Halibut & Orzo Risotto

I have been to Le Yaca for brunch and really enjoyed the experience. A week ago we went for dinner to celebrate a friend's birthday and the experience was just as good! I love that they have prix fixed and a la carte options. All of us enjoyed every dish. The flavor and food quality from the bread to dessert was top tier. The service did not disappoint. If you are looking for an elegant spot with excellent food, this is it.

Another one of our favorite places to eat In Williamsburg Va. This is Le Yaca. This is the scallops over au gratin potatoes. I have not tasted better in town. A place to visit when you come here.

A special treat for the birthday girl, my wife. We made a reservation for two but turns out we didnt need it, we sat at the bar. Plenty of bar stools. Wife started with a Cosmo and an old fashion for me. Great drinks and nice pour as well. My wife had the lobster and I had the shrimp dish. Both were absolutely amazeballs. Finished with the Apple desert...sorry no pics. It was very delish! Thank You Chef. Service was absolutely top notch and several friendly helpful staff members..Thank You Le Yaca!

We dined on fresh French bread with butter, French onion soup for hubby and this night's special of tomato bisque for me. Our entrees were rack of lamb for hubby which was cooked to perfection and crab cakes for me. Dessert was a Grand Marnier soufflé shared between us though I ate 90% of it. It was accompanied by a crème anglais sauce, raspberry sorbet and a twille cookie. I had to flag down our server to ask for water and also when we wanted to put our order for dessert. The ambiance was upscale as usual. This time the portions were more generous. One star less for the lack of attention to us as well as the rest of that server's customers. The rest of the servers took great care of their customers in stark contrast.

Lovely holiday lunch with friends. Le Yaca offers a two-course lunch for $26 or three courses for $32. The selection is broad, and all of the dishes are delicious. Today we had the soup of the day, which was butternut squash and the crab cake entree. One of us enjoyed the chocolate bread pudding topped with vanilla ice cream, and she devoured it! Service is friendly. We sat in the front room, which was decorated with a fresh huge pine tree. It was very festive.

We were fans of Le Yaca from their Virginia Beach location so, while here for a family weekend, we snuck away for a date night just us. This building is beautiful. The decor is elegant. It's huge! Several rooms and all with a theme and elegant decor, a beautiful bar area, the entry was also nice, beautiful artwork, and clean and elegant bathrooms. Our server was wonderful. She was prompt and respectful and just paced the meal perfectly and took care of us from start to finish. We started with the crab crepe which we get every time. A cheesy crepe with a ton of quality crab meat. Yum! We split the Shrimp risotto with asparagus and it was well worth the $10 split fee for a little more and the portion was plenty for two. It came with a house salad as well. I love their house salad with greens, purple grapes and a delicious mustard vinaigrette dressing. To finish, we reviewed dessert but were honestly stuffed so we went with one scoop of raspberry sorbet and some fresh coffee. Coffee was delicious. As expected, we loved our meal and can't wait to come back next time we're in town.

This place is a hidden gem. It's in a shopping mall area of Williamsburg so it can be hard to miss. The food was phenomenal! The restaurant has a variety of options to choose from and everything we had was delicious. The red snapper, salmon, and scallops were fresh, hot, and extremely flavorful. The fresh baguette they bring to the table is authentic and really makes it feel like you're in France. The desserts were okay. The tiramisu didn't have a strong coffee flavor and the chocolate cake didn't have a strong cocoa flavor. The drink selections were so great! The wine and cocktails were superb. The service was phenomenal. Our waiter was extremely attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. The ambiance was perfect. The restaurant is very dry spacious and upscale.

I have now dined at Le Yaca 3 times in the past year and each time is a great experience with excellent food and service It's absolutely beautiful inside with each dining space minimally decorated but it's feels warm and inviting. Food wise the standouts this past time were the lobster bisque, chocolate croissants , fresh bread and butter, the steak, the crabcake (so much crabmeat) and the chocolate cake! I really don't think you can go wrong with any of the food choices. Can't wait to go back for another dining experience here!

One of our go-to restaurants for a more upscale meal. Today was a lunch, where I had the beef Wellington and wife had Le crabe. Both were excellent, but given a pix fixe menu with increased prices, I was sad to see the portions had also decreased. I would recommend getting the desert option to round out the meal. Soups were good (wife won with her tomato bisque with basis seasoning.). A little disconcerting when two of the servers were not fluent in English, but polite and main servers took over.

This is one of my favorite restaurants. We live in Richmond, Virginia and my request was Le Yaca brunch for Mother's Day. The food was amazing, I had the lobster tail with a truffle sauce, Rose from Provence, and the service was wonderful.

Le Yaca is in the heart of Williamsburg a couple of miles from the outlet. The restaurant is nice and intimate. Our server was good and attentive. They placed us in the back (wink)in which I didn't mind because it was quiet and intimate. We order the salmon and red snapper. Both were flavorful and cooked to perfection. The Verde salad was delicious as well. The crab cake was scrumptious with hardly no fillers.

This is at least our third time here usually for an anniversary or birthday This is truly 5 star service and we enjoyed the food, service and atmosphere of the restaurant. My only issue was the cobblestone / brick entrance was difficult to manage with a mobility scooter. The price fix menu is great even for a country boy to understand, and I wish other places would adopt the same approach. Loved the French onion soup and will be working on copying that for my home recipes. The halibut was fantastic and the sauce made it even more delicious. The tenderloin and crab was amazing and delicious hitting all of my favorite flavors. Finally the desserts were both unique and beyond compare. Overall I would highly recommend this restaurant for a grand and wonderful meal and experience.

Le Yaca Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Le Yaca

Do they allow dogs on the patio?

I saw a service dog once. But you can call the restaurant they will easily answer that question for you. They are super friendly

Is Le Yaca open on monday?

No they're not. They are closed Sunday night and Monday.

Does the patio have propane or electric heaters?

Does le yaca have real French food and people?

This Resturant, in my opinion , had real French food. I have cooked French food, been to France, and eaten French food many time. I believe I heard the owner of the place speaking with a French accent.

Our children ok?

Yes, I believe it is okay to bring children to La Yaca.

What is the required attire? I'm coming there for vacation and want to know what I need to pack.

Business casual is fine. But like with anywhere in Williamsburg, casual attire is allowed--we find it more fun to dress it up a little! Enjoy your meal--great service & wine list!

I stopped by on a rainy day around 1PM, so it was super quiet (which I loved). Our waitress was a gem. She let us try a few wine options before we decided what we wanted to order. I ordered a glass of rosé and the Greek board, and both hit the spot. The rosé was crisp and refreshing, which was perfect for a humid day. I paired it with the Greek board, which had all the Mediterranean favorites. A generous amount of pita, olives, hummus, feta and grapes! I'm a sucker for a good Med plate. Whether you're looking to have a girls day, a casual date, find a new spot to work from, or just pop in for a light lunch and glass of wine, Tinto is the spot. I look forward to visiting the VB location!

This is the second time I have been to Aberdeen and both times I have had Harris James as our waiter! He is so friendly, personable, and attentive. He also is helpful and knowledgeable when you ask questions. We ordered: Crab Dip: this was toasted bread with a melted cheese and herbs topping. The crab dip came in a bowl in the middle. The dip was creamy but chunky with crab. I thought it was slightly salty, but my husband LOVED it ! Clams Casino: 6 clams filled! These wee very yummy. It is hard to find Clams Casino so I was very excited to see this on the menu. Filet Mignon with mushrooms and onions on the top, mashed potatoes, and broccoli. I ordered this rare and it was very tender and flavorful! I thought it was a perfect blend of seasonings. It paired well with the mushroom & onions, as well as the mashed potatoes. Sirloin Steak with mashed potatoes and a side salad- home made blue cheese dressing. My husband wanted this cooked medium well. He said it was cooked perfectly and was flavorful. The dressing is made in house, was creamy, and paired perfectly with the salad. The mashed potatoes were creamy. The broccoli was seasoned well and I did not need any butter for them. (I forgot to take photos of the steaks) I definitely recommend Aberdeen Barn. Call ahead for a reservation and make sure you get Harris!

I understand that seating is dependent on wait staff, reservations, etc., but this seemed intentional. The waiter was friendly but not particularly attentive. There was an excessive time lag between the appetizer, salad, and main dish. The time between salad and main was almost 30 minutes. I ordered a Delmonico steak, medium-rare. It arrived medium. By the time I got to the middle of the steak, it was barely pink. Definitely NOT medium-rare. And definitely NOT a Delmonico. The shrimp cocktail was good. The Cosmo from the bar was great. But for the price of the meal, not worth a return trip. I was hoping to find a great local steakhouse but looks like Opus 9 is the only option for great steaks in Williamsburg.

This restaurant is located on a little cute strip, filled with vintage looking shops. It's cozy on the outside and in the inside. The ambiance at night is giving romantic date night. It's a pretty tight space but it gives an intimate feel. I personally love that. I went here because one of my friends said that it is his favorite restaurant. He explained how their menu frequently changes and is chef-curated. He really hyped it up. And the experience I had here with friends really lived up to the hype!! Immediately waking up, the hostess greeted us with upbeat and high energy and she quickly seated us as well. The hostess also ended up being our waitress. She was very well-informed and knew the food and drinks like the back of her hand. I'm always impressed when waitstaff know what they're talking about because I've been in their shoes before. So I know the work it takes to get like that. We started with a house appetizer. I don't remember what it was exactly but it was all beautifully topped on a slice of naan. It really started off the night on a great note. Our appetizers were the charred octopus, beef gyoza, and the fried oysters. Our drinks were excellent craft cocktails that I don't remember the names of. But each one was gorgeous and delicious! Next up, we had the grilled asiago bread, bison meatloaf, pan seared duck breast, and the seared jumbo sea scallops. Goodness. Not a single disappointment in any of these dishes that I listed. Maybe one disappointment is that I couldn't have unlimited charred octopus and duck breast... LOL. I often get lost in thinking about the charred octopus here. It was crispy on the outside with the perfect amount of char, but yet it was soft and tender in the inside. I got my duck cooked at medium rare. The duck breast melted in my mouth. I didn't want the experience to end. Overall, this place is absolutely worth the hype and is all the rage. I'm 1000000% coming back here when I'm back in town again.

The food, as it should be is the star of the show. I ordered the Duck, which was the best duck I've had at a restaurant in a very long time. Some places can over cook it in an attempt to get that crispy skin, but here it was cooked to perfection. The skin was crispy, meat flavorful and juicy, and not overly greasy. The sweet potato puree was excellent and elevated the meal. The drinks menu was really good. Our friends are Wine Connessiuers and we're impressed with the selection. Not a Connessiuer myself, though I do enjoy a nice red every now and then, our selection was really good. Circa 1918 is a bit of a trip for us, but I'm sure we will be back and I'd recommend this place to anyone in the Newport News area.
