    Stew turkey

I'm so happy to have this restaurant so close by! This is my go to spot for Haitian food. They have provided me many a delicious lunch or dinner. I always order the stew or fried turkey with rice and beans. The flavors are amazing especially if you add a little pikliz for extra spice. Portions are huge as well and I always have leftovers. Since COVID this is only to go so make sure to call ahead or order through an app.

Best Haitian food in Broward HANDS DOWN! The food has so much flavor in every bite. The wait staff is attentive and they have a great attitude. Everything is cook to order so it may take a while for the food to come out but it is so worth the wait. It's a small restaurant with a few tables. Everytime I go I never have issues getting a seat. The young lady that works the counter during the day is very pleasant. They feed you well and treat you well. I'm so happy I found this place. It's close to my house and I go very often. I have tried the fried snapper, Turkey tassot, and griot. Excellent quality, large portions, worth every penny!!!

Crab leg in the legume, when I told the cashier I was allergic. I could have died.

Allergic reactions can be fatal --especially when it is caused by an allergic reaction to an ingredient that wasn't supposed to be there. I ordered a platter of legume with No CRAB because I'm allergic to shellfish. I clearly expressed that to the lady who was placing the to-go orders. This restaurant makes two versions of legume. One with seafood and one without. The one with shrimp and crab is more expensive. To make a long story short, I took a bite of the legume and had an anaphylactic reaction and had to use my Epipen. Many people don't seem to realize that these small lapses can mean life or death to a person with food allergies. My epipen saved my life. I notified the restaurant about the situation. Although the male staff was sympathetic, the lady was not. She blamed me for not checking my food and called me a liar. She said I never told her about my food allergy. She was upset and had an attitude. I asked her to speak to the the male owner and she refused. My life was endangered. I'm suppose to be the one upset! I am giving this restaurant a one star because of the overall professionalism of the staff and the lack of special care to protect their diners from consuming food they are allergic to--both for the sake of their diners' heath and for their own reputations. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

This tiny little Haitian restaurant on the site of a beat-up pizza place in a run down shopping center in west Boca is getting all the accolades, especially from Pulitzer Prize winning food writer Liz Balmaseda at the Palm Beach Post. And for good reason, chef/owner Greg Romulus knows how to cook. Haitian food doesn't get a lot of sit down restaurant attention because most places are in blue collar neighborhoods where Haitian Americans can live affordably, and virtually all of them are just simple takeout places. This is more of a Haitian date joint, as Romulus has taken his experience cooking at local Italian restaurants and has created a hybrid Haitian Italian experience. He's creative even with his traditional dishes which are vegetable and carb focused and usually have simply prepared proteins. It's next level Haitian. Don't expect a quick or fast paced experience. There's only 20 seats in a very tight space and he's doing all the cooking so it all comes out sequentially. There's just one girl serving and it has a lot of takeout customers. But it's worth going because the value for food quality is substantial. My wife and I started with Legume with Jumbo Shrimp, ($16). Five massive perfectly cooked jumbo shrimp on top of a stew of root and green vegetables, similar to a ratatouille. Came with semi sweet fried plantains and Riz Djean Djean which is a mushroom flavored rice with Caribbean peas. Loved this. Can be ordered vegan or with beef, chicken or shrimp. Also ordered Griot Simple which is deep fried pork chunks, which is probably considered the national dish of Haiti. It's similar to Cuban Masitas but doesn't have the same intense garlic sour orange marinade. Instead, the zing comes from a side dish -- "Picklez" which is a mayonnaise-free vinegary coleslaw that's amped with a lot of habanero chile. Seriously spicy. I felt this dish was a little dry but still very tasty and a worthy rendition. Totally want to come back and try more stuff. It's great that we are getting decent Caribbean food in the area now, along with Rootz Bar & Cafe in Tamarac.

I was so excited to find out there was a Haitian restaurant near my home. I usually have to wait until I'm at work in Broward county to get authentic Haitian cuisine. I found the restaurant via Instagram. The food pics looked absolutely amazing! I visited about 3pm on a Friday, I walked in, and wasn't greeted. I had to ask the young white female dressed in her cut off top, exposed stomach, PINK branded tights and flip flop sandals whether I could seat myself. She then says: "you wanna eat here?" Well obviously, if I wanted takeout I would've just ordered at the counter. Anyway, she took my order and sent it through the window into the kitchen. About 15 minutes later I hear a woman yell out to her. The young girl then places a phone call and I can hear her say: "she told me to call you, because there's people waiting on food"! Ummmmmm what?!?! So there was no cook at the restaurant when I ordered? Why wasn't I told anything?! She then tells the woman in the kitchen: "he says he's on his way". I then tell the young girl, that had I known there was no cook, I wouldn't have ordered. She assured me that he was close and it wouldn't be long. I decided to wait since I was off that day and didn't have anything else to do. 10 minutes later I hear a male voice in the back kitchen, another customer who had been waiting prior to me then says: "oh he's here, I can hear the chef". Nonetheless, another 15 minutes and my food arrives. I ordered the griot dinner with a side of red beans and rice since it wasn't included in the meal. It looked pretty good, however, it was nothing special, nothing about the plate excited my taste buds. It was at best; average. I imagined a bust of flavor seeing that the chef advertised as being a Haitian restaurant with a twist of Italian flare. I asked the girl for an extra side of rice, apparently I bothered her because she had to finish her text message before she requested the side of sauce. I finished the rice, but left most of the pork and 1 1/2 pieces of my bannann (plantain) on the plate. When I was done, I asked the young girl for my check, she responded with: "you want me to bring it to you?" Wow! I told her not to worry and I'd come to here, it would be quicker so I could hurry up and leave. Overall this place has a lot of potential, customer service just needs A LOT of work. I'm sure had the food not been rushed it would've been much better. Sadly though a first impression is a lasting impression, and I'll stick to eating my Haitian food back in Broward county.

Milford tasted good the portion was fair but their customer service is very bad has all Haitian businesses they don't know how to talk they don't know how to care for customer that lady was always on her cell phone talking while the phone is ringing and you in front of her even ordering prior to that

    Legume...so flavorful and so good

My first time dining at Le Bistro. It's a small quaint eatery. Not a full restaurant so large parties would probably not be recommended. Definitely a local neighborhood spot to get good food. I came here on a Sunday night for dinner with my friend and fellow Yelper Kim A. She's been before and raves about it so I came along to see the hype. The food was like when you go to your mothers house and she throws down in the kitchen and everyone comes over to hang and eat. That's the vibe I got. It was so good tasty and fresh. My first time tasing Legume...man it was good. I had the fried snapper fish that was cooked to perfection. We had a side of Mac&Cheese which was good but a little too cheesy for me. I wished the Pikliz was a tab but more spicy but still had a little kick. Was such a good time at this little gem. Will for sure be back.

Griot Complete W/ Diri Jon Jon.

If you're one of the 30k+ followers of Le Bistro Instagram account you probably salivate at how amazing the dishes look and how great the plating was. After seeing the constant postings i decided the next time I headed home to Miami I would make a stop to Boca Raton and satisfy my cravings. The location was not easy to find as it's squeezed into a plaza. I ordered the Griot Complete and a side of Macaroni Au Gratin. When I opened my plate I was disappointed that it wasn't the fancy plating that's al over the social media page but as long as the food is good right? Wrong. My plantains were cold and just not good. Took a bite into the griot and wondered if my taste buds were playing tricks on me. Being of Haitian descent. That was the most disappointing griot I've had. Very under seasoned and just plenty of fat pieces and not enough meat. The Diri jon jon tasted old and again under seasoned. The pikliz was an insult to all pikliz lovers. Well maybe the macaroni will save this? Wrong again. I don't know what was in that plate but it was basically macaroni with melted cheese on the top layer. Awful. I don't know if i got a bad batch or maybe the cook only cooks meals for the instagram page. But if you're from Miami don't waste your gas or money. There are plenty of other Haitian restaurants that are well worth in our area. This ain't it.

My sister was spending Mothers Day with me & was craving some really gray Haitian food. Being as she lives in Miami & has her pick of Haitian restaurant down there. I told her so far the only Haitian restaurant I've found in Boca that comes close to Grandmas & mom's cooking was Le Bistro 2.0. I was introduce to this delicacy 1 year ago and I just can't get enough of it.

The ambiance is that of a fast casual restaurant with and order counter and tables lining the outer perimeter of the restaurant. There are TVs playing as well. The service wasn't particularly friendly, the two ladies up front seemed more interested in chatting than helping me with the menu. The lunch special came with a soda but they do not offer diet soda and they will not substitute bottled water. I walked in for pickup, and the two lunches probably took 15-20 minutes to be prepared. My husband got the griot, which was flavorful but dry. I got the stewed chicken which was slightly overcooked and underseasoned. I did enjoy the fried smashed plantains, but the rice and beans tasted weirdly ashy? We barely touched those. The pikliz was only ok. Overall, I would not return as I was disappointed.
