Victoria salad

We came across Le Monceau as we walked home one evening and decided to give it a try. They seated us happily and started us off with complementary peanuts and a rosé wine aperitifs (great start while we settled in and browsed the menu). The menu has English "subtitles", which was very helpful, and the servers were very nice and did their best with English as well. We started with the escargot and tortellini, then had the Victoria salad and the Carbonara for our mains. We also shared a bottle of white wine, and finished with the Moelleux au Chocolat (chocolate lava cake) to share. The food was great and we left happy and full - the salad was especially remarkable, as it had a ton of veggies and lettuce which seems unusual for France). Total bill came to 87.50 euro, which I'd call reasonable for Paris :)

Never been to Paris before and the wonderful girl at the Hilton executive lounge told me about this place when i told her i was not looking for fancy just great food. It was early by French standards to eat dinner (around 7 PM) and only a few locals in the place. The service was good and the food was great. The owner or manager (not sure as my french is not good at all) came over 3 or 4 times during the meal to make sure it was all ok. He even walked us out when we were done. I would not hesitate to send anyone to this place.

Wine list was good.

Oh my goodness, what a find! We stopped here for no better reason than our apartment was right…read morearound the corner and we were in the mood for a nice French lunch. Such good luck! I started with the free-range eggs with mayo, and my wife started with the leeks with vinaigrette. The eggs were delicious, but the leeks may have been the best preparation I've ever had in my life. For our main courses, she had the egg muffin, and I had the sausage and mash. Our meal was superb. Whoever is in the kitchen has clearly learned the art of French cuisine well. Service was fantastic, the people-watching (we ate al fresco) was fantastic, and I simply couldn't think of a way to make this a better meal.

Luca was my server and he was very welcoming in hospitable to this weary traveler. I sat on the patio towards the end of the row so I could take in the atmosphere and people watch a bit. Luca Recommended a meal with a mashed potatoes and sausage with French bread and salad and it sounded tasty so I gave it a go! All the flavors went well together; mashed potatoes were well seasoned the sausage had a good flavor, and the salad with the vinaigrette added a crunch in an extra flavor as well. I drank a French hard cider while I gobbled up my meal, which also was new for me and tasted great after I was done my meal. Luke brought me a shot with rum and some other ingredients, including lemon that definitely hit the spot after a good meal.I recommend Brasserie Belanger for anyone near GDN Train Station that enjoys great food and patio dining. Cheers!

Everything about the evening was incredible. Starting with the fact that you walk into a pharmacy…read moreand then head downstairs. Sit at the counter to get the full experience of watching the kitchen staff do their thing. Our waiter explained the menu, suggested we could do 3 starters each, or a traditional starter and entree. We opted with the 6 starters, planning to share them all. First was an amuse bouche. It paired perfectly with the glass of champagne we started with. We then chose our dishes. The sea bream carpaccio was amazing, delicate and citrusy. That came with the scallops, two scallops sitting on a celery root puree, with truffle. Then we had the pig trotters, and the langoustine ravioli with food gas sauce. The trotters were amazing with a pickled cabbage, delicate sauce and shaved Comte. (My husband was skeptical of this one, but ate most of it!) . The langoustine dish was delicious. The foie gras sauce was delicate and not overpowering . Finally we had the lamb, and the chicken gyoza with Parmesan and smoked duck. Again, delicious. The sommelier was a great help with the wine. We started with a glass of champagne. Mine was a glass of Sauvignon blanc, and we shared a bottle of Pinot Noir. A glass of Gewürztraminer paired perfectly with the dessert of crème caramel, served with warm, lemony madeleines. You cannot go wrong.

Arrived in a clay pot and the beef was so tender and flavorful. Stewed potatoes and carrots were also in the au jus and flavorful too. Wish I had something (other than the bread) to soak it up! + Lasagna Bolognese - Tried a littttle bit of it and it was solid.
