My partner and I were looking for a place in the neighbourhood we were visiting in Paris to celebrate our anniversary, we choose this restaurant because through the large windows we saw many locals sitting at gorgeous tables eating delicious food. This is a fine dining restaurant and wine bar with exceptional decor and ambiance. Every detail from the colour of the paint, the furniture, glasses, lighting and table setting is exceptional.
We were greeted by a welcoming host, and promptly seated and made to feel very welcome. The restaurant is just large enough that each table feels private, but at the same time the whole space feels cozy.
The menu had a variety of inventive yet traditional French fare, and it was difficult to choose what to order because all the menu items were so very appetizing. The food is locally sourced and all food items are made in house. They have "formulas" to choose from, for example: appetizer, entree and desert for €38, for any menu items. Daily specials not included.
I ordered pâté with fig compote and chives, served with crustinis, followed by grilled prawn risotto.
My partner ordered plank smoked salmon with whipped herb butter served with crustinis and veal served medium rare over herbed whipped potatoes with sweet potato and (some sort of sundries chillies perhaps?) drizzled in a cream sauce. Though I don't recall the name of the wine I ordered, I do recall that it was to die for.
We were both blown away by the smoked salmon, of which we have never had it's equal. The food was delectable from start to finish. I love risotto and try it as often as possible, it was decadent and had a delicate balance of flavours.
We were so satisfied we didn't order desert, so I cannot comment on that other than to say that I was eyeing up the deserts of all the other patrons...and it seems to me that if a table falls silent when eating desert as many did, the deserts must be excellent.
Some other notable details:
The restaurant also has a private space in the back with a large table for large groups of people.
The service is wonderful.
The washrooms are immaculate and use actual individual hand towels.
The decor is unique and curent.
The seating is very comfortable.
Many menu items suitable for GF diets
There are no stairs in the restaurant, and the washrooms are spacious, so this may be a good choice for people with mobility concerns.
***The restaurant is across from Volontaires Métro Station (Line 12) and is easily accessible***
We will certainly be eating here again before we fly out. I would recommend this restaurant to both locals and visitors alike.
I wish I had taken photos for fellow yelpers but some moments have to be lived in rather than recorded, right?
