I went on a Tuesday around 4pm. There was only one customer in there, so I was helped immediately. I got a gel manicure and a gel pedicure ($75 total). They had a nice selection of gel colors, but they displayed them differently than most salons I've been to. They painted the color onto the top of the bottle instead of having nail examples. I didn't like that! It was hard to imagine what the color would actually look like on my nails. We started with the pedicure. When the other technician was done with the other customer, she started on my manicure. It took just one hour to get the services done, which for me is pretty fast. Both of the technicians did a great job. The one complaint I have is that once the second technician started working on my nails, the two started talking to each other for a long time. It was pretty weird. I've never had nail techs talk to each other over me. Besides that annoyance, I had a good experience here. I'll be going back again. read more

Very friendly staff and clean place. Went with a friend for a gel pedicure and went back with my daughters the next day so they could get treated. They remembered me! Did a great job on all our pedicures. They do charge a fee if you use credit but don't give you snide looks like some other places I've been when you do use a card. I was up in Rochester for a friend's June wedding and a few of us bridesmaids wanted to get mani/pedis as a treat for the big weekend. We met up the morning of the wedding and drove around the neighborhood of the event. I've never had any problem just walking in for a mani/pedi before, so I figured we could easily find a place that could fit the three of us in. Turns out, it's not as easy as I thought it was to get a walk-in on a Saturday morning in Rochester during prime wedding season. After trying three places and receiving either a flat-out no or a notice of a long wait, we came across Le Va Salon. They were busy, but they had a full staff and lots of chairs. They fit us in without the bat of an eye. We even got to sit next to each other, which I was not expecting as a three-person walk-in. The staff was extremely nice and professional. We got a spa-quality foot-massage pedi for the price of the standard dip and paint that I've gotten elsewhere. (There was even a cash discount, which we all took advantage of.) One of my friends had never had her nails done before and the staff was kind and understanding of her confusion about the whole procedure. I know nail salon technicians can be gruff and rude with such customers, but the staff at Le Va guided her with a smile at every step. We were in and out in no time, with beautiful nails and relaxed muscles, just what we needed to ease the tension of an always stressful event weekend. Thanks, Le Va! read more

After 6 or 7 years of attending, I brought my friend for a pedicure to show off my salon. I had always had great service UNTIL NOW. I had the same technician I had had several times and told him how I wanted my my toenails trimmed. While in discussion with my friend, I felt severe pain and yelled out! My nail was bleeding and I realized that all of my nails had been so shortly trimmed (to the point of bleeding), and not rounded as I had asked, that it would take months for them to grow back. They said they were sorry and later put some antibiotic on my toe! They did not discount the cost or offer any other kind of remuneration. Needless to say, I will NEVER go back again. read more

I'm not sure how this place is getting so many good reviews. I just want to start by saying that this was not my first choice, I tried calling two other places for a walk in on a Wednesday afternoon, and this was the only place open. That is the one and only good thing I have to say about my experience. To start with, I don't think anyone smiled the entire time I was there - about an hour and a half. My esthetician was completely anti-social. She hardly spoke to me except when asked a direct question, and that was it. For the whole time. My chair was broken and the seat was pushed too far out from the base, so I was sitting in a crack the whole time. When I asked if they were going to remove the dead skin from my feet, she told me it was an extra $10! That is crazy. It's a given at every other salon I've ever been to. The polish on my nails is streaky and has air bubbles trapped in it, and she cut through a layer of skin with the corner of her buffer on both of my thumbs, so now they both sting. Honestly, it looks almost like I did this at home. So, if you want mediocre service, this is the place for you. Otherwise, save your money and go elsewhere. read more

I called a few weeks later and was able to reach someone to make an appointment (unlike my first time when no one answered; I'm guessing that was a holiday and they just don't have voicemail, though every business should have a voicemail...) I even had to call back and move my appointment up an hour and they were able to accommodate me. I was assigned to an older gentleman who I felt took his time and was very thorough. I think he might have gotten scolded for taking too long, but I didn't mind as I had nowhere to be and enjoyed the pampering. Even with his thoroughness, the paint job still wasn't perfect and it chipped the very next day on two nails, but c'est la vie. The pricing seems to be a bit higher than other places, though you wouldn't know it because they don't have any pricing posted anywhere. My regular mani/pedi (no gel) was $41. They offer a discount for cash buyers, but not sure if this was included in mine or not as it was a gift certificate. The bathroom was about as filthy as they come, but the salon itself was fine. There were a group of women that came in and shared some wine and had a generally good time. The workers seemed to know them all and joined in the fun and camaraderie. Overall, are there better places to go? Probably, but personally I think these places are all pretty much the same--as long as the pricing is the same and that's yet to be verified. read more

I consistently have been going here to get my eyebrows waxed. They usually do a good job with a fair price ($10), even though they raised it. Staff is not overly friendly, but friendly enough. However, I went yesterday to get my eyebrow wax and am left with a serious burn right above my eyelids. The wax was much too hot, and the next day I have a scaly red burn strip under each brow. I am very disappointed and in pain. I considered going back in to show them, but unfortunately I got a wax last minute before leaving town. This is the first problem I've had, but please be careful. read more

Overpriced and lazy. My husband never had a manicure and we were visiting the area. The place looked clean so we each got a mani $15 each. I had to ask twice to have my old clear polish removed! She insisted it was ok to leave it on. The polish was old she had to apply 3 coats to get coverage. The woman who did my hubby's nails clipped his nails and used an Emory board. She did not even buff n shine them. They were lazy. I cannot imagine going there again or why they get any positive reviews. In Florida u get much better service for 2-3 dollars less read more

No complaints. Came here with a gf for pedicures and the experience was great. They did a great job with the feet, the calf massage, never once made me flinch (that has happened before at salons) and were courteous and welcoming. The price was not bad either. I had a gel manicure from before at another place and I went here to get another one done. She didn't speak a word to me or a word of english at all. She started to use a scrub brush to take my gel nailpolish off TWICE even after I asked to soak them off TWICE. Her nail polish on her nail leaked onto my hands dying my hands red and wasn't going to take it off until I asked her to.....over all awful and will not go back there. read more

As far as strictly nail places, I've been to in Brighton, this one has been the best. They take their time, and really give a through pedicure. Most times at other places I've been rushed out and my poor feet are still a mess:-) No complaints:-) read more

Tried this place last week and am delighted to say that I have found my new favorite nail place! I called and made an appointment though they take walk-ins as well. They had plenty of manicure and pedicure stations. I arrived for a 12 o'clock appt a lil early but only had to wait a few minutes before I was seated for my manicure. I liked the fact that she pushed back my cuticles and cut the skin around my nails as well.. I have found that other places I have been to do not do this leaving me feeling like I haven't even been to the nail salon.. I brought my own color to use, though they did have a pretty good selection of OPI colors to choose from. They were quick and come to find out the manicure with color was only $15. They did ask me to pay before she put on my color, however I definitely didn't mind as this saved me trying to fish my wallet out of my purse with semi-wet nails after. Overall, fantastic for the price! I will be returning, and with friends in the future. read more

Tammy was the lady who took care of me and my feet. She was very detail oriented which I loved since I'm a little ocd about how my mani's/ pedi's turn out. She literally spent an entire hour on my pedicure. I recommend that you call ahead of time though cuz if there are other clients in the chairs already you will be waiting awhile. Writing this under my husband's account because I don't have Yelp. Pretty disappointing because they reuse the latex hand gloves they wear from client to client. Gross!!! I have been here twice and on BOTH occasions I saw the nail tech unroll wet gloves (which obviously we're just used on a previous client) and put them on her hands. It makes you question if they truly sanitize their equipment. I will never go back. I thought I was mistaken the first time I had my nails done here--but it just happened again. PASS. I went to Le Va to have a pretty bad fill repaired. Since the original was done out of town this was the best option. When the nail tech Tracy removed the polish there was fungus on one of may nails. She worked gently and diligently to get the acrylic off and remove the fungus. It was quite painful but she handled it perfectly plus fixed the rest of the bad manicure. I walked out feeling taken care of and will definitely return to Le Va. read more

I've been going to Le Va for a few years now. I tried a lot if other typical nail places in Rochester until I found this gem. It's clean and relaxing. The technicians are friendly and quiet during services. Great polish selection for gel and regular. I always make an appointment with Tracy, she does the best gel manicure I have ever had. read more

I had an OPI gel polish service done at 4pm on 04/05/2012, the gel would not set for some reason so Katie applied another coat of gel to my nails and let them dry an additional 5 minutes, after cleaning them off with alcohol they were still sticky. Katie reassured me that that's' normal and told me I was all set. I went home and 2hrs later after washing my hands several times they were till stick and some were no longer shiny like they should be after the service I just had. I returned to the salon at almost 7pm and asked her what I should do about it since they are still sticky and are now dull. She stated that's normal and that they are not always shiny. I asked her to please fix my nails because I have been getting this service done for years at this salon nonetheless and they are supposed to be shine and not sticky. She then told me that she can apply another coat of gel (now being the 6th coat) but that will make them too thick and will probably lift off after 3 days, I told her that was not acceptable. She then agreed to fix them. I sat down, she took the nail file and roughed up the top coat as they do before they take them off, stopped and said you are all set, go somewhere else now. I was completely in awe over this, at that point I told her to refund me the money, and she refused. I picked up the phone to call the police and only then she refunded me the money. At that point it was almost 7:30pm and I had 5 coats of gel polish on my nails and not many salons were open. I had to drive 20 minutes to a mall salon. It cost me $10 to have the gel taken off and another $25 to have it reapplied. This whole situation not only cost me 3.5 hrs of my time (1.5 hrs at Le Va, .5hr driving to a different salon that was open at that time and another 1.5hrs to have the gel removed and reapplied) but an additional $13. I will not be returning to a place of business that is vindictive to their customers and thinks that its in any way shape or form that that type of behavior is acceptable in a place of business. read more
