I highly recommend this establishment. This was our third visit and each has been above and beyond expectations. The food is so well thought out and delicious. Tonight we were a party of 6 and each went with the Five Course Meal selection. One of the best meals to memory. Everyone one pleased with their selections and as I recall every plate was cleared. We had Axel as our server and he was knowledgeable and very efficient. The decor is beautiful throughout. At one point we noticed every table was seated and thought the volume did get elevated at one point it was brought back down to a moderate level. I came here during brunch and got their prefixed brunch 3 course ($50). This came with a drink , pastries, and the three course meal. For starters I got the French onion soup which came out in about 20 minutes. Soup was very solid and had more of a purée taste which was surprisingly good. The pasties especially the chocolate croissants were also delicious. After another 25 minutes the main dishes came out. I got the fillet which came with a peppercorn glaze (amazing!) and crispy potato pie. Fillet was cooked to correct medium rare temperature and tasted delicious! For desert, I got the cheesecake with raspberry! It was really rich and delicious! The raspberry puree provided a nice tart taste to go alongside the sweetness! Staff were very friendly and the service for this entire meal was about an hour thru. A very delicious place restaurant that I'd gladly come back to if I'm in the area! Exquisite French place here in the Hampton Roads area. I cannot emphasize enough how the style feels very Parisian. Literally went to Paris a week before I went to Le Yaca. Our entrees were rack of lamb for hubby which was cooked to perfection and crab cakes for me. Dessert was a Grand Marnier soufflé shared between us though I ate 90% of it. It was accompanied by a crème anglais sauce, raspberry sorbet and a twille cookie. I had to flag down our server to ask for water and also when we wanted to put our order for dessert. The ambiance was upscale as usual. This time the portions were more generous. One star less for the lack of attention to us as well as the rest of that server's customers. Lovely holiday lunch with friends. Le Yaca offers a two-course lunch for $26 or three courses for $32. The selection is broad, and all of the dishes are delicious. Today we had the soup of the day, which was butternut squash and the crab cake entree. One of us enjoyed the chocolate bread pudding topped with vanilla ice cream, and she devoured it! We were fans of Le Yaca from their Virginia Beach location so, while here for a family weekend, we snuck away for a date night just us. This building is beautiful. The decor is elegant. It's huge! Several rooms and all with a theme and elegant decor, a beautiful bar area, the entry was also nice, beautiful artwork, and clean and elegant bathrooms. Our server was wonderful. She was prompt and respectful and just paced the meal perfectly and took care of us from start to finish. We started with the crab crepe which we get every time. A cheesy crepe with a ton of quality crab meat. Yum! We split the Shrimp risotto with asparagus and it was well worth the $10 split fee for a little more and the portion was plenty for two. It came with a house salad as well. I love their house salad with greens, purple grapes and a delicious mustard vinaigrette dressing. To finish, we reviewed dessert but were honestly stuffed so we went with one scoop of raspberry sorbet and some fresh coffee. Coffee was delicious. This place is a hidden gem. It's in a shopping mall area of Williamsburg so it can be hard to miss. The food was phenomenal! The restaurant has a variety of options to choose from and everything we had was delicious. The red snapper, salmon, and scallops were fresh, hot, and extremely flavorful. The fresh baguette they bring to the table is authentic and really makes it feel like you're in France. The desserts were okay. The tiramisu didn't have a strong coffee flavor and the chocolate cake didn't have a strong cocoa flavor. The drink selections were so great! The wine and cocktails were superb. I have now dined at Le Yaca 3 times in the past year and each time is a great experience with excellent food and service It's absolutely beautiful inside with each dining space minimally decorated but it's feels warm and inviting. Food wise the standouts this past time were the lobster bisque, chocolate croissants , fresh bread and butter, the steak, the crabcake (so much crabmeat) and the chocolate cake! One of our go-to restaurants for a more upscale meal. Today was a lunch, where I had the beef Wellington and wife had Le crabe. Both were excellent, but given a pix fixe menu with increased prices, I was sad to see the portions had also decreased. I would recommend getting the desert option to round out the meal. Soups were good (wife won with her tomato bisque with basis seasoning.). A little disconcerting when two of the servers were not fluent in English, but polite and main servers took over. read more

Had lunch today at Le Yaca for my birthday. I had the salmon, and was not edible. Very fishy, did not eat any of it. Server never asked if there was a problem with my food or if she could exchange for something else. My husband had the pork and thank goodness his was good. I'm just surprised a restaurant of their calerber would not address the issue. And yes they charged me full price. read more

This is at least our third time here usually for an anniversary or birthday This is truly 5 star service and we enjoyed the food, service and atmosphere of the restaurant. My only issue was the cobblestone / brick entrance was difficult to manage with a mobility scooter. The price fix menu is great even for a country boy to understand, and I wish other places would adopt the same approach. Loved the French onion soup and will be working on copying that for my home recipes. The halibut was fantastic and the sauce made it even more delicious. The tenderloin and crab was amazing and delicious hitting all of my favorite flavors. Finally the desserts were both unique and beyond compare. We came here for our anniversary and were sat in the wine room. It was quiet and felt special. We both got the Southern Honey cocktail, which was larger than expected and delicious. We also ordered off the Prix fixe menu with our starter being the mushroom soup of the day then getting different mains and desserts. The mushroom soup was the right choice because it was rich, flavorful and the perfect consistency. I got the salmon main and my husband got the fish special, which were both delicious. He then got the trio of sorbets while I got the creme brule. We agreed the sorbet was the winning dessert. The only thing we thought could've improved our experience was faster service. Amazing dinner with two work colleagues. Stated off with cocktails and escargot. Not often you get a perfectly crated Vesper and the escargot was very tasty. For the main, we got a bottle of wine, two broiled flounder with lump crab topping specials and one Filet Mignonette entree. Came here for my birthday dinner while visiting Williamsburg. Top-notch service and food. Beautiful restaurant with a relaxed yet upscale atmosphere. We opted for the 5-course experience. My companion had the beef tartare, and I had the tuna tartare, both very generous portions. They also bring out fresh, warm bread and softened butter (softened butter is a huge plus in my opinion). For our second course, he had the soup, and I had the salad - again both fresh and large portions. The third course was a sorbet palate cleanser, it was a nice addition. For the fourth course, I had the Boeuf et Homard. I personally did not care for the sauce on the steak; I know French cooking has a lot of sauces, this one was just too much for my tastes. I prefer a nicely cooked and seasoned steak with not too much fuss. He had the Trio Gourmand and finished almost the entire plate. And finally, to finish, the Fondant Au Chocolat with a lovely "Happy Birthday" chocolate on top. Another guest asked if it was my birthday, and I told him it was. The restaurant lacked just a little ambiance and our waiter did get lost in the weeds for a few minutes but made an effort to recover. We weren't impressed at first by the way we were greeted but again they recovered. We enjoyed a nice bottle of Stags Leap and Irish Coffees. This beautiful French restaurant was all I hoped it would be. The food was absolutely impeccable. My husband had soufflé for dessert; he said it tasted like scrambled eggs made by angels. I tasted it: light, airy, delicious. I had perfectly cooked halibut and a beautiful apple tart. The one and only flaw was the bar. My husband asked for a traditional old fashioned, and the bartender asked if he wanted it Applebees style. We couldn't tell if he was being insulting or trying to be funny or what. My drink was just bad. A French 75 should be light and lemony and gin-tastic. My drink was basically a glass of champagne. Still. If I'm ever back in Williamsburg, the first thing I will do is make a reservation at La Yaca. read more

The main course was chicken with some kind of sauce (don't ask what, no clue) but the combination was delicious. The fried potato slices were very tasty as well. The wait staff were very professional and helpful for a new-by. The ambiance was very pleasant and classy, but not too classy. I walked in wearing a Hawaiian shirt and shorts and there was no issues. While in Colonial Williamsburg we wanted to eat something different than eating at the local taverns so we found this restaurant. From the outside does not say much but the inside is beautifully decorated. Reservations are required, they opened at 5 pm and there were already people waiting outside. We were greeted by our server who recommended what we ordered, a pre fix menu for $65 which included an appetizer, entree and dessert. Our dishes were delicious. My beef was rightly cooked. The onion soup was perfect and not salty like in other places. There were lots of senior residents from the area. A high class location. We visited Le Yaca for the first time to celebrate my daughter's 18 birthday. Two of my party choose the 5-course prix fixe meal. Two other members of my party ordered a la carte. Our dining experience was relaxed and comfortable. Our server was attentive and she also went the extra mile to make my daughter feel special for her birthday. One of my daughter's order filet mignon a la carte and it was expertly prepared. My wife ordered a vegetarian appetizer followed by a chef's vegetarian entree. She was very happy with both. My birthday girl and I both ordered the 5-course meal and it was excellent. For the 1st course, I had the scallops. Excellent. The 2nd course was French Onion soup. It was my least favorite course because it was served pureed. Flavorful but lacking the mouthfeel of onion soup served elsewhere. Third course was a palate cleanser with sorbet. My 4th course was surf and turf. Expertly prepared filet mignon and lobster tail. My 5th course was the souffle. Dinner for 4 with a reasonable bottle of French Pinot Noir and tip ran about $470. Then we have had lunch. We love their 3 course option. Service is always nice. Prompt. We Love the french onion soup. The style of this place is very pretty but food isn't modern. Which is fine. It is a "modern " french take of something you would eat in the mid 90's and early 00's. The nostalgia is wonderful. Great flavors. As descendants of French immigrants, this food is very traditionally European and classic. Our server was absolutely professional, polite, attentive, and punctual. A superb experience! High end French food, with great service. We had a group of 8. We had to order from a fixed menu, with a variety of options. For starters we had French onion soup, soup of the day, which was based on creamed cauliflower, and a green salad with grapes. Soups were excellent, and the salad dressing was delicate and very satisfying. For entree, we lad beef medallions, lobster, crab cakes, shrimp with saffrons orzo. Every meal was outstanding. We ordered a variety of desserts, lemon tart, grand mariner soufflé, apple tarts, and crème brulee. The deserts were very good. The wine, and cocktails were great as well. To celebrate Mother's Day, I decided to take my mom to Le Yaca in Williamsburg. We drove out the Friday (5/12/23) before as I was working on Sundays during that time. The drive was nice without any real traffic issues and when we arrived we were seated immediately (it had to do more with that fact that I made a reservation, but also it wasn't busy yet) for lunch service. Le Yaca is beautiful inside and out - everything was clean and organized. Our table was by the bar and we were greeted quickly by Charles. Charles served us water during that initial table visit and it wasn't long before both sides realized the other was Filipino. Charles, like my mom, was born in the Philippines and immigrated to the States. Charles signifies a decently-sized Filipino/Fil-Am population in Williamsburg - surprising to us since we didn't realize many Filipinos were in this part of Virginia. Regardless, once everyone's "Filipino-ness" was established, the already-kind and hospitable Charles became even more helpful and kind, especially since he knew we were there to celebrate Mother's Day. In short, Charles took care of us as if we were guests in his own home. He went out of his way to regale my mom and I was highly appreciative of his efforts. In addition to top-shelf service within a beautiful establishment, Le Yaca knocked it out of the park with their food. Mom and I both had the Tomato & Apple & Curry Soup - delicious, it whet the appetite and it had just the right amount of heat (spice). With such an excellent starter, things only got better. For the main course, Mom had the Coquilles Saint-Jacques et Crevettes au Gratin (pan-seared diver sea scallops, wild red shrimp, orzo risotto, vegetable medley; baked with parmesan veloute "en cocotte"). She loved every bite she took and, if I remember correctly, she actually finished this dish (normally we have leftovers as our appetites are small nowadays). I had the Duo Gormand (twin filets of beef tenderloin, crispy potatoes, spinach peppercorn cognac, demi-glaze sauce, Roquefort cream sauce). My entree was too pretty to eat, but I devoured it in minutes because it was so delicious. Mom ordered dessert - tiramisu. It was another dish that was too attractive to touch, but mom ate nearly all of it before calling it quits. She doesn't like anything to be too sweet (or salty, depending on the dish). She commented that Le Yaca's tiramisu was perfectly sweet and was so light that she probably would've finished it had she not already finished her entree. So dessert was a successful endeavor, too. Suffice to say, Le Yaca was excellent from all aspects. They are worth the drive from Norfolk (which is now the only option since the VB Le Yaca recently closed its doors forever) and they will be my first choice for any special occasion. Just excellent! We were seated when we arrived for 6:00pm reservation in a spacious dining area with traditional white tablecloths. Server Omer was friendly, helpful and didn't rush us at any time. Food was excellent from appetizer to dessert. Our table of four enjoyed Dover sole specials, filet mignon, rack of lamb which were cooked as requested (perfect) and various desserts.
