Review for service I received in February. This is the best nail salon I have ever been to. This was my third time at this nail spa. I love how easy it is to make appointments and how kind everyone who works there is. I went to get a pedicure for my wedding. I told the woman giving my pedicure why I was getting it and she was excited with me. It was such a nice, relaxing and exciting experience. The quality is wonderful as well. I also love the environment. It's always busy, but they make time for you. It's very clean as well. I love that they use cleanable bowls for your hands and feet as opposed to pedicure tubs in chairs. They also make their own scrubs which are great! I highly recommend this place! I am SO sad I moved out of state, this place is one of a kind. read more

I think I've found it! A nail salon that's ideal for gal-pal meetups! I am not religious about getting my nails done, and am not in search of 'the best' long-lasting manicure or whatnot. I go to the salon as more as a social thing, to catch up with a friend while getting pretty-fied. So, I'm always searching for a spot with a clean classy ambiance, lots of comfy chairs to sit side by side, and decent prices. Le Petit is the best I've found! The vibe is really calm, it's tastefully decorated with pretty paper flowers on the wall and sparkling little chandeliers. The mani/pedi chairs are comfy black leather recliners, and they use metal foot tubs for pedis (more sanitary, apparently). The mani-pedi combo is $38, and is very thorough with massage, scrub, etc. They have a solid color selection, and very nice technicians. They take appointments and walk ins. An adorable little spot on Solano Ave, and a relaxing experience from start to finish. Will definitely be back for more lady dates! read more

My first nail salon experience in the East Bay and unfortunately I will not be back. The girl who did my nails was super sweet but she just didn't put enough OOMPH into scrubbing my feet. I was asking her about the callus treatment and from the side another employee (maybe the manager? or senior nail person? idk) rudely says "That's extra". I obviously know this. I continue asking my question to my girl and the chick repeats herself TWO MORE TIMES "It's extra". Like ok I get it. I know it costs extra, I was asking what type of remover substance they use. The rude woman was doing the nails of a lady next to me and she was so sweet to her and friendly. No idea why she was so rude to me... maybe because I'm Japanese..? Left with such a bad taste. I REALLY appreciate the gloves for the curing light (LED lights are the same as for tanning beds- this is the Only nail salon in the bay I've been to that provides gloves to everyone instead of having to bring my own/request them). I was searching for a new nail salon that was closer to me (and hopefully less expensive) and chose to try le Petit Nail Spa as they were across the street from my bank. Let me start with a positive; the ladies were very nice. Instead of spa chairs, they had two large stuffed (germs?) chairs. They used small plastic dish washing containers for my feet with lukewarm water. The young lady who did my feet washed the bottom of my feet, cut the nails a little bit, but no ingrown toenail or cuticle attention. The hand lady, who was very nice and spoke English, made each nail on my hands look different. Sorry, I will not return. read more

The first couple of visits were fine, just a simple gel polish on short nails but the last visit (SAT.afternoon before ) was awful. Not only did the technician cut my cuticles, she cut a piece of my skin. I felt a burning sensation on all my fingers, I could tell she was rushing and was so rough. Once I started bleeding, I just knew a gel polish was out of the question. As to resolve the problem I asked for a simple manicure but after a couple of days my nails looked hideous. As to hide the embarrassment it lead me to paint them myself so after three days the polished peeled but I really needed to heal for a day/ two as the cut was deep and painful. My cuticles are damaged and I am still healing from the deep cut hence the scab. They charged me $10.00 versus the full price for gel polish nails and spoke to me as they were providing me a favor and were condescending trying to convince me I was fine. Seriously! They thought I was fine? I was still bleeding when I got home and I had to ask them for a band aid. They didn't bother to suggest a bandage they didn't give a hoot. As mentioned the first couple of visits were fantastic and impressionable but this last one ended like a bad date. read more

I came here yesterday for a mani pedi and it was quite lovely. The women were super friendly and gentle. I felt well taken care of. It would be a 5 start review except for the fact that I really missed the more traditional pedi chairs with the sink in the bottom (the brought a bowl of water instead, though the temp was great and it didn't get cold while my feet were in it)... it's just a personal preference. Not sure why I didn't write this review back in May when I visited for the first time. Better late than never though. My 4 year old daughter and I went in for services on a Thursday. My wee one got a mani/pedi and I got a shellac manicure before a 3 week trip I was taking. It's a nice place, though it's pretty small, with everything and everyone close together. It was surprisingly busy for mid-day on a Thursday but they let us in without an appointment, just had to wait a few minutes. The woman who did my daughter's nails didn't seem *too* keen on working on a child, in spite of them offering a children's service. She seemed to get a little frustrated with my girl, who would've sat still but the woman didn't give her clear instructions. She was nice to her though, that's what really matters. She even honored my daughter's request of alternating the colors on her fingernails. The woman who did my nails seemed really shy. She didn't make eye contact with me and didn't speak clearly to me until several minutes into my manicure. She didn't give me instructions about what to do with my hands in the polish curer until it had been several minutes (I needed to move my hand to keep it activated, apparently) even though I told her it was first shellac manicure and I'd never had a gel manicure. The mani lasted for more than 3 weeks without chipping. No major problems though. I would definitely go again. They have a nice selection of colors too. read more

I had my first visit here today and was very pleased. First off the staff is very friendly! I loved that. Most places hardly acknowledge that you even walked in the door. I was surprised that there were no pedicure chairs and even more surprised when a bowl of water was brought out. But the water was very warm and the chairs are amazingly comfortable. The lady who did my pedicure was amazing. I also had my eyelashes tinted and they came out fabulous. I visited as a walk-in costumer. Reception is in the rear of the salon so it was not immediately clear on where I should go. The nail techs didn't greet me or provide much guidance, and understandably because they were busy; a quick look around it was clear that I should head towards the back. I received a welcome greeting from the receptionist and was able to schedule an appointment for an hour after arriving. When I returned for my appointment I was seated in a pedicure chair and the nail tech began the selected service. This is when it got weird. I am fat and asked for a minor adjustment with the placement of the mobile ottoman, and I guess they thought I was uncomfortable because the nail tech kept asking: Are you okay? Are you comfortable? Now, normally I would think how kind to ask, but I sleep during pedicures and she kept waking me up to ask. Then, the receptionist came over to ask a couple of times too. It was excessive and disruptive to my would be relaxing pedicure and cat nap. Since it was difficult to take my cat nap, I looked around the salon and admired the high ceilings until I noticed the spider webs and dust. I grew up with high ceilings which can be an attractive feature, but a pain to clean. Plus, where there are spider webs there are spiders. So I was ready to leave. The foot work was average. Nothing special, but she got the job done. I wish I could go back to my old nail salon. Sad face. read more

Also, my appointment was set for 2:45pm for a color change and I was inside the nail shop at 2:52pm! Only a few minutes late! I was not greeted with a smile or anything. The work the nail tech did was mediocre. I didn't look like she wanted to even do it. I understand everyone makes appointment! YET... while I was in there for over 30 minutes. Then when it came down to my pedicure, I choose the September Special which was coffee stub and omg they did the most!!! When you search on Yelp for a spot the reviews are mostly about the manicure. Well today I'm gonna let you know about my pedicure experience at Le Petit Nail Spa. It's a cute little spot, and not a bunch of technicians so it wasn't crowded. I'll just get to the point instead of going through a bunch of nothin. Bottom line is I need someone who's gonna go Myra on my feet. I need you to be aggressive with the scrubbin and get all up in there and get whatever's in there out. I'm patting myself on the back!!! I chose the perfect nail salon to bring my 4 year old for her very first mani/pedi (Princess mani/pedi $20)! I was able to make a reservation for us and we arrived on time and expected. The nail spa was so tranquil and inviting, not your typical nail salon with a row of nail stations and massive pedicure chairs with attached bowls. This place was PEACEFUL, guys!!! They had tasteful, comfy lazy boys and they did our mani pedis right there and then with a large bowl brought to us to soak our feet and even utilized the recliner on the lazy boy chair for my little one. I was actually really happy it wasn't the traditional pedi chair because I wondered how my daughter would reach the bowl. They used a step stool for the bowl and it was perfect. I chatted with Tipi, she was so sweet to me and my daughter. Her and Van worked on me and another young lady (name?) worked on my daughter-- they were so friendly, helpful and so impressed with my daughter. They always made sure she was comfy and ok-- even lifting her up and scooting her back so she was in a better position instead of slouching in her lazy boy. My daughter sighhhhhheeed in contentment and said to me, "Mommy, I love this place!" We are just so happy with the service and the actual nail work + quality. Everything about my daughters 1st experience at La Petit Nail Spa was exceptional -- setting the bar high for this 4 year old! Smh! What have I created?!!? Lol!! Hey even host birthday parties so I'm pretty sure I know where my daughter wants to have her 5th birthday with her gal pals! How awesome would that be?! Pricey but sanitary. Got a standard pedi with added callus treatment. Pedicure was done in less than 25, maybe even 20 mins. Giving 4 stars because of punctuality, accommodating modifications to appointments, and sanitation. Pro Kept appointment time and were punctual. Cute place. Lots of polish choices. Sugar scrub and massage on legs was nice but short. Sanitary. They opened a new packet of tools (buffers, trimmers, etc) per guest like how dentists have a tool set per patient. Cons Paid extra $10 for callus treatment that was an added gel on the calluses and no additional time scrubbing. Or any intensive scrubbing for that matter. I have that same product myself and wasn't expecting the treatment to be just that. I wasn't a fan of the bucket of soapy water for your feet. The temperature was lukewarm and it was essentially used to rinse off my feet. No time spent soaking. I didn't like all the bubbles especially since the technicians don't wipe them off your feet. When they do, it's using the towel that has all your nail trimmings on and some got on my feet when they did dry them. Lastly the tip breakdown. They start pre-calculated tips at 25% all the way up to 35% which is insane. The button to choose custom tip is hard to find and resulted in my friends giving more tip than intended. read more

Although Naveana was clean and attractive, I didn't like that I couldn't schedule an appointment 6 or 7 weeks in advance and after getting a pedicure on a Saturday the last time I was there, I just felt like part of an assembly line. I felt no connection and no loyalty to the shop, although I liked Kim and felt she did a good job. Today I walked into Le Petit Nail Salon around 2:00. I figured it was unlikely I could be seen then, but wanted to schedule an appointment, which I did for 3:30. I went home for a while, then returned. I parked on the side street and walked over. I was greeted and seated in the chair closest to the desk. The music playing overhead was New Age/meditation music. Relaxing not engaging. There's an attractive display of artificial flowers on the wall. It's clustered in a bunch and then looks as if the wind had blown the rest of the blossoms across the wall. I hadn't seen that sort of decor before and it was very appealing. I was offered water or hot tea, Water was run in a metal bowl and I soaked my feet while I waited for my technician. The manager (I asked her name and already have forgotten it!) was very helpful, running the water, taking over the task of painting the toenails of the woman before me, etc. Joy was my technician. She was both strong and gentle. She did a very good job w/ my feet and nails, asked me if I lived close by and generally made good contact. She rubbed some fresh lemon and a sugar scrub w/ pumpkin spices on my legs after the pedicure. It smelled delicious and felt terrific. When she was finished she helped me put on my sandals. I felt well taken care of. Pedicures are $26, what I had been paying at Onzen. A sign stated that they prefer cash or checks, although they do take credit and debit cards. I tried out this place for the first time a few days ago. I normally like cheaper places, but this one had such great reviews. The place is really clean (and empty when I came in on a weekday morning) with a lot of open space and natural lighting. It's a great location. I went in for a mani&pedi and was pleasantly surprised that I was seated in a recliner and they used a big bowl of hot water for the pedicure. I have so much more trust in that system than the chairs with the whirlpool because those seem way less sanitary. Their nail polish selection seemed a bit small, but I found something I liked so it didn't matter. The manicure and pedicures were both great. Whatever sugar scrub thing they used was magnificent and I believe they make it themselves. I also got the gel/shellac on my nails and it was done very carefully. I hate when I get bubbles or weird lumps in them so I am a big fan of places that take their time. It's been a few days and my nails still look great. Toward the end of my appointment, my meter was about to run out so one of the women added some more money to the meter for me. I was so shocked that they were willing to do that! She asked for my keys too, and I think she was going to move the car if that had to be done. The only downside that I can think of is that it was a bit pricey. I suppose the price I paid is worth the care and sanitation that they provided though. I totally 100% support this place. It doesn't hurt that I am Vietnamese so we were able to chat comfortably. I've been to this quaint nail spa several times and have had very good pedicures. They offer a good variety of polishes, many non-toxic. The women who work there are professional and friendly, but not too friendly if you know what I mean. I am looking forward to taking advantage of their mid-week special - a mani/pedi for $35. Even tho LePetit doesn't have massage chairs, I don't care because the nail professionals are great and the environment is serene. I was promptly seated and then ignored for the next twenty-five minutes . Acted chill , read my phone but really unhappy at having to wait as it was a busy day for me . Next thing, a tall blond woman about half my age enters the salon where they promptly greet her . " What time is your appointment ? " one of the workers' asks . The young blond woman replies 11: 00. Said to myself they better not start her pedi before mine ! ......Twenty minutes late ? No problem . Yep ! They sure as hell did start hers before mine . I wasn't going to say a word and decided I just wasn't ever coming back, but the male owner walked over to me after the nail tech had finally started my feet and gave me a cheesy double thumbs up . At which time I gave him a double thumbs down . He seemed surprised and asked what the problem was so I told him . Ended with " I'll never be back. " ........ He never even apologized, just made excuses about how appts were late sometimes as though he's a friggin' dr. or something . Then they were out of of the polish color I picked , so I picked something else from their stupid plastic clangy thing . Picked a light pink and the snotty nail tech proceeded to " school me " in the shade of pink I had selected . Guess she doesn't know I work with color . Anyway, clear she was sticking up for the boss . Appt. before that , used my gift certif. from Dec. 2019 and the owner commented on how old it was ! Huh ? Last I checked , nail salons were closed for over a year for that little thing called the pandemic. .......Lastly, their chair / foot bath thing is super uncomfortable . And place needs a good cleaning . Gawd only knows what's in that carpet. So , Mr. Owner , you might think twice before you ignore the next old lady for 25 min while you wait on someone who was late first . I love coming here to get my nails done as it's truly a relaxing experience. The interior is airy, quiet, and easy to breathe in. This makes me feel better in that both I and my nail technician aren't struggling to breathe through chemical fumes. Joy did my nails for my wedding and was incredibly meticulous.
