Crowded, sweaty, loud, with bands perfoming at the same level of the audience...In a cave...Yeah!

The cocktails are very fun, and they even have a few beers here if that's your thing. The servers speak fluent English, and it is popular with foreigners, but it's not a tourist trap by any means.

A friend recommended this place and Paris and the vibes are alluding, mysterious, and sexy. I found…read morea new drink I love I will try to make at home! So the little red door has a cute red door but the bouncer lets you in through another door (novelty observed haha). The man takes your jacket and umbrella (what a gentleman!) and sat us on the second floor. While the space between the couch and the seats were rather small, we were able to manage. I got the permaculture and resilience. The resilience is a club favorite and my favorite too! The way the sorghum, pineapple sage (syrup), pasquet cognac, and savanna rum all tied together was a blessing. I was going to get a third but I was tipsy by my second drink. My first drink was the permaculture and while I was considered it would be strong, it didn't seem strong to me. I love clarified dairy in alcohol so this was a win in my book. It consists of chestnut, butter, wakaze umeshu, avallen Calvados. The bar let's you stay for an hour but if you sit elsewhere, you can stay as long as you want. 5 stars and I hope to come back someday!

Went here in September 2025…read more Such a fun place. Think of the times you've been to a bar where the person making your drink really put their all into it. That's this place. Go see for yourselves. We liked it so much. It was our planned stop in route to Moulin Rouge, and that proved to us that we just had to bring our tribe with us on the way back. That's right. Two stops. One night. Enough said.

Dirty Dick may officially win the award for "most questionable name attached to a genuinely great…read moretiki bar." When we arrived the place was dead quiet -- like "did we accidentally come during a private apocalypse?" quiet. But as the evening went on, more people slowly wandered in and the atmosphere picked up. The drinks were fantastic: huge, strong, colorful, and dangerously fun. Exactly what you want from a tiki bar. The bartenders were incredibly sweet too. They answered all our questions, made recommendations based on what we actually like, and clearly knew their menu well. Always appreciate bartenders who don't just point randomly and say "this one." The decor and vibe were awesome -- dark, tropical, quirky, and full-on escapism. Felt like stepping into a hidden island bar in the middle of Paris. Only thing that threw us a little? The music. At several points it sounded less "tropical tiki escape" and more "waiting 45 minutes for Space Mountain at Disney World." Not bad exactly... just unexpectedly wholesome for drinks strong enough to make you text your high school friends at midnight. Overall though, we absolutely loved it and would 100% go back. Great drinks, great staff, fun atmosphere -- and honestly the weird Disney-adjacent soundtrack somehow became part of the charm.

Bubar - A perfect solo evening at Bubar.

My 500th review, dedicated to Bubar... This bar is magical…read more There's just something about this spot where you know so much has happened within these 4 walls over years and years. I fell in love with it a couple of weeks ago during my first trip to Paris, where I ended up visiting it not once but twice. It's a dive wine bar, but with so much character, in every nook and cranny. I had read reviews on both TripAdvisor and Yelp, albeit dated. There is no name listed on doorway so could be hard to miss, but something about the red lighting and energy just drew me in. (That and some trusty reviews online...) The first night was a little intimidating at first. A group of older gentlemen, all friends and all seemed to know the owner, were deep into conversation at the bar. However, as soon as I walked in, solo, that very owner, Jean-Loup (he made sure I captured the correct spelling, vs. some renditions in other reviews ;)) warmly greeted and welcomed me. From there on, it was bliss. For me personally it was a pivotal moment because just a few days prior to that, I was still a bit fearful about exploring the city solo with very little grasp of French, but that night, I felt brave and wandered by Bubar. So glad I did. Jean-Loup not only nailed a few wines for me that were all sheer perfection (there's a daunting list but disregard that and just tell him what you're in the mood for because he'll find something spot-on), but offered a small plate of nibbles, after asking if I preferred 'fruits or vegetables'...a sweet, personal touch. I enjoyed a wonderful night just respectfully observing his interactions with his buddies (clearly he is very adored here, and a local staple,) while he checked in on me regularly to ensure I was doing fine. Such an amazing evening. The following night I had to stop by again just to say goodbye. I simply won't be forgetting Jean-Loup and Bubar anytime soon. For anyone reading this who will be venturing into the bar, he mentioned he is not the most tech-savvy but was happy to hear he has so many positive reviews, and that I wanted to write a review (as the last one was from a year ago)...please let him know "Jennifer from Los Angeles" said hello, and mention this review. :) He's the absolute best.

Not a lot of French wine if that's what you're looking for, but a lot of wine from his travels all over the world. Place looks like a shrine to his life and travels, filled with music, wine and various souvenirs. Wonderful time.
