    Top sirloin steak w/baked potato

If you are in Williamsburg, VA, you have to go to Aberdeen Barn for a meal. We were very fortunate to have acquired a coupon for Dinner for Two at $56.99. The server told us (Table of 5) we only need one coupon. Everyone got the 3 course meal for $28.50! Started out with Wisconsin cheese and crackers. The server brought out ciabatta rolls. We all had dinner salads with a choice of dressing. (House-made bleu cheese was amazing). Then we had a choice of Prime Rib of beef, grilled Top Sirloin or Mahi Mahi w/ shrimp. For the final course, we had a small dessert of brownie with ice cream and whip. Perfect end and just enough. The place inside looked like it hadn't been updated in 30 years, but didn't take away from the experience that we had. It was clean and well maintained.

So, I will separate service from the food. The service was A1! Everyone was very nice and super attentive. 5 out of 5 for service. Now the food on the other hand, was definitely lacking. Starting with the appetizers. We had the ribs and the shrimp cocktail. The ribs looked good but did not have a good flavor, it was a bit odd. I did not care for it at all. The shrimp was very good. But its just chilled shrimp. Moving on to entrees..my husband and I had the Delmonico steaks.... definitely not what I would consider a quality cut. The steaks were extremely tough and chewy. The entree definitely impacted this review. For the price and this being a steakhouse...the steak should have been the star of the meal. But. This is why the review suffered. It was my birthday and I got full off my baked potato and my Pepsi. Disappointed!

Me and my wife was staying at Club Wyndham Kingsgate for our Anniversary and decided to go to Aberdeen Barn Restaurant in Williamsburg for our Anniversary, June 20th 2026, the food was delicious,Our Server Mr. Harris James, He was very attentive to our needs, I will give Mr. Harris James Thumbs up, and me and my wife will be back again.

While visiting Williamsburg for a friends birthday, we chose Aberdeen barn for her birthday dinner. The hospitality was great! They allowed us to move our reservation back and Rob was a great server. We enjoyed the rolls and butter. They were crunchy on the outside yet soft on the inside. As an appetizer we ordered the bacon wrapped shrimp. I was different. I probably would try a different appetizer next time. The steak was cooked well and overall we all enjoyed our meals. Ambiance was consistent with a barn very casual.

We had an incredible 45 Anniversary dinner for my parents at the Aberdeen Barn, largely thanks to Harris James. He is easily one of the best servers we've ever had. Harris made my parents feel like the guests of honor. He anticipated every need before we even asked and never made us felt rushed or ignored. Next time we are back in town we will be sure to visit again and ask to sit in the section on Mr. Harris.

Service is excellent and honestly the best part of eating here. The food is also nice but not the best for the price; the prime rib is cooked well but has little flavor, the seafood trilogy was overcooked, and the cheese starter is... not great (stale crackers and cheese that tastes like the snack packs with the cracker sticks you can get at the gas station). Casual dining, dimly lit with old country decor.

The reputation built for this establishment: superior food, excellent service, quiet atmosphere, were all on grand display for my wife's birthday. Mike made the visit more pleasant, and the bartender made some of the best chocolate martinis in the region. But of course the food; prime rib superb. Delmonico prepared properly, and 6-oz filet was just right. A memorable night made more special by "The Barn".

We made reservations for 430pm and we were seated promptly at that time. The atmosphere has a barny look with tables and chairs with arms. The booths are low but comfortable. The female bathroom has been remodeled with three smaller stalls. We ordered our food which were lamb chops cooked medium and barn fries. The delmonico steak cooked medium well. The salad was fresh and cold. The bread was hot and melted the butter in no time. When I cut into my lamb chops, it was cooked perfectly. They were seasoned and just needed a tad bit more flavor. The steak was cooked just the way it needed it to be. It was seasoned and just needed a tad bit more flavor as well. We had sea salt and peppercorn on the table so that added what we needed. This is our 1st time here at this location. We have been to the NC location a few years ago. Our server was good and not over the top.

    Seafood platter was great.

This spot may have been here since I went to college in town in the last millennium. In all that time, I haven't ever been here. Finally I had a chance and can't believe I've waited this long! My sons wanted steaks so here we were. It is an old school Williamsburg spot and boy was I happy to start a new tradition. It is formal, dark, and stuffy which was just the way I wanted it. Most of the wait staff have been here a long time and know their jobs. I felt like I was in a new income bracket just being waited on. We started off with crackers and cheese which was like a Christmas cheese log. It tasted great. I got it because we thought our teenagers would like it and they did. Also got the bruschetta for the adults, but unfortunately they enjoyed it too! Everyone enjoyed their steaks, but I went with a seafood platter that was exactly what I wanted and tasted as good as I hoped. It came with shrimp, scallops and some fish I forgot (sorry). I went with mashed potatoes and wasn't disappointed. I can't wait to go back to Williamsburg so I can try to convince the family to return.

Service was fantastic. Unfortunately the food didn't have the wow factor that you'd expect for a higher end steakhouse. My medium rare prime rib came served up cold. Plate wasn't hot, the au jus wasn't hot and the Prime rib certainly wasn't hot. Having said that, our excellent waiter made it right bringing out another serving. But the damage was done. Makes you wonder how a steakhouse serves cold steak. I know prime rib is cooked for hours before the restaurant opens, but not heating it on the grill prior to service and on a cold plate makes me scratch my head. The rib was tender, but lacked seasoning. I had to go in with table salt and pepper. Overall the food is ok. Not bad, but not worth the $120.00 tab for 2.

I didn't get a photo but the steak was the highlight of the dinner. It was perfectly cooked and super flavorful. The fish was a little over done but the scallops were amazing. It's a little dark inside but it's a nice barny feel. The waiter was amazing. He had great suggestions and was quick to get anything we needed. I'd definitely say, get a reservation if you're going on the weekend.

I paired it with the Greek board, which had all the Mediterranean favorites. A generous amount of pita, olives, hummus, feta and grapes! I'm a sucker for a good Med plate. This has been high on my "want to try" for a long time and finally saw an opportunity with an available reservation, went for it and am so happy I did. I dined solo, which I rarely do, but this was the perfect place for it. It was apparent that most people dining were regulars. The owner was chatting with just about everyone and diners were popping over to other tables to say hello, as well. Felt like a very small town. Service was perfect - not overbearing, but perfectly timed for a good flow throughout dinner. Their menu changes often, so some of the items I loved, may not be available - but it does seem like their fried oysters are a mainstay and holy moly, they were delicious. I had one cocktail - I believe it was called Watermelon Sugar. It had vodka, aperol and fresh watermelon. Refreshing and smooth. I tried two apps: the fried oysters and the bao buns. Both were fantastic. Perfectly prepared, so much flavor. I think that next time, I would stick to the appetizer section and try many rather than getting an entree. I got the scallops, which were delicious, but the apps wow-ed me more. Prices aren't low, but you get what you pay for - really high quality dishes with lots of thought and execution embedded. I don't say this lightly - this has been added to my top 10 list in all of Hampton Roads!
