guards last year - spring 2025. This year - late Spring 2026 I called to have a warranty service because some pine needles are sticking to the gutters and there needs to be a cleaning. They have scheduled the work 4 times and have cancelled every time. I call the customer service number and they are nice and say they will have a manager call me and reschedule - but there has not been a call from them. This has been going on for about 4 months now. Very frustrated and am planning to file a complaint with the state of Georgia attorney's office. I would not recommend this product because they do not honor their warranty. read more

This is an open and honest review based on experience and not emotion. We were approached by a LeafFilter Rep at Lowe's. She set up an appointment with a salesman that met us at our home. I am not blaming the salesman, but I am upset with the training and tactics that give their sales people to use on customers. The guy took measurements for gutter guards, and worked up a "sticker shock" price, and when when we balked at the price he offered us a 30% discount, and told us that this price was only good if we signed now. I should have refused!!! The original quote was about $18,000, and the reduced quote was about $11,000. I now regret accepting their offer. I spoke to a local roofing company 2 weeks later and they were shocked at the high price, stating that they could have installed the same or similar product of equal or better quality for around $4000. As far as the installer for the product, he was exceptional. Very honest and professional. He did a great job. In my honest opinion, I would not recommend LeafFilter to anyone due to their extreme pricing, even after offering a discount! I am pleased with the product so far, but not the cost! read more

I honestly dont want to leave even one star here but in order to leave a review I have to. LEAF FILTER has been one of the absolute worse companies ive had to deal with in all my 38 years living. The communication is horrible the technician who installed my gutters horrible. I called to get assistance with having my slanted gutters and how the back piece keeps falling off it was not connected well so if it comes off during a rain storm there is water going in my basement. My gutters have been slanted since they were installed but at the time the bigger issue was the fact that me and leaf filter walked around the outside of my house before installation and map out how they would be installed and whaich side and because I was told be leaf filter i didnt need to stay while installation i went back to work because I could take the day off. The busted open a pipe on the wrong side of the house and stuck the down spout in there and when it rained water started coming in to basement so they had to come out and fix this. Leaf filter cant even show up or call for the appointments they are setting for me. I have talked to multiple ppl since the week of August 9th through the 15th and then the following week my first appointment was scheduled on 8-15-26 time from 4 to 8pm I waited those 4 hours at my house for some one to show call something nothing I had to keep calling in and checking to see if they were still coming and I got the run around from multiple ppl then I finally received a call the next day from a Tammy she set me up for a new apt the 23 of Aug form 8am to 12 on that day there was still no call no show. So I began calling a agin for answers the run around again. I was told they will send a message to corporate and they will call me first thing monday morning the 24th so I ask for that # and I left them a voicemail on on the 24 after no call to me and on the 24th it is the 30th and I have still received no communication from leaf filter. Service from LeafFilter was fine. Product works I guess how it should? We assumed from what the sales person said, we would never have to pay for gutter cleaning again. If the gutter clogs, then leaf filter will clean the gutters for free. We were told leaves and debris would slide off the filters, well that is not true, the debris just sit on top of the filter and keep water from getting into the gutter. Not real pleased with the product. We should have read more about the details of what's covered or not. We were under the impression from the sales person that we would never have to clean gutters again. Well I guess that's true, but now we have the leaf filter system thay needs cleaned every year and they charge a minimumof $95 to clean the debris off, sooooo not really sure what we gained other than a waste in money. read more

Updating: We were originally quoted $2800 to simply come out and clean out all of our gutters and downspouts. I quickly denied that and inquired about 3 specific downspouts that were the problem areas and agreed to an ESTIMATE of $800 dollars to clean out, reinforce, and reseal all 3 downspouts. I never received any type of paper invoice nor digital invoice for this. A contractor comes out and checks our system, and found that the only area of concern was one elbow joint that he had to clean out. He didn't reinforce anything, nor did he reseal anything. I was still forced to pay $800 dollars for this, even though 70% of the estimate was not done. I've since called, emailed, and message customer service, and eventually got on the phone with someone named Adam Zakkout, who said that I should be grateful that the company even came out to my property to do such a small job. He said he contacted the contractor, who told him that all the work on the estimate was done, and that it is now my word against his. I shared with him that I have security footage of my conversation with said contractor where I clearly ask him what work was done. Adam asked for me to send this over, and he has since gone dark on me, not returning any messages, and customer service has stopped responding to any of my emails. Based on the work that was done, I absolutely feel like I WAY overpaid and am entitled to a refund, yet no one from the company will respond. read more

We requested bids for gutter cleaning and gutter guards on Angi's List (now Service Pros) and received several responses. One was from Leaf Filter. We made an appointment and their salesperson, Clark E. arrived on time. He took some measurements and then sat down with us and his binder of information. He went through a thorough presentation about Leaf Filter, their product, their ratings on Consumer Reports, where the product is manufactured, how long the company has been in business, the warranty is transferable, there is a no clog guarantee, etc. etc. We had no doubt that most or all of those facts were true. He used the "tried and true" sales tactic of asking us if we were comfortable with the product and company, and if so, were we ready to sign. We became suspicious when he did some calculations and presented us with a price of $9,462. He asked us if that price was in the ballpark of what we expected, and we honestly stated that it was not a huge surprise, but that we had a few other companies coming out and would make a decision after talking to them. He asked who else we were talking to, and implied that most of the smaller companies would probably not be in business long enough to cover their warranties, and that their products were inferior. Who else we're talking to is not his business. We also made it clear that we were not willing to make a decision that day. He then implied that that price would be good until August 31. He asked us if either one was a veteran or senior, my husband is a veteran, so then he added a 10% discount and dropped the price to $8,515. We told him we still needed time to talk about it, and would not make a decision today. Then he brought up some coupons that we might have seen in the mail or online, he "wouldn't make us look for them", but that added another 20% discount, bringing the cost down to $6,812. Again, we said we needed to talk about it. We often tell salespeople that we've had a couple of experiences where we agreed on something too quickly, and ended up regretting it. It's our way of trying to be nice before we tell them no. He then seemed to be questioning our 47 year marriage and why did we have to discuss everything before making a decision. We had already silently agreed via text message that we were not going to do business with this guy under any circumstances. It was at this point that he did some more quick calculations and asked us "What if we could do the job tomorrow for something around $2,400, which is essentially at cost?" We said no. He then asked what would we have to lose if we agreed to that. I lost it then, remained polite, but told him he was really becoming extremely pushy, and that we were not going to agree to anything today. He said something to the effect of, "Well, I didn't ask for this appointment", slammed his book shut and left very abruptly (thank goodness). I hope anyone considering getting a quote from Leaf Filter reads this and all the other similar reviews. There are a lot of vulnerable and trusting people (and there's nothing wrong with that) out there who might just agree to that first bid. I've attached photos of the Leaf Filter bid and one we received from a smaller, local company (who we are probably going to go with). Clark didn't even have a business card, and just hand wrote everything on the Leaf Filter page. Compare this with the professional bid we received from the other company, at a much lower cost. read more

We had a system installed the spring of 2023. I had the company come back and look at the install immediately after it was completed because it was poorly done and installed incorrectly. They assured me that it would hold up. The entire system has fallen from our property, causing A LOT of property damage. You can clearly see how the gutters were installed by hanging a 1x6 board with 1.5 inch screws. That was clearly a mistake on the installers part. I knew it was incorrect but the company refused to fix it and assured us all was good. I called for this to be remedied again after this episode and they refused to look at. They would send an installer out for $95 service fee to give me an estimate to reinstall new gutters. Worst service and product I have ever dealt with. Beware! The $95 service fee that I was being charged for someone to come and look at the thousands of dollars worth of damage to my property due to a poor install was refused. Caveat Emptor when it comes to Leaf Filter. Had their "system" installed a little over a year ago. The salesperson told me that they remove the gutters, clean them and install their leaf filter system. The craftsmanship was horrible. For what they charged me I could have bought brand new gutters with filters. I ended up replacing all my gutters for 2/3 the cost of what I ended up paying them. Never again. Then a few days later they call us and say they will do it for $6000. We ended going with a local installer, who also installed leaf guards, for under $2000. On top of it all, the representative that did the estimate had the nerve to show up in a white Tesla, and proceeded to slap my dog in the face for getting too close to his car. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT! Small debris plugs the "screen" in the so called "filter" and makes the rain water overflow instead of going into the gutters and downspouts. The overflowing rainwater has caused horrible damage to my home. Stucco cracking and falling off the walls, wood damage and water leaking into my home.
