For anybody that is currently going through the process of remediating mold for the first time, I…read moreknow it can feel really overwhelming and like it's going to be expensive. Rest assured, you have found the right company to work with. These folks are highly professional, responsive, and great value for the money. Now that I've seen the finished product of the work, I couldn't be happier with my decision to proceed with them. In my own journey, I had hired somebody else first because they were cheaper. After an additional air test where that company was fully unable to remediate the issues that I was dealing with, BH Environmental came in and saved the day. It was a night and day experience compared to the other vendor. Eitan and his team are top notch. Stop looking beyond this post and give them a call.

None of this process was communicated clearly to us. I appreciate the owner's effort to make it right with a refund of the fee. I wouldn't even recommend requesting an estimate from these people. I wish I hadn't. The star is because someone technically came out. They were the only ones who charged a fee to come out, and their inspector spent a total of maybe 50 seconds in the bathroom that had water damage. The person who came out told us would have an estimate within a day, and no estimate. Unlike the other companies that came out, he made no inquiry about the age of the house or mention of required asbestos testing. Overall, his visit did not inspire confidence that any estimate we did get (if we got one) would be valid or accurate (not require change orders). Maybe the reason why some reviewers say they're cheaper is that they cut corners? (We wouldn't know as we never got our estimate.) We were really dissatisfied even with our (extremely brief) visual inspection experience. Communication with respect to the process was not good (as we don't know what's going on). Clearly my short list selection process failed me here. ETA: Apparently they were waiting on payment for the estimate (no one made clear what this process was), which we finally got, and indeed did not include asbestos testing.

I didn't end up working directly with Fix My Home, but they absolutely earned my trust -- and if I…read moreever have water damage, I know exactly who I'm calling first. I reached out to them because of a leak, and honestly, they could have easily brushed me off or tried to sell me a service I didn't need. Instead, they took the time to help me realize I was being misled by multiple other plumbers and service people I had already spoken to. That kind of honesty and integrity is rare nowadays. They didn't have to help me at all but they did. They even referred me to a reliable plumber -- and if it weren't for that referral, I'd probably still be sleeping with a leak in my ceiling. The time and care they put into helping me (without making a dime off of it) speaks volumes about their character and professionalism. Thank you, Fix My Home, for going above and beyond.

I worked directly with Darren throughout the entire process. Despite managing everything remotely, he was incredibly responsive and handled the scheduling, decontamination, and demolition work efficiently and professionally. He made sure my parents were taken care of at every step. After the remediation was completed, Darren referred us to a contractor he works closely with named Joe, who managed the reconstruction work. Joe oversaw the rebuilding of the garage walls, the full kitchen renovation, and replacement of the flooring, including hardwood floors on two flights of stairs. His team was skilled, reliable, and kept everything on track with minimal input needed from me. The entire project was completed quickly and to a very high standard. I'm truly grateful for their expertise and support--this would not have been possible without them. I highly recommend their services to anyone in need of water damage restoration and home reconstruction.

Alexis came to collect samples and called to confirm before arriving early. He did a very thorough test and was very respectful of my place. Good communication and quick scheduling. I was able to have a technician come out the same day I called to schedule. The technician was extremely friendly and helpful. He answered all my questions while he was concentrating on the testing, set up etc. He was careful with his words meaning he didn't cause any unnecessary stress or anxiety. He wasn't pushy and was conscious of the cost while also recommending what samples are needed or suggested. He was clean and careful. Cons: Expensive compared to other mold testing companies. The invoice can quickly add up. I originally planned for about $800 ($500 base fee plus $75 for 4 samples). I added on asbestos test and that brought my bill to over $1300. In some ways I see this as a positive though because you get what you pay for (I hope and can't compare to any other company). My whole house wasn't moisture mapped as I was told it would be. The tech said they only focus on the reported areas of concern. Not a big deal but would've been nice to know. I kept getting rescheduled by 15 minutes. The tech was running late then running early so that was a little confusing. I jokingly asked them if I get compensation for the changed appt time since I signed the contract already (they charge $150 for any changes). They said no. The report is a bit confusing as it was the first time. The most annoying is that in the asbestos report they suggested further testing. Likely costing another $1000 or more. I thought I was already paying for the best testing. This feels a bit like a trick in some ways. Overall I'd go to JLM again. I suggest to do some research beforehand though to know exactly what you need done (AND WHY meaning are you renovating or just wanting to know for health reasons etc) so you don't get unneeded tests or costs.
