Eclats Comtois ravioli with pesto cream and zucchini fritters.
    Melissa L.

I dined in for lunch while on vacation! It's a cute corner cafe with both indoor and outdoor seating. We were waited on right away and the food came out quickly. I ordered the Eclats Comtois and they were absolutely delectable! The pesto cream sauce was so creamy and flavorful, and the ravioli were cooked perfectly. Served with a side of chewy fresh baked bread. Mmm! We couldn't leave without trying the famous Matilda cake, right out of the movie! It was so moist and chocolately! 4 of us shared the huge slice! No regrets!

Wonderful brasserie restaurant in St Germain de Pres. You can't miss the corner restaurant in the busy Rue Dauphine, ideal for people watching. Great service starting at the door all the way to the table. We had snails (escargots), the charcuterie platter, steak tartare, steak & frites, the duck, glass of Pernod, a Kir Royal and a bottle of Merlot. All delicious. Highly recommended.

This was my steak frites. I think they microwaved it. The single star is for my fries and wine. Average but okay. Do not let the cute exterior and people inside fool you. Worst dinner in Paris maybe even my life. Server was nice when he decided to be attentive... which was rarer than my steak. But please don't come here.

We stopped in actually just to have coffee and we weren't familiar with the concept of take away yet. We were seated and I ordered a cappuccino, GF a latte. Both were as good as these beverages usually are. I liked that they included sugar on the side which has been omitted in some of my recent coffee purchases in Paris. Even though we were about to have lunch, we decided to order the cheese toast which is a slice of bread toasted to perfection and topped with melty cheese one of which being Brie or Camembert, maybe both, who's to say, with other cheese. This was BETTER THAN SEX but it would be hard to fuck that up. I do also believe there was tomato sauce in there somewhere which made it even more delicious. They were able to accommodate our early check getting/departure because we had a lunch reservation coming up.

Because it is a very quaint French brassiere with small plates, delicious bread, wine and cheese, all of which are right up my alley . I had salad greens with various cheeses and a perfect vin rouge. Wish I could say I'll be back soon.

Beautiful atmosphere. Great customer service. My new favorite location.

Amazing! Loved the energy of the location. The service was great. I loved our time here!

    Cute corner brasserie.

Excellent service which made the evening quite memorable...and the food was fantastic. One of our first "authentic" French meals in France - I had the pleasure of introducing my guests to popular French cuisine and Le Nesle was the perfect restaurant in which to get folks acclimated. The place isn't too pricey - in other words, if you order the tartare or escargot and no one likes it, you won't rage in frustration over the price. Casual spot, fast and friendly service and very patient staff who helped explain preparation of each dish. My guests weren't picky eaters, just new to French cuisine and it was so nice to not have to worry whether or not we would return a dish half eaten simply because it was unfamiliar. All in all, the group enjoyed everything and we had a very pleasant experience. I tend to go out of my way to talk with staff, thank them for their help and their patience....which appeared to go a long way because the team here really were helpful and attentive. Good choice for safe and good food in a casual setting.

Great place to sit on a busy corner, have a drink, and people watch. My kid really liked the hamburger too.

We ended up going with Ava and her boyfriend Yassine, lining up after dinner, around 10:30 on a Friday night. There was a small crowd waiting outside, and it took us about a half hour to get in. The place was fun and busy, and as charming as I remembered. We got seated in a loungey upstairs area and received excellent table service. There was free popcorn and even a complimentary round of welcome drinks, a strong mini cocktail of Gentian and peated whiskey. The menu had changed over completely since my first visit. The cocktail offerings were printed onto thick printed leaves arranged on metal branches, forming a cool little tree centerpiece that replaced a paper menu (there was also a more detailed menu available online). Several of the cocktails were labeled with raindrops, indicating they were available as mocktails--helpful for Yassine, who doesn't drink alcohol. Matt and I shared two rounds, sampling a good chunk of this new menu. Everything was delicious. The Carbone was a bright, interesting cocktail made with beetroot, black garlic, Origin smoked gin, and Dartigalongue Un-Oaked, served with a cube of frozen yogurt that melted lushly into the beet-red drink. The Serre Solaire was smooth and boozy, with black tea, green walnut and milk, Cointreau, and Rémy Martin cognac. The Résilience was a highbrow tropical cocktail, with sorghum, pineapple sage, Pasquet cognac, and Savanna rum. The Permaculture was creative and flavorful, with chestnut, butter, wakame umeshu, and Avallen Calvados. I also tried a sip of Ava's Aquaponie, a light, juicy vodka drink with basil, lemon and sweet clover, St. Germain, and Grey Goose. I love Little Red Door and I'm glad I got to visit a second time and share it with my husband. We do live kind of far away, but I hope a third visit is in the cards.

I found Danico Bar on one of those World's 50 Best Bars lists, and as it was walk-in only and like half a mile from our hotel, we decided to stroll over and try our luck. It was around 10:30 on a Wednesday night, and there were only a few people waiting ahead of us. Every guest we saw was an obvious tourist like us--many with shopping bags and actual luggage--who'd probably found Danico on the same World's 50 Best list. We got in after a short, comfortable wait, maybe ten minutes, all of them spent sitting down. The bar was dark and glamorous, a speakeasy-style spot in the back of an Italian restaurant. We got a table, which was great. The space was loud and busy, but we had our little perch. Table service was polite and efficient. We hung out until midnight and got in a couple of rounds. There was a thick book of a menu, with thirty cocktails celebrating Danico's tenth anniversary--three definitive drinks from each year. More than half of these were, unfortunately, sold out (it looked like a lot of them were pre-made in finite batches). We did well with what was left, though, including a few signatures available in unlimited quantities. All four of our cocktails were delicious. The Mirror Selfie was the lightest of the bunch, a fizzy highball with Citadelle gin, sweet vermouth, grapefruit, sakura tea, and bergamot perfume. The Sakura was a stronger drink, also with Citadelle gin and sakura, a Negroni variation rounded out with sweet vermouth, Campari, and umeshu. The Sado Miso was an Asian dessert of a cocktail, nutty and creamy but not sweet, made with Pierre Ferrand 1840 cognac rye whiskey, brown butter miso, anko, black sesame, egg, and rice and tofu milk. Then there was the Krakatoa, a wild milk punch with peanut butter distillate, Planteray 3 Stars rum, palm sugar, mango, pineapple, cucumber, sweet potato, lime, and soy milk. I was curious what it would taste like and didn't even know while I was drinking it, but it was fantastic. We had a a lovely time at Danico. The drinks were creative and the vibe was fun, while still easy enough for two elder millennials to enjoy with travel exhaustion. I'd recommend this place if you want interesting cocktails and don't mind drinking among (other) tourists.
