Worst service ever! My husband and I went in for a late lunch during our recent trip to Paris. The waitress that we had definitely did not enjoy her job - she barely came over to see how our meal was going and had a surly look on her face. My husband asked for a glass for his beer - she left to tend to other customers - I decided I would like a glass of ice - she was not around so my husband asked another waiter if they could bring it - she came back and snapped at us saying she was in the process of getting his glass for his beer. We tried to tell her that we were not asking for the glass again but for some ice. She then proceeded to talk to customers that were seated right next to us in French; not knowing that I could understand part of her conversation - she was saying bad things about us. We got our food - passable at best - overpriced for what you get. They then proceeded to start vacuuming right next to our table! We could see dust flying around us. Our waitress then proceeded to start beating the cushions on the chair right next to our table - once again - dust is in the air. We left - barely touching our food. With so many restaurants in Paris - this one you can pass. Word of advice to the waitress - pick another line of work where you are not dealing with customers - it is evident that you hate your job read more

I went here with a friend of mine one evening. This place was a little beyond our budget (but since when does that stop me?) by Trocadero. But we both had some wine, coq au vin, and a nutella pizza for dessert. The night was beautiful and so we walked down to the Avenue Montaigne (rich rich rich!!!) to grab another expensive drink. We went here on a recommendation from our concierge and were pleased with our experience but I wouldn't call it outrageous by any means. The service was very prompt, polite and attentive, house Bordeaux was not the greatest but certainly better then the usual house wine. I had a steak that came out a little quicker than you would think a steak would come out and it was a bit overly cooked. I had the Argentina style steak served with mashed potatoes that were good but a touch bland. A little salt and pepper quickly brought them back to life. My GF had the Risotto which turned out to be one of the better Risotto's we had in Paris. The outdoor seating with roll out canopy in case it begins to rain (which it did), is pleasant and ensures the weather doesn't ruin your evening. We finished with espressos and a small fudge filled chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream which was reminiscent of a molten chocolate cake in the US. All in all the ambiance, décor and overall feel of the restaurant is gorgeous and enjoyable but the food is nothing crazy to write home about. I think I'm mainly giving it 4 stars for the feel and service but more of a 3 on the food. Worth a visit for a nice night out but the food is subpar at best. read more

I love Coq. It's hard to find a place with such a great atmosphere in Paris, it's a little hotel costes style actually I think they own the place. They have a wonderful terrasse but the inside is also hype and with a cool background music. Even though I usually go there more for the atmosphere I have to say the food is also good. Their mashed potatoes is one of the best ones I had in Paris and their milanesa is yummy ( I'm kinda a milanesa addicted) and their pizzas are also good. Never tried the asian inspired dishes so I can't comment about that. Good selections of wine. Great place to go on a date also OPEN LATE read more

Great experience. Our waiter, Bastille, was super friendly and made great reccomendations. The fish cooked in banana leaves was absolutely delicious, which came with a fantastic curry sauce that I couldn't stop thinking about. While I wasn't a huge fan of how strong my drink was, everything else was very good. Very cool ambiance, too. read more

This place is literally 1 minute from the Eiffel Tower and that's the only good thing I can say about it. It was the least favorite meal of our trip, but also the most expensive. The waiter didn't give two s***s about us, or his other tables. I suppose they can get away with it, being this close to one of the world's most famous sites, but with the countless Brasseries around, you're better off finding another one. read more

This was a wonderful experience. We were seated promptly and were attended by a very friendly waiter who was very patient with us when we tried to say the dishes in French (but ended up but butchering it anyway). I ordered the shrimp Dim Sum as appetizer and the beef tartare for entre - both were divine! My first tartare, the beef was very flavorful and combined well with my side salad. I also ordered a cosmopolitan with my meal - one of the better ones that I've had! The only area where this restaurant loses points is the price - a little on the expensive side, but hey: c'est Paris! read more

First night in Paris my wife and I ate here on recommendation of hotel concierge as it was only a 5 min walk from hotel. Place was very busy even at 9 PM on a Sunday. I ordered the filet and fries and my wife ordered the Caesar salad. The salad was nice sized, dinner portion I guess. The filet was medium to rare, remember France, and it was so tender it melted in your mouth. Good place for a nice dinner pricey but great food. read more

My mother and I had a wonderful two week trip in Paris, on our last day in the city we decided to stop by le coq, we had a lovely lunch with quite the view. When paying for our lunch with credit card our waitress asked us if we would like to include a tip, we were slightly set back because tip (service) is included everywhere in Europe. So not wanting to leave her dry we included a tip. ( this is also the first time in two weeks we had been told tip wasn't included and that we have to add it.) We decided to go back to have dinner since it was near our hotel. we had a different waiter and at the end of our meal he never asked if we would like to add a tip. We paid and were about to walk out. I thought I might as well let the manager know that one of his staff members was lying to their customers and taking advantage of Americans. When I brought the subject matter up with the manager he didn't give two shits that his employee was treating the customers like this. At first I thought he didn't understand what I was saying because of the language barrier, but then I realized he totally understood and just was not accommodating at all. My mother and I were just trying to let him know that one of his waitresses took advantage of us. Overall, food was good and good ambiance. But very rude and ignorant managing. read more

Came to Paris to enjoy my birthday. Was told to come eat at Le Coq which sits in the shadow of the Eiffel Tower. The placed looked amazing and the ambiance was great BUT.......Once we got there, we sat outside, we waited 10 minutes and no one even spoke to us then the manager comes over to say its starting to rain and moved us inside. There we sat another 25 minutes before anyone offered us a cup of water. Then my husband has to get someone's attention just to get our order in. Then again the manager comes to see how we are doing, we tell him we are still waiting to eat and all he says is "DAMN" then walks away. Needless to say, the service receives ZERO stars and the food 1 star. It's like they didn't even try. Oh and beware restaurant allows smoking so not only was our service bad and the food bad but we inhaled smoke the entire time and well over priced......Not a representation of Paris.......I DO NOT recommend this establishment. read more

Walking up to the restaurant, I wasn't expecting much. I enter and see the place is sublimely decorated with a modern yet timeless feel to it. The waiters were were extremely kind and attended to our every need. The service was also surprisingly quick, and my food came out in mere minutes, to a very fine quality. This restaurant is also great if you want to bring your dog with you, as puppies are allowed. Overall, I had a great time at this restaurant and would give it a strong 9 1/2 out of 10. read more
