Get scammed by LeafFilter? Here's how we got out of our contract. I went online, filled out my contact info and about a week later the sales guy shows up. Super slick, high pressure pitch. They will quote you three times what they expect to actually get so they can give you "special discounts" and "reduced pricing due to commercial jobs in your area", etc and if you agree to anything in this range you will be vastly overpaying for the product. The sales guy included all kinds of ridiculous claims including this gem: "Oh, no, stuff can't pile up on the mesh and clog it up. The surgical steel has a static charge on it and nothing can stick to it, it'll never clog up!" I signed the contract about 7:00PM that evening, and the installer was in my driveway, unexpectedly, by 8:30AM the next morning. Later I would understand why. Well, the next day by around lunch, about 18 hours after meeting with the sales guy, I did a little checking around and very quickly found out that I was paying probably 300% more than what I should have paid and started seeing the plethora of terrible reviews. I immediately regretted my decision, and thought back to how high pressure the sales guy was in wanting me to sign his contract before he left. Thankfully I was aware of my right to rescind the contract. When I looked up the LeafFilter North office address to which to address my letter of rescision, there were two offices and there was no indication of which office to send it to. So I called the main corporate office and asked them. They actually told me they had no idea where to send it, but that they would contact the main office in my state and have someone call me. Of course I never heard from anyone, so I sent two identical letters via registered mail, return receipt requested, to both offices to be sure. One of the return receipts I got back had a line drawn in the signature panel. The other one was completely blank because they refused to even sign it. A couple weeks goes by and I never hear from anyone. I tried calling both offices multiple times and was just always told that "a manager would call me back". Of course, I never heard from anyone. I then proceeded to send emails, and again received no response. Fortunately, to finance the product and the install I got financing through the Wells Fargo Home Projects credit account. Due to receiving no response from them in more than a month after rescinding the contract I initiated a charge back with Wells Fargo. At this point Wells Fargo contacted LeafFilter and let them know I had initiated a chargeback. Then, same day, for the first time since the entire thing began, I suddenly had a LF manager calling me up. He was very aggressive and tried to insist that by allowing the product to be installed I had waived my right to rescind the contract. I told him that was absolutely not the case, he hung up on me, I have never heard from them again. A few days later I received notice from Wells Fargo that they had resolved the claim in my favor and reversed the charges. I ended up not paying a single penny for the installation or the product which, after nearly a year, is on my house to this day. You see, they do the install super fast like that for several reasons - most people won't think to rescind their contract within the 72 hour window. Even if they become aware of their right to rescind during this short window, still more people will think "Oh, well, it's too late now, they've already installed it." If the customer becomes aware of their right to rescind, and after having the product installed still mail their letters within their time window, they will then be called and told "Sorry, you let us install it so you waived your right to rescind the contract". You then need to take the final step of initiating the chargeback and provide proof that you exercised your right of rescision within your window to do so to get out the other side of this thing, and I'm sure most people won't go this far. How did I get to keep the product for free and never pay anything in the end? If you read the law, you'll find they have something like an 11 day window during which they can acknowledge your recision and come uninstall and retrieve their product if they like. During their stonewall attempts and refusal to communicate with me that time period had long come and gone, and if it hadn't they would be out the cost of the install, the uninstall, and materials since much of it gets cut to custom lengths. This is the hole in their overall shady strategy. I have no doubt they know they run this risk, but it working out like this is rare, and they just consider it the cost of doing business. I never set out to try to scam these scammers, lesson learned, and I ended up with free LeafFilters on my entire house as reimbursement for dealing with their lying salesman, their stonewalling, their lying manager, and their underhanded business practices. read more

We had to get the Attorney General's office, the BBB and Wells Fargo involved. We specifically asked them not to send a combative unprofessional contractor back to our house which we had the right to do but they sent him back twice after the request. We had LeafFilter come out to give us an estimate on installing their product on our gutters. We were promised it would take less than an hour for the appointment. Dean of LeafFilter was very pleasant and conducted the assessment in a timely manner. However... when it came to getting a price the problems started. The first product price provided was $8669; when we said we'd think about it, Dean started getting pushy and came up with another discount bringing the price down to $5635. By then the '60 minute' appointment was heading into 2 hours and we were done. Again Dean pushed to get us to accept and dropped the price to $4500 if we'd accept on the spot--a price drop of almost half the original quoted price! We didn't sign; we asked him to leave. The next day I get a text from "Michael, LeafFilter manager". He said they "happened to have" enough product in stock in our color, left over from another job they'd sell to us for the low price of $2750 installed. That's a price difference of almost $6000 from the original price quoted a day early! I smelled scam! If their product was as good as they advertised/promised why resort to the outrageous sales tactics and price changes. I requested LeafFilter leave us alone. I can't trust a company that uses these questionable practices. If their product is as good as they say there's no need to do that. My advice is to steer clear of these guys! read more

I don't know if anyone has ever worked with leaf filter....highly DON'T recommend they were supposed to show up friday at 5 to talk about product... lady called said she was going to be late. Then Monday they were supposed to install, they called 2 minutes before job time said they were going to be late, then didn't show up at all with no follow up call. I complained to cooperate office they called next day and apologized said they would get back to me shortly with a different install date...i received no call so now its Wednesday and i have canceled so unprofessional. read more

This product is not for cold/snow environment. Salesman lies that this product works in snow/ice with no problems. The leaf filter system has caused ice blocking and subsequent damage to my roof and house. Denver team is terrible. Instead of fixing anything they caused more damage to include a claw hammer to their own product. Customer service is no help, they only pass calls and work orders to the same problem originators. When trying to contact anyone from corporate for assistance was not met with avoidance and blame of everything else except their product. Now instead of cleaning gutters I get to clean snow off my roof/gutters. I don not recommend the product, the Denver personnel, or the corporate support. read more

The sales experience with Mike from the Colorado office was great. Was told I would never have a clog, they were self cleaning, and would never ice dam. Sounds great right! Very nice an professional but that's where it ended. The install was prompt but we did not get a call before they showed up, not a big issue. The installer used screws that were to long which dented my gutters. Again something that I could live with. Then the first snow came and oh god did we realize we made a mistake. We have had ice damming issues and run off causing slip issues on our walks. The water now is starting to run behind the gutter and down the facia board. We have called and asked for them to be removed and refunded but were told that is not an option. I am currently waiting for a call from the regional sales manager. read more

Don't waste your money! I am a 77 yr old widow who invested in this system because I can not climb on a ladder to clean gutters. I am also on a fixed income! It was a big decision for me to invest this money. Their lifetime warranty is useless. They use any excuse to not give you your money back. They have been out several times to clean gutters and make adjustments. Nothing helps. I am on my own after this year, which will be my second year. Worse company I have ever had to deal with. The first group of guys that came to my house couldn't tell me if everything was right or not, they weren't able to communicate in English. I was told by the second service guy that came to my house that the wrong materials were installed on my gutters. The gutter protection was not installed on my gutters but under the edge of the roofing material. I was told by the sales guy that it has to be installed directly on the gutters so not to void the warranty on my roof. I have had to climb up on my ladder and take photos and send to the company. (I am a single woman over the age of 65). Is this company real, or just a scam? No show, no calls. The crew that showed up to install my Leaf Filter gutter protection could not speak more then a few words in English. They did not seal the end caps or the down spouts. I had to explain to them to put the seems together instead of leaving a gap when they put on another peace. The clean up after the project wasn't good. My 92 years young friend, having safety concerns for his son who is the resident and co-owner of their home, enlisted my help in getting estimates for the installation of gutter guards on their home. Happy to help I called several companies and made appointments for quotes. My first appointment was with the LeafFilter Company of North Denver. I took a gentleman friend with me and on the appointed day, February 13th, met with LeafFilter's estimator/salesman "Brett". We listened patiently to his presentation and sales tactics of reducing the price from $6,900 To $4,000. Brett then began pressuring me into signing an installation contract to "lock in" the $4,000 price that would only be good until 8:30 a.m. the next day. I told him I was NOT THE OWNER and had no legal authority to sign an installation contract on someone else's' home. He told me that wasn't a problem but he needed to lock in the price. He said I should speak to the owner and get back to him the next morning. If the owner did not want to do it I could call and cancel and he would tear up the contract - no problem. He also assured me that no work would be done without first contacting me and/or the owners. After seeing the outrageous estimate and checking BBB reviews, the owner decided this was not a company he wanted to do business with. I called the next morning, cancelled, and was told the contract would be torn up. The owners of the house were never contacted by LeafFilter Imagine my surprise and horror when I drove up to the house a week or so later and discovered that on February 19th, six days after the estimate and cancellation, LeafFilter gutters were installed on the house without any knowledge or consent from the owners or myself!! The locked backyard gate had been broken into and left open. Pieces of shingles, hardware, and water bottles were strewn on the lawn. Shingles were lifted and the gutter guards were already starting to warp. As I stood looking at the unbelievably horrible installation and damage to the roof the salesman, Brett, came storming up the driveway contract in hand insisting I owed them $4,000 and if not paid they would put a lien on the house!! When I told him he had no authorization to do the installation he replied, "You mean I'm going to have to eat this?" I have recordings, video, and pictures of the entire last encounter. In addition, I spoke with a neighbor of the residence who told me he was concerned when he saw the installation crew show up with no one at the house and ask him to run an extension cord across the street to use his electricity. I called the owner, told him what had transpired, and sent pictures of the installation. He called LeafFilter and was directed to David Moore. Mr. Moore told him they would settle the issue if the owner paid him $2,400 for supplies. Of course the owner refused and requested I get in touch with Mr. Moore to tell him exactly what had happened. I called Mr. Moore and told him some of what had happened before he said he had already heard 6 different versions of the story and wasn't interested in hearing another. He "suggested" I shouldn't be signing contracts I had no authorization to sign. (wish he had told his salesman that!) He said I would be hearing from their attorney and hung up. Update from my previous review: Well, for the fourth time within a month, a technician showed up at my home. He was the technician who was sent to my home a couple of weeks ago and he said he was there to "...do basically the same thing I did the last time." I understand the technician is not at fault because he just does what he's ordered to do by the company however, the "same thing" he did before did not result in repair of the uneven/warped slats and shingle damage on the eaves of my roof caused by ice accumulation on top of the slats. Shortly after the technician arrived, I was able to contact the project manager, Mattias at (720) 381-0442 to discuss my concerns. Mattias aggressively tried to explain how fantastic the Leaf Filter product is and insinuated that my observations of the product's shortcomings and the damage to my home it has caused, and will continue to cause, were unfounded. At the end of a rather heated discussion I told him the only fair solution is to have Leaf Filter remove the system from my home, repair the damages it caused to my home, and give me a full refund. Mattias said he would tell the technician to leave my home and that he would pass my concerns and request to corporate. Judging from Mattias' tone during our phone conversation, I have serious doubts that he has any intention of passing my concerns on to any of his superiors so, following our conversation, I immediately called customer service. After being on hold for approximately 20 minutes (pretty standard for any company) I was able to speak with a representative. I conveyed to the representative my issues and request to have Leaf Filter remove the system from my home, repair the damages it caused to my home, and give me a full refund. She assured me that I would receive a phone call from someone in the corporate office soon. I don't however, expect a phone call because at this point, my trust in Leaf Filter as a truthful and ethical company that strives for customer satisfaction has been completely obliterated. I have to say, in my profession I deal with contractors and vendors on a regular basis. My experience with Leaf Filter has, by far, been the worst experience with any company I have ever encountered. The text of my earlier reviews are as follows: "Today I noticed Leaf Filter has caused the roof shingles adjacent the gutters to be pushed up 3/4" to 1" in several locations. After closer inspection I noticed that all ends of the filter slats were uneven with ample open space for debris to enter the gutters. This obviously will eventually cause clogged gutters and roof damage that most likely will void the warrantee on my roof. The system was installed less than three months ago. I contacted my sales representative and told him about the issues and he said "...it sounds like an improper installation. Call service and let them know; they can address the issue quicker than I can." I left a message with the service department (800-749-4566). We have tried to reach Leaf Filter Gutter Protection, without any return calls to fix our clogged gutters. There Is only 2 places that need to be re-done. We spoke to the sales representative and he said he would "try" and contact someone to fix the problem. We have had several people call us and make a time to come out. They never showed up. We spent over $7,000 dollars to do our entire house with gutters. Yet, we cannot get them to come look at the problem, and fix the problem. Great presentation by Mike Mckevitt but terrible installation by an under qualified installer. Have reached out to Mike about the poor install, and he sent another installer to take pictures and to add caulking over the areas that aren't installed correctly, voiding the warranty they issued. Gutters weren't cleaned out prior, and a prior leak was not fixed. a gap about 3/4 inches on one end of the gutters was not fixed exposing an opening for the leaves and other things to fall into. Two burn marks on the ends of the gutters were made, ruining the paint on the gutters Called the 1-800 number to have a service ticket opened, and have yet to hear back from any Manager. I'm very disappointed with the service department of this company. First the gutters were installed incorrectly, not under the drip edge and the down spout in the wrong place. The installer admittedly said he didn't look at the drawings before installing. Took about 5 or 6 phone calls to get a response from the service department. The installer left a mess around the house leaving sharp pieces of down spout and gutter, nails, screws around the yard and house. My dog was cut by one of these pieces left in the backyard. At first they said to send them the vet bills and they would take care of it, which I have sent to them. However, I've not been able to get a response or reimbursement from their service department despite several phone calls, voicemails and emails.They finally fixed the down spout and installed gutters under the drip edge but that's it so far. These are pricey gutters and I would expect much better customer service. I would expect my animals not to be injured by discarded sharp pieces of metal causing emergency vet bills and time off work to have many follow up visits to the vet. read more

This company is highly deceptive with no price integrity and a first call sales company. The sales rep can charge whatever price they want and the higher they sell it to you for the more money they make. You could pay one price and your next door neighbor could pay as little as 1/3 you did if they don't immediately buy. The sales rep will continue to drop the price until the price they give when they ultimately leave. Yes the longer you wait they will continue to drop the price, with their last price being their commercial price. Yes, after saying they are calling a manager for approval they will give you a final price. This is a last ditch sales tactic. They also will pressure you into installing the same day or next day. Don't fall for this as you want to give yourself a chance to check them out more thoroughly.q When you buy something from someone coming to your home in Colorado you have three days to cancel if you change your mind. Last week I gave in to the TV commercials and set up an estimate with LeafFilter for gutter covers for my house in Longmont. After listening to a long (but impressive) presentation, we finally got around to a price; almost $4,000 for not all that much gutter length. Since this was a big number and my first estimate, I told the guy I would need to think about it and get another quote. Immediately, the discounts began appearing. After the third or fourth, my price was down in the $1,500 range. By this time I was pretty ticked off that he was trying to con me out of $2,500 extra. When I continued to refuse to sign on the dotted line, he gathered up his materials and stomped off. Rather surprisingly, there has not been a follow-up call. The worse company in Denver Colorado. Fraud in the measurements, pricing is all over the map, and the installers are NOT trained as stated so many times in the fast talking salesmen's SCRIPT. Signed on to do a whole house install. Job was to start at 8 o'clock on July 1st 2019. Someone showed up at 10 am and said could only stay a couple hours. Another "crew" showed up a few days later. 2 adults and a teenager. That was the professional installers. They did approximately a bit over 1/2 the job. Said couldn't do any more due to a shingle problem. Good old fast talking Mike the salesman said they could lower gutters etc to make things work. Made numerous calls and left messages. No one bothered to return calls. I had put job on credit and that was the only smart thing I had done. Was able to protest the $$$$. Adding insult to injury they took my call one day and told me they would not be finishing job. Asked me to measure what had been done and what had not been done. Paid a person to come measure as am 80 yrs young. Was told to call back immediately with measurements. No one answered the phone. Finally was able to secure a $1000. credit and feel blessed to have secured that. Please people hire this company at your own risk. What they did do for me is a shoddy job. Have somebody coming out to see if can repair the mess they made. Just an added note, the person that recommended the company never received their $50.00. read more

The rate should be a minus five star. They are the worst company to do business with. I have been getting the run around for months from them. Four times they made appointment to come to my home and four times they were a no show. Then once one of their tech did show but did not have a ladder to reach the second level but what he could reach he found install problems and had a drone to take pictures of the upper gutters where moss was growing on the screen which is not supposed to happen according to their booklet. Which has a life time warranty. I have been past from one manager to another all were suppose to get back to me. The last manager Tom said he will talk to the regional manager that was three days ago and no one contacted me yet. I called Tom again but only went to voice mail, left message for him to call me back, still no call back. I called their service department to see if they could find out what they are going to do to fix my gutter problem the woman would pass on my concerns and no one has contacted me. You can not find any way to contact their headquarters to try and get help. I am coming to my wits end trying to get them to live up to their contract. Our gutters had problems where the water was dripping over the edge and dripping water along the exterior. The crew came in and addressed the issues. After some snow, I saw new drips and called their customer service. The sent a guy to investigate the next day. He fixed one drip but didn't have a ladder for the other issues. If i could pick 0 stars i would. This is the worst company I have EVER dealt with. We had gutter protection installed November 2019. Guys came late in the day (2 pm). Were told they would be early....so my wife waited!! I was out of town and they took full advantage as I would have sent them packing. Then fewer men came than promised by sales guy (Daniel). They left debris ALL OVER OUR property and damaged the roof to boot. These guys have made a lot of money off of us and they don't really give a ****. The female scheduler today asked me when would be a good time when my husband would be home. I said that he didn't need to be there, and told her my schedule is wide open. She said "I understand it can be hard to plan around your husband's work schedule, but when will he be home"? I said that I didn't need or want him involved, that I was the person who handles all aspects of the house, and that I was the person who requested an estimate. She repeated it again and I said that my husband wouldn't WANT to be involved and could we please schedule. She went there one more time, asking what would be a good time for my husband. By now I was extremely irritated. I said very emphatically "You are not listening to me. I don't need or want my husband involved. Is this the 1950's? Do you want me to get his permission or something? What do I have to say to get you to schedule? That I'm divorced, single, gay? That my husband died of COVID?! Finally she scheduled. Hasn't been a great experience. They scheduled a three hour window for my install and showed up an hour late without a call to let me know. Didn't measure if the filters would fit all my gutters when they quoted me, so they were not able to install all the filters. I was told I would get a credit for the filters not used. He didn't inform me of this until he installed them on the ones that did fit. I then get a call four days later while at work that they're at my house to install the filters and a new gutter at no extra charge where it didn't fit. I had to leave work and rush home since no one called to inform me of this. They showed up to my home unannounced and startled my kid because the installer was walking around on my patio. The filters push in easily, there are holes and gaps which their description clearly states it wouldn't have any of that. They tried filling the holes/gaps with caulking which looks tacky and obviously isn't the way it should be done. I called to complain and they are supposed to come back and check the install but I have not heard or seen them since I talked to the manager over two weeks ago. I'm pretty disappointed for how much I paid, the customer service I've received, the poor quality of the installation, for being misled and how bad the whole experience has been. read more

I just got my LeafFikters installed and I am hoping they are more dependable than the customer service I received from this company. This rating is therefore more for the company than the product! It also excludes my installer Shawn who would get a 5 for being the one person who actually communicated with and followed through with his part more than anyone else I dealt with throughout this process. I was ghosted by my salesperson as soon as I signed on the dotted line despite her telling me to call her first with any questions. After not returning two phone calls , I tried the main customer service line and spoke with someone who said they would look Into the situation. Also did not hear back. My last recourse was the Northland line where I did finally get my concern addressed and my appointment time changed only to have the person scheduled to install (the first time) turn out to be a no call, no show. It wasn't until Shawn the second scheduled installer, actually demonstrated the customer service I was lead to believe by my salesperson made this " a number one company" that my faith was finally restored. Now I am just waiting to see if my filters do the same. read more

I had the Leaf Filter System installed. I believe it's a good product, but the local company was unorganized with bad installers. After several problems with the wrong installers showing up unannounced, the system was installed. I dragged my ladder around the house and found some twenty items that were done improperly. Finally, a Johnny and Martin showed up and were competent. It was a thirty-day process and I was lied to five or six times, by even a district manager. My worry is that they've installed many systems in town where the home owner didn't have the ability to drag a ladder around and check their job. read more

August 4, 2017 LeafFilter Gutter Protection installed gutters and filters on my house and detatched garage (over $5,000). The installation was not done right (it was the installers first day, and had no previous experience). He left all the old gutters in our driveway and didn't come back for 2 days to pick them up. I got a hold of David Moore, Regional Operations Manager, because the install was so bad. He came out with a crew, tore all the gutters down and put them back up right, or so I thought. August 30th, called service to correct some problems. No response. September 5th, after still no response, called David Moore. September 11th, Cesar comes out adjusts a few things, says he'll be back with the down spout extensions. Never heard from HIM again! November 9th, two more service people come out because water is flowing over the gutter onto my power lines, steps and porch. They replace some flashing in the front and in the back, but that just moved the problem over. On April 16th, I sent Dave Moore an e-mail stating all the problems. He never responded to my e-mail, so I called him. He said he hadn't seen my e-mail. I told him that something had to be done. He told me that HE and one of the service people would come by on Wednesday May 1st, between 10 and 12. The service tech showed up (alone) and when I asked where Dave was he said he didn't know anything about Dave coming. The tech looked at a few things and said he would be back in two weeks to fix everything. GUESS WHAT FOLKS!! HAVEN'T SEEN OR FROM ANY ONE. i guess I'm just another senior citizen that they took advantage of. Stay as far away from this company and product as you can!!! Stephanie P. read more

Impressive superior product. Horrible "time share" sales tactics....just wanted a free quote...never been treated so poorly in my own home. Sales person was very rude...stormed out...wouldn't leave the free quote because he was certain in his 15 years of experience that I would never buy. I might of bought because of the quality of the product but his rude and aggressive actions guaranteed that there is no way I will. read more

I had this product installed. Within a couple days we had a little snow storm. My gutters immediately started leaking the entire side of my house. So glad I only had them put on one side. Not under the gutter but over the gutter. I was told this was due to ice forming on the leaf filter and forbidding water into the gutter. This was not a problem before they installed the filter. Their warranty guarantees against Pine Needles, Dirt, SNOW & ICE, shingle grit, leaves, Moss & Pollen, Seed pods, and insects. Right there they say SNOW & ICE. However, when I called in to find out why this was happening the Manger told me "yes this would happen". I told him nothing was explained about this and I specifically ask about snow and Ice. The salesman said their product would still work. After arguing with the manager and being told that I should have known this would happen and that there isn't anything I can do. I told him to have the product removed off my roof and return my money. He said there isn't anything I can do about it. Maybe have heat tape put on it. They are to come out and look to see if it was installed correctly, but more or less said there was nothing I could do. So much for their "warranty". Do NOT USE these guys. Hard sales techniques and the most of all the product does not let snow and water into the gutter. Terrible business practice. I sure wish I would have read YELP and the BBB before doing this. read more
