This was the first place we ate dinner at upon arrival in Paris mid May. It was the best food we had there, so good that when daughter and hubby arrived a few days later we took them there for another dinner. The menu is on blackboards and seems to change almost daily. And as expected by the name, an excellent wine selection. We had duck (2 versions in the 2 trips), steak tartare, fish, local sausage, steak. All excellent. And the lemon tart-like desert is indescribably wonderful. Our waiter, Ben, is French but speaks British English so well that most Americans think he is. Overall a great dining experience!
Update: Our daughter and husband returned to Paris last Fall, revisited Le Vin Sobre based on our earlier experience, and were very disappointed. Ben was gone and so seemed the quality of the food. So I knocked a star off. C'est la vie! read more
