I came here maybe a little over a month ago (Feb 28 since the owner replied and wants to check the cameras) for a mani/pedi. The ladies doing my nails were super nice and I have no complaints about the process or initial work done. My issue came when I went to pay. I used card and they combined both the nails and toes into the final charge which makes sense. I started to fill out the receipt and left a 20% tip on the total. The nail tech came up and asked me if the tip I left was for each person. And I tried to explain that it would be split between them both. She then asked if I could do the 20% of the total for each nail tech. Major mouth drop from me - I've never had someone ask me to tip them more. I'll give it to her that it was bold ... but it felt like she was bullying me to get more money out of me. 20% on the total is a great tip and I feel like it should be up to the salon/business on how they want to split that between the two techs. SHE THREW IT IN TRASH AND KEPT WORKING. IM PUZZLED was it in these towels, or in the bowl? SMH trying to keep a positive attitude and calmness. I sat there. IM PANICKING inside and to my family member. like I know that isn't what it appeared to be to me! I'm asking - the 3 females spoke in another language kept heads down working. *Meanwhile NEXT the bowl OVERFLOWS!!!! Water everywhere!!!! They get more dingy towels with holes this time to clean it. Our shoes sat in a water puddle til the end! Until I found a towel and dried them Off *Back to the experience - this one female came in the one working on my family member rushed so fast she didn't put her shoes in reach and let arms up on spa chair and my family member needed help! She was working on this other lady smiling n speaking English!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was in awe Next they go get the whitest towels in the building and also gathers a replica of a Dyson Cool Tower fan and aims it at this ONE female and 4 were hot in the back of their building attaining services. They were very engaged with the one female only! I felt many emotions most of all I wanted to leave but my family member wanted to treat me to this place as she enjoyed it prior to this day! My family member waited in front by door as my pedi came to a close, and we catch one another's eye and a bigger version of "THE BUG FAMILY" is crawling slowly across the floor! Reassuring me what was on me, and killed on my right arch!!!!!! She went out and I hurried to leave. No one ever acknowledged anything that happened to me; and mgmt never came apologized for the bug(s), flies, & there was even bumblebees in the salon!!!! SO MUCH I COULD SAY HERE BUT I WONT. Service was good before, but the last time I went a week ago with my mom, the older lady kept telling my mom she didn't have an ingrown nail but we have went here before and other workers assisted her with the ingrown big toe nail. My mom tried her best to tell the situation but the worker kept insisting there was nothing to cut. Right now, she is in pain and another salon assisted. I did not like the way the worker talked to my mom to just let her cut her nail and my mom seemed a little sad since she is not one to speak out but she did say she feels the ingrown still. Wish for the customer service to improve. There was another mother and daughter getting their nails done and they said that the workers were in a rush. I saw they were a little rude to the workers but I feel the worker should have acknowledged my moms ingrown and not tell her theres nothing to cut and to let her just cut her nails Based on the manager's response, we are real customers and came on a Wednesday afternoon 4 pm. I have only GOOD things to say about Tran and her business. I have been going to Le V Nails for approximately 1.5 years, and I have always been given amazing service. Everyone is nice, professional, and greets me with a smile when I walk in. That is partly due to the fact that I treat them all with respect as well. Tran is incredible at nails, and she trains her employees to do the same. She has very high standards. If you ask Tran politely to fix an issue you have with a nail or service, she will handle it. No need to cause a dramatic scene! Time and again I see customers being so rude to the employees - for no reason! Don't go in there and be a b*tch, then expect them to not feel uncomfortable afterwards. Treat them like humans, not your servant. Everyone I have had assist me there in 1.5 years has been very nice, apologetic if something hurts for second, try to fix anything that I kindly ask them to fix, etc. Please give grace to other humans who are at work. Updated review: after a day or two I had a nail break off because of my fault for being rough on my nail with the ice maker. I went in to get one nail fixed and i was in there for over an hour !!! I broke it so i offered to pay. Tran took care of it but what i noticed was that it was not was not consistent from the original work. Nail was not smooth and visible two layers of uneven gel polish. The nail was visibly different from the rest. After a couple days i had 2 nails fly off and started noticing the acrylics were put way to thin and the tips too close to the top and my nails were short. I have NEVER had nails just fly off like that. This was poor work. Since then i have had 5 fly off within the first week of having them. Original review: I just wanted to shout out california nails!! its now been taken under new management. I just had my full set from Tran. She was amazing, she makes customers feel seen. i usually come here and just have an airpod in and am listening to music but Tran made me feel engaged in her work and business. The pricing at this place is super reasonable for the services they provide! I got a gel manicure and removed my old Japanese gel. It took awhile for them to remove my old extension pieces but they were really patient and didn't charge me extra for removal. My gel manicure including removal was $25. They charge $1 for credit card transaction fee. I got my nails done for just $26!! The lady who helped me, Nguyen was really patient with me when I was picking my color. She let me try on like 8 colors before I decided on which one I wanted. She did a great job with filing, shaping, and coloring my fingernails. Definitely recommend!
