The food was ok. However at the price point, I don't think it was worth it. Portion sizes were a tad small. Our burrata salads came out with just three slices of cherry tomatoes each. The animation for the seafood bisque showed a variety of seafood but we got four pieces of shrimp. The steak was chewy and sparse. The vegetables ended being the most flavorful part of the dish. I can see this being a fun show for families and children, but once again I don't think it justifies its price point. The event took place in a cramped space in the back of a hotel. The staff were lovely and attentive. They were very patient with the children who attended the dinner. I do appreciate their service.

This is our second dinner at the Petite Chef. We made reservations in advance & enjoyed the meal & experience with another couple. Our burratta salad, bouillabaisse, lobster tail, and ice cream sundae were delicious. This 2 hour unique dining experience begins with an animated chef who dances across our plates. This tiny little chef jumps around our plate cooking dinner with him & taking us on the journey with him. The waiter explained each course, while appetizers to desserts are 3 dimensional, interactive & very entertaining.

When my wife booked this for us I was a bit skeptical, BUT, I must admit - Le Petit Chef was such a fun and unforgettable experience! The food was much better than I anticipated, beautifully presented, and paired perfectly with the creative storytelling. It comes with a price, but it makes for a truly unique night out!

A mixed experience. There were no instructions given that it is necessary to go to the third floor to check in and get access to the 46th floor where the event takes place. After several failed attempts, I discovered it's not possible to get there from the floor on which my room was located. Another unpleasant surprise was a 10% "administrative fee" that goes to the operator in addition to the 15% mandatory gratuity that goes to the staff. Of course, there is also the 8.875% NY State sales tax. That's all a big chunk on top of the $271 per person for the food and wine pairings. I don't mind the gratuity and the sales tax is to be expected, but the administrative fee seems deceptive. A more honest approach would be to outright price the meal at $300. However, the staff was courteous and helpful. Of course, the view from the 46th floor is amazing. The space is surrounded by glass. The 3D animation with the meal was interesting and enjoyable. The food was excellent with well-chosen wine pairings with generous pours. I thought the burrata and fig first course was terrific. Next came a marvelous lobster risotto. The animation before the food was delivered showed the tiny chef wrestling with a lobster. I thought the short ribs were terrific. Perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The dessert was stellar! It was a fantastic experience. I cannot bring myself to give 5 stars to a place with an administrative fee but now that you have been forewarned, I highly recommend La Petite Chef and hope this popup becomes permanent! Yet, I just discovered the final annoying surprise: despite being in the Marriott they do not accept room charges. Oops, yet one more annoyance. It requires a host card to call an elevator to leave the restaurant. We had to wait several minutes for a host with a card to call the elevator. And then, it only goes to the first floor so if staying in the hotel, one must go all the way to ground level and then take another elevator back up to room level. Yet also, the elevator strangely stops to pick up people on other floors going down to street level. The post meal experience dropped my rating to two stars. Bottom line: great concept, food and service, but poorly managed. What the heck are the operators and hotel doing to deserve the extra 10%?

I think this can be a fun experience for kids, but I don't think the food or the projections really justify the price. Service was amazing but the food was not memorable at all. First off, service was A+. While we were waiting for table, we were greeted with cocktails and hor d'oeuvres. We had to share our dinner table with another couple, but 50% was taken off our bill for the inconvenience. I appreciate the discount, and luckily the couple were a pleasure to meet, but private conversations with my husband were out the window. There were 4 courses with accompanying wine. I opted out of the wine and was offered nonalcoholic drinks. They did not offer new drinks with each plate like they did with the wine. My 3 star rating is more for the food. At $270/person, I expected better food. The first and main course were disappointing. Because the projections all go on at the same time, you are also at the mercy of the slowest eater at the restaurant. Not great if you are in a rush to catch a broadway show, like the couple seated with us!

Purchased tickets to this show and dinner during a 72-hour flash sale and got BOGO tickets. Unfortunately it was a rainy day so the view wasn't as amazing as it would've been but service was amazing and each dish and drink was well explained. The show portion is projected on your plate setting showing a chef cooking your dish with some added comedy in the show. While it was a little short, only a few minutes for each course, it made for a fun dining experience. All the wines and food was good; however, the lobster risotto was missing some seasoning as it was quite bland where the rest of the meal was flavorful. The meal and dinner consisting of some light bites before dinner, 4 glasses of wine, a 4 course dinner and a mini show came out to approximately $135 per person with all the fees was worth it although I wouldn't pay full price.

Visited this place for dinner with family while in NY and it was such an experience. We loved the dinner and a show. It was very filling by the end because its allot of different dishes to try. The food was amazing, service was great and the views were insane.

A very interesting take on eating food with animations on the table. It was a fun and enjoyable dinner experience. Taking stars out because the food wasn't on par with the overall experience and the service as well. For my entree, I had to wait 30 minutes and stare at others enjoying because the kitchen miscounted.

This is one of the most interesting interactive dining experience with wine pairing. The restaurant is located inside Marriott Marquis's. This is fine dining experience, so the server was really nice.

Desert, it was fabulous! The only picture that didn't have a rainbow running through it

Great way to kick off my NYC vacation, fabulous food, we enjoyed the wine pairings selected for each course, and of course the entertainment in between meals was unique and memorable. I will come here again next time I am in town. The service was spectacular and the ambiance was intimate and the views of Times Square was an added bonus.

Cute chef videos, but the food was pretty bad, especially for the cost. Kids might enjoy it, but I can't recommend it for adults.

It was my first time there but I was expecting the menu I saw online, not this new one. We tried 2 drinks: one inspired by Turkish figs and one inspired by lemons and the "Miracle Berry", which inverts your palate and turns sour into sweet! I really enjoyed both drinks. The figs one came with a sweet fig granola bite and the lemon one really did taste sweet after eating the "Miracle Berry"! I'd definitely come back to try their many other drinks.

I liked how they organized the menu by country/geography to facilitate an understanding of the flavor profiles. I got two of the date & fig-flavored smoked whisky drinks and it was a well made, balanced, and very good. Not cheap at some $25 or something, but middle of Manhattan with some creative ingredients means I guess it is what it is. Servers seemed a bit annoyed to have to deal with us shortly before close as I think they were hoping to usher people out and close down maybe a little early. One the one hand I get it, on the other hand you've got two paying customers on a slow night.

Patent Pending is has such cool speakeasy vibes, think dimmed lighting and candles at each table in a very intimate space. We ordered both the chips and bar nuts to go along with our drinks. And instead of wine, I opted for a cocktail! They have a pretty extensive cocktail menu with all these crazy concoctions. It was dark when we entered the coffee shop but an ajar door gave way to the bar. The decor is a homage to the works of Nikola Tesla, which can be seen in the subtle electric theme throughout the space and the naming of the cocktails. The space isn't too large - the bar and stools take up most of the space but they also have some booths/tables. The place looks great. The cocktail menu is very creative - I got one of their seasonal mixes that was actually two drinks in one. The main cocktail was meant to be sipped first and they provided a small glass of beer to be sipped after. The name escapes me but it was very good. Since we had cocktails at dinner, we only stayed for one round. Service was good, and overall I enjoyed my time at Patent Pending. I would definitely return to explore more of their menu.

The well-crafted cocktails present thoughtful riffs on the classics, inventive without being showy. While the dim lighting and intimate atmosphere practically beg for a secret rendezvous (there's an ostrich involved), I met up with a friend for the decidedly unscandalous purpose of doing our intention setting for the year over libations and nibbles. I opted for a pastel sour while my companion asked for a drink called The Last Word - it was no longer on the menu but they obligingly made it for us anyway. The menu consists of mostly small plates and is seafood forward, but we shared a petite dish of steak frites, tender and cooked perfectly medium rare. Our server was very sweet but service was slow on the night, and by the time we received our utensils the food was cold.
