I had the porterhouse and barn fries. It was a good meal, after seeing the prime rib come out for other tables I wish I had gotten that. It is a quiet and fairly romantic place. It was chill enough that you could still talk but loud enough to not be heard by other tables. The highlight of the whole evening was our waiter. Harris James made the evening! Knew everything on the menu and would give you an honest opinion about it. If I'm back in the area I would eat here again and request Harris. read more

This restaurant has been around since 1966, the food was great and had a great atmosphere. I struck up a conversation with the bartender he's been there for a while and made sure that I got what I wanted. read more

Our favorite restaurant in Williamsburg, always a great meal. Harris always takes very good care of us. We look forward to returning.

We ate here on the evening of August 28th. We have eaten here before and were pleased with everything but this night some things were a bit off. The service seemed inattentive and unconcerned with our experience. My wife ordered the filet princess cut which was cooked nicely but the waitress nearly refused to bring her any sauce stating that she did not need it. I had the prime rib which was good however there was far too much AuJus on the plate making cutting the meat challenging to avoid a splash zone. There was also a very large chunk of fat still attached to the meat. My wife ordered a drink from the bar which came but was not what she ordered and was more like a punch than a mixed drink making it undrinkable and the waitress refused to remove it from the bill. I really want to like this place but it has dropped from being a great old school steak place to a step above a Bonanza. The ambiance is rustic and as the name implies barn like. read more

it took 10 minutes for anyone to come to table. Took a long time for food to cook.y husband enjoyed the delmonico but the prime rib had no flavor. Would not go again as it was way overpriced for the quality of food. read more

Service- Mike our server gave us great table service. Food- Everyone who had the steak loved it. Next time i will skip the fish and try another entree. read more

My sister and I had a 6:45 dinner reservation on April 17. We were seated right away and our orders ( lamb chops and pork chop) were presented to us very quickly. This attention was important as a large 2-table group was seated right after we were. This resulted in a lot of noise and a crowded situation. However our waiter, Harris James gave us outstanding service despite helping others serve the crowd. Kudos to the chef, as our food was perfectly prepared! read more

our waiter was Herbert! made our visit exceptional. Suggested a great wine for my daughter, was always checking on us. A very pleasant gentleman. And his suggestions were yum yum yum. We had the Filet mignon, the best in town, my daughter had the mahi-mahi to be honest it is the best we have ever had, we all tasted it. better then the mahi in Hawaii, and better then San Diego, which is where we are from. the apple pie a la mode ended our dinner with big smiles. read more

We had a special offer from our hotel for dinner at the Aberdeen Barn. Our meal was delicious - cheddar cheese spread and crackers, tasteful salad with Blue Cheese Dressing, perfectly prepared baked potato, a tender and tasteful prime rib, followed by a chocolate brownie and ice cream. Our waiter Harris James made the dining experience memorable even though we weren't celebrating a special occasion. read more

The service was great and the food was outstanding. Highly recommend the prime rib . The portions were amazing. Go with a big appetite .

So, while we received glowing referral, PLEASE NOTE: if you have a party larger than 7, expect to be split up, as our family was, 'to balance servers. We were placed at 3 tables in 2 different rooms -despite there being 4, yes 4 empty tables in both rooms Wish we had read other reviews before going because others said the same: Mater'd explained that she had to split us up to ensure wait staff is balanced I'm an operations person..we make those types of moves all the time to ensure we're meeting operational efficacy...when restaurants start paying more attention to 'wait staff balancing' vs seating families together, to eat together ...they should get out of the business...appreciate the 1 waiter who agreed & was mystified but unable to get leadership to adjust... first and last visit because the food was a C minor at best! Won't be back & neither will SC & VA fam we introduced! read more

Heartbreaking decline in service -- we walked out after being ignored for 30+ minutes My husband and I have been loyal customers here for a long time. We've celebrated birthdays, family dinners, and special occasions at this restaurant -- it used to be one of our favorites. Tonight, that changed completely. We were seated promptly, but then we were forgotten. Our server walked by us several times without a word. After finally stopping to clear a nearby table, he said he'd be right back. We ordered our drinks -- and then sat there for over 30 minutes with nothing. Meanwhile, the table next to us (served by the same person) was checked on constantly. At one point, the server even took a dessert placard out of my daughter's hands to hand to that table. It wasn't busy enough to justify being completely ignored, and even if it were, a simple acknowledgment would have gone a long way. When my husband politely asked the manager if we could have a different server, the response was astonishing: "You didn't have a reservation, this is the best I can do." That is not how you treat any guest -- much less repeat customers who've spent countless evenings and celebrations here. If they couldn't serve us, a simple "we're at capacity right now" would have been fine. Instead, we were made to sit, wait, and feel invisible. It's disappointing beyond words to see a place we've supported for so long lose all sense of hospitality and care. We left feeling frustrated and completely unappreciated. Sadly, after tonight, this won't be a restaurant we return to. read more

Aberdeen Barn in Williamsburg delivers a warm, welcoming, and genuinely friendly atmosphere that feels special from the moment you arrive. The full dinner experience begins with their legendary crackers and cheese--an old-school touch that sets the tone. Steaks were cooked exactly as ordered: tender, flavorful, and perfectly done. Service truly elevated the evening, thanks to our server, Harris James, whose professionalism, attentiveness, and easy charm made everything seamless. A classic steakhouse experience done right, and a place that still knows how to make guests feel appreciated. read more

This place is pure nostalgia! It's an old school steakhouse with amazing prices for the amount and quality of food. This was our kids first time to a steakhouse, and they loved every bite! The cheese and crackers were so good, the salads were crisp and fresh, and that peppercorn ranch was phenomenal. 3 of us ordered steaks, and they were prepared perfectly Medium, and seasoned perfectly. My daughter had macaroni and cheese, and it was also great! We shared the crème brûlée and mother load brownie for dessert, and they were a great ending to our meal. Our server was attentive, but not pushy. Overall, this is an excellent place to get a steak, and you feel like you're being transported back in time with the cozy old barn feel. We loved it! read more

The ambiance was so awesome, greeted nicely at the front desk and seated promptly. Our server Hubert was spot on and top notch. Very knowledgable and Hubert was Amazeballs! Served first with cheese spread and crackers. Must be complimentary, we did not order and not on our bill. Sorry no pics of menu, but check yelp menu's are on their page. We ordered a few adult cocktails. The wife had Prosecco and i had an Old Fashion. Both were spot on and very nice. The wife ordered broiled shrimp and broccoli and a salad. She loved it! I had the broiled shrimp and scallops with salad and baked potato, and my goodness it was delicious. 4 nice sized scallops and 6 nice sized shrimp. The potato was cooked perfectly. And they had french dressing for my salad..luv me some french dressing! Enjoy the food pics! Let me just mention again, Hubert was an amazing server..Thank You Hubert. Price wise, total bill less than $ 90.00 which is real good for the drinks and amount of good food. read more

If you go to this restaurant I guess you should stick with what they are best known for (meat). My sister and I ordered the shrimp and scallops. The shrimp were not fresh and they were overcooked so it made the texture rubbery. Our waiter Michael tried his best to make things right by having them cook us more shrimp but this batch came back worst than the first. Thank you to Michael for giving us such great service but unfortunately the quality of the food does not match the service you provide to the customers. read more

The atmosphere was nostalgic like an old steakhouse with all the charm and memories from when I was a kid. Clean, very friendly staff (shoutout to Brian!) and food was amazing. The food was amazing! Everything from the salad dressing to entree was delicious. My steak was cooked to perfection and with so much flavor. I've never had a reaction like I did when I ate my steak to where my wife said, "you good?" Next time we come to Williamsburg we will be coming. Thanks for giving us a memorable birthday experience! read more

I've always wanted to try Aberdeen Barn after hearing great things, and I was thoroughly pleased with my experience. The food was excellent, and the staff was incredibly friendly. The decor has an upscale country restaurant vibe that I really enjoyed. Parking is a bit limited and can be tight for larger vehicles, but overall, I'd definitely come back. read more

Google showed this close to our hotel. This was an amazing experience. Both of our servers were top notch. They immediately served up cheese spread and crackers. Later on they gave us warm bread with our salads. My daughter had the rib dinner and declared it delicious. My husband said the prime rib cut like butter. I had the broiled seafood trio. Service was non stop and perfect. All of our meals were great. The price for the meal was very reasonable for the quality and service. The ambiance was neat and clean. 100% returning next time we are in town! read more

We got there via a flyer at the place we stayed. A SPECIAL of a choice for dinner with a very limited selection, but 2 of those selections were steak and seafood. These hit both of us. Me for the steak, 2 options and her the seafood. A 'classy' place with actual white table clothes and napkins. A full bar Waiters who knew their menu We went one and the day before leaving went back a second time, because we loved the ambiance and the food was very good. I am sure if you want the are 'fancier' places and certainly more expensive, but the atmosphere was relaxed and made to feel welcomed. Plan for extra time as we did not feel rushed out of the door. ENJOY your meal! read more

We stopped in during our vacation to Williamsburg. Knowing that we were coming to a steak house with "barn" in the name, we expected casual and were surprised to see the staff dressed as if this was a fine dining establishment. Thankfully we were not out of place with our jeans. :) Service was great. For the food, we both felt that it was just ok. My steak was fine - seasoned ok. My husband's shrimp and fish wasn't seasoned well at all. He stated that his fries were seasoned better. read more

The food was okay for the price associated with the restaurant. The kids menu states they get a jr. salad, apple sauce or peach slices and a side; however, that depends on what entree item is selected. I would suggest changing that as many kids don't choose a salad especially younger children. We went at peak dinner time and the wait time was reasonable. read more
