My husband and I had the most unforgettable dinner at 6 New York! Did I mention the breathtaking view of the Eiffel Tower? We let the chef surprise us with a 5-6 course meal! We were enchanted to say the least! The entire staff was amazing. The chef came out personally a couple times to make sure our meal was to our liking. The most fun surprise? For our 2 rounds of desserts our waiter brought out sparklers and said 'Tonight we are celebrating...something!!'. We had so much fun and the food was amazing and the ambience was unforgettable. Honestly the worst experience in Paris we have had - and we have been here MANY times. This was especially important because it was our engagement dinner. The server treated us like absolute dirt - despite telling them may times it was our engagement dinner, they did not listen to anything we asked for. We books weeks in advance and asked for a view, and champagne at the table. Neither. And the place was empty and they refused to let us switch. The food was less than mediocre, and the server pressured us the entire time to order more and more. Chef came to everyone's table - except ours. Even asking for the check 5 times (FIVE), server still ignored our request for 30 minutes. What a terrible experience. And the inside was also super weird, no music, very plain looking. read more

We stayed the Paris Marriott Opera Ambassador Hotel, the Concierges Annop recommended 6 New York restaurant. Indicating it a new restaurant, fine dining experience and walking distance to the Effie Tower on the Seine River. Annop made our reservations for our last night in Paris. My husband and I were greeted by the Owner Cathy Gangneux and seated at a great table. Our server gave us the menu and took our drink order. Champagne of course!! So impressed that Owner and Chef Jérôme Gangneux greeted us, told us about the specials and came back to take our order. We were provided a complimentary quinoa appetizers with vegetables- it was so flavorful. Appetizers: My risotto was so creamy and delicious! My husband enjoyed the crab with avocado purée. I so enjoyed the braised short rib, whipped mashed potatoes with truffles! Braised short ribs were so tender- braised for 20 hours! My hubby enjoyed the pork chop. Dessert- mango and coconut cheesecake! Amazingly delicious! Also given complimentary chocolate treats- so yummy. What a delightful dining experience! Thank you!! Highly recommend! After dinner took a walk, Past the MUSÉE D'ART MODERNE DE PARIS- beautiful building, Crossed the street to admire the Eiffel Tower and the Seine River. We experienced the Eiffel light show! After almost three weeks in Paris trying to find great places, I have hit the jackpot! This is now the poster child of my "favorite French restaurant". We made reservations an obscenely long time ago, but many came in and were seated without them. But, we are old folks and we got there right when they opened at 7. If you want a later time, you need to plan ahead and reserve. Taking a taxi from the Opera district we arrived early while they were still closed and it started to pour. Rather than wait to the exact time, they were kind enough to open a couple minutes early to let folks in out of the rain. That already warmed my heart. The hostess was warm, welcoming and we had an excellent seat at the window overlooking the Eiffel Tower. Shortly afterwards, we were greated by Jerome - the cook, owner, conductor, and wonderful person. We had a bottle of Sancerre with the Menu Saveurs. This was beyond perfect. It varies every day, but ours was just brilliant. Everyone started with a white bean and fava amuse-bouche. I almost went thru the blinding flash at the end of "Ratatouille". It was small but so sublime as to recall every bean dish I have had. We then went thru a parade of dishes: an spring roll which was lovely; a tuna tataki; fois gras w/ biscuit; creamy risotto; a langoustine (which was almost like butter); the most perfectly cooked cod I have ever had (we discussed it at length); and, the most tender tenderloin I have had in many a moon. All of them well paced and perfectly sized. My dinner date & I each had different courses so we would only eat half of each & swap. It was a tough game making sure the other didn't cheat on carving out what half looked like. Finally, the dessert course came. I sincerely believe we had the entire dessert tray. It was it's own tasting menu. We had so many options that I felt like I had fallen into Willy Wonka's dessert store. Each I would have considered a summit to a meal: rice pudding was devine; the lemon was AMAZING; biscuits with chocolate and a chocolate tray with a ganache / tart that brought a tear to my eye. It was so extravagant that the table beside us was asking which was what so they could order. If you are lucky enough to get in, I can assure you that you will not go away displeased. Would give 0 stars if possible. Terrible do not go here!!! I went here with my friend and I got the absolute worst food poisoning of my life. Truly so bad. The service was fine and the abiance was nice but did not make up for the horrendous stomach ache after. I've never been so uncomfortable in my life I couldn't eat anything for the rest of the week! Additionally, the next morning I was in a taxi and I threw up everywhere I literally couldn't hold it in. So bad. I booked this restaurant because I wanted to dine with a view of the Eiffel tower, and to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. We didn't get the best view, but we were able to see it light up when the sun set. Our server was super nice and funny. He seemed to really enjoy talking to all the guests and he provided a lot of great recommendations. We ordered: - Creamy risotto -- this was a great starter, and I loved the truffle and artichoke in it - Veal chop -- I had this as my entree and wowwwwww this was incredible. I would go back to Paris just to have this again. It was perfectly cooked to medium rare, so tender, and perfectly seasoned. I was obsessed with the curcuma breading and hazelnuts that covered the top of the chop. It's also a pretty hefty portion, which I was surprised by, given the price -- such a pleasant surprise. - Slice of lamb leg -- My boyfriend ordered this as his entree and he loved it. The lamb was also perfectly cooked and seasoned. We finished off with some dessert they brought out for the birthday and they had these really cute little marshmallow bears covered in chocolate. read more

Extremely close to the Eiffel Tower and many tables have the perfect view. Restaurant tables are fairly close to one another and they seem to be always busy. Food was good, & staff was very friendly. The restaurant interior design and view of the Eiffel Tower made for a very romantic setting. We had our first dinner in Paris in this restaurant and it's superb. We just walked around late after sleeping for about 3 hours in the hotel. We checked out the restaurant inside Shangrila first but their featured menu is Asian fusion so we took a cab and checked out another restaurant which was really a bummer coz it's all crowded and we ended up walking again for another 10 mins until we noticed this one which was just facing the Seine. Guess what it's says New York :). The service was great and our waiter was so nice and very attentive to details. My husband wanted to try the chefs meal which was a surprise so we really did not know what to expect . The place was awesome and we had a view of Eiffel while dining. It's our 25th anniversary trip so just imagine how special this is :). read more

What an excellent restaurant. From the ambience. To the location and impeccable service, 6 NY is certainly a a phenomenal restaurant. First and foremost the wine selection was vast and our host helped us choose a great bottle. The specials are what I would recommend. We walked up the street after making a right once we left the restaurant ...and s few blocks up after the museum were the most beautiful views of the Eiffel Tower from The bridge. Follow up your beautifully presented 6NY ig dishes with some of the Eiffel Tower ! Everything we had from The starters to the dessert was divine. But one thing I wish I could just bottle Up and take with me ...the ginger based dressing for the saumon salad ... this homemade ginger and possibly sesame/soy - I don't even know what was in it, but it was seriously intoxicating. I came here last night with my wife and I thought it was excellent. We really liked the trendy modern look and location. We both ordered the "menu saveur" with wine pairing for 76€, which is very reasonable for a nice dinner out. Basically, the chef comes to the table and asks what types of food you like/don't like and prepares something. For starters my wife had fois gras (awesome) while I had a avocado cake dish. In addition, we both had a warm yummy spring-roll + a risotto with fresh veggies and cheese. For the main course, my wife had a veal chop with all kinds of different potato (mashed, baked, crisps). I had a cod with fresh veggies, seriously, I'm not a veggie eater but they were awesome. The best part was the dessert. The waitress warned us not to eat to much - and when the dessert arrived, I knew why. I'm pretty sure we each had like 4 dishes of dessert, rice pudding, chocolate puddings, lemon tart like dish, chocolate marshmallows, and on and on and on... It... was.... awesome. Oh and the wine was really good too. Nice white wine to start, good red with the main, and a strong dessert wine with dessert... :) I recommend this place, nice, good service, not very expensive and well located. Enjoy! read more

We stumbled upon this restaurant while exploring the area near the Eiffel Tower. We travel a lot and enjoy fine dining. Initially, we were pleasantly surprised by the prices on the menu, but wondered how good the food could be for those prices in this particular location. We enjoyed what was probably the best meal we've ever had! The chef was very charming and attentive; he comes to each table to explain the specials and to take your order and checks back to see how you're enjoying your meal. We ordered the tomato appetizer, Rack of Lamb and rice pudding for dessert. OMG! Every course was outstanding from beginning to end! We will definitely dine here again on our next trip to Paris! LOVELY!! Came here for my bday to have the mystery meal where the chef comes and asks you what you don't like and if you want meat or fish. Then he takes care of the rest. The restaurant itself is nice, with a view of the eiffel tower (LOVE). We had the best seat in the house in the corner :D What is interesting is that they seem to serve different things to the men and women, so you get to try alot! apps -quinoa with a tomato gazapacho: ahhh the quinoa was DELICIOUS. Not sure what sauce they mixed into it but I could've had a bucket of this to eat to myself. -soup: lentil and then a pea soup. The pea soup was again amazingggggg. They both had (homemade?) croutons inside that were mind blowing. I know that sounds so stupid but seriously they were the best croutons i've ever had and I really wanted to ask for a plate of them to eat haha. the lentil soup was more heavy and kinda felt like a chunky bean soup (didn't like this one as much) -tuna tartare with raw veggies and guac: the tartare was fantastic! whatever sauce they mixed into it was grandd. The raw veggies were legit just raw thinly sliced veggies. really really gross in my opinion, I didn't even eat them. Of course the guac was great, but who doesn't love avocado. mains -Risotto, artichoke cooked and raw, roquette, in white truffle aroma: um the most interesting risotto i have ever had. I am not sure but either the white truffle or the artichoke made it explode with flavour. actually. I did not understand the raw artichoke (didn't eat it again). The risotto itself was beautifully cooked. They mentioned that this was a popular dish off the regular menu -veal with vegetables: They had 2 potato chips with this (i gotta say i loved this haha). The veggies were cooked just perfectly, but were a little bland in my opnion. The veal itself was a little strange. it was like pieces bunched together into a patty, but they left fat bits inside it which I had to pick out. The big win here was really the truffle sauce/gravy they gave on the side. MY GODDDD. i drank this up. Dipped it in everything and then dipped my bread in the sauce after as well. -shepards pie: okay when this came out, I gotta say I was disappointed. Shepards pie is such a simple comfort food and I really wanted to have something "fancier". But the second i ate it, I took it all back. the BEST shepard pie I have ever eaten in my ENTIRE life! It was beautiful mash potatoes sitting on top of beef and the whole thing was drowning in what im pretty sure is the truffle sauce/gravy from the veal dish. i would come here again just to eat this shepard pie. I wanted more and was thinking about this all night after. Never had I tasted such a good shepard pie. NOMZZZ dessert -chocolate trio - cake, mousse, ice cream: I don't really like chocolate so I can't say I liked any of this -white cheese sorbet with a fruit cup: k the sorbet was delicioussssss. A good friend recommended the spot, and since we were planning on climbing the Eiffel Tower, we made a reservation here for lunch. We had a bit of trouble finding it as our phones disagreed on the location and we almost ended up at a horrible place down the street called Café New York. Don't go there! The atmosphere here is modern and cool. The food is beautiful, fresh, and delicious. The wine pairings are perfect. I loved the tuna tartare. We went here based on the 5-star review. All in all, I agree! It was a great meal for a very reasonable price. There were SEVERAL courses (probably 5), each of which had various plates. The Chef was very "charming" and the atmosphere wasn't too uptight. Our entrees were our least favorite part of the meal but the desserts were AMAZING and the wine pairs perfect!
