    Jerk meatballs minus some bites
    Julie h.

I've been wanting to come here for some time and it finally worked in my favor last night! I ordered food to go from here during the covid days when places were shut down and I was so impressed then. It's a family owned establishment which is so nice to see and support. We opted to sit inside to avoid the Florida mugginess. We ordered a large sangria to share. It was on the sweet side but very tasty! We then ordered numerous apps: jerk meatballs, conch fritters, garbanzo beans and plantain fries. We probably should of stopped there but we were told the ox tail pepper pot was a must and my boyfriend was eyeing the curry goat. Everything was favorable and so tasty. This was my first time trying ox tail and it won't be my last. We were all happy that we came and will definitely be back!

This is a great restaurant! Went for the first time a few weeks ago with my 7 year old daughter. Everything we ordered was very very very good. Might be the best food I've eaten. Okra rice and plantains accompanied curried grouper. Perfect pairing. My daughter ate Mac and Cheese made a special Bamboo fire way. We brought home the leftovers and ate the next day. Wonderful!!

Last minute decision to try a new place for dinner on Easter Sunday. Barbara and her family were kind and very welcoming. Ordered dhal as appetizer and curry chicken with roti as main course. Delicious!

Best meal we had in Florida! Walked in and knew we were about to have a home style meal! Smiley was great and her Sad was really nice as well. Everything recommended was 10/10.

    Jerk meatballs as appetizer

Located in downtown Delray Beach, Bamboo Fire offers terrific Guyanese cuisine in a small restaurant with outdoor seating. The menu cover blandly describes the cuisine as "Caribbean" and "international," but the owner is Guyanese; thus, I assume the food is closer to Guyanese in style. Having never visited Guyana or tried Guyanese food before, I can't say what at Bamboo Fire is distinctly Guyanese, though common Caribbean fare, such as curries, jerk, plantains, conch, and other seafood dominate. My husband and I ordered the jerk chicken ($15), tofu curry ($13), along with a side of roti ($4). The jerk chicken and tofu curry came with a salad, okra fried rice, and plantains. Our server brought out the salad first, like it was an appetizer rather than a side, followed by our mains. Both dishes, along with the okra fried rice, were wonderfully flavorful and well-spiced. The chicken especially was tender and delicious, while the curry carried heat. I particularly appreciated that the food was not too oily; the roti was not greasy at all. The portions were adequate, and we left feeling more than satiated. By arriving at around 6PM on a Friday, we were able to find street parking two streets away. However, as other Yelp reviewers have noted, street parking is limited, though a parking garage is nearby. The restaurant is in walking distance of the main strip on Atlantic Ave, making it a convenience spot from which to further explore Delray.

This place was soo good and the sit down family style is really nice. All the food was hot and the service and people were friendly. For the appetizers we got the fried plantains, tostadas with a garlic butter sauce, and complimentary jerk meatballs. We got for the entrees was chicken jerk with non-American and American spicy, the curry goat with roti and the peppered oxtail. Each entree came with a salad that was okay. Additionally the meal came with rice for the table. The chicken jerk was so spicy and so flavorful and the plantains were cooked so well. I also got a sangria that's was sweet and tangy. This place is was great and will be returning next time I'm in town!

Omg the food and staff so amazing let's just say that. This food is from Guyanese but amazing, for Carrie an food. The food well seasoned and gave you so much. My mom and I shared the oxtail, curry goat, jerk chicken, and the rum cake. And the staff was polite, recommended a lot of amazing choices. And we will definitely be going back. To try a few other dishes as well. The ambiance was really relaxed as well to. I definitely recommend both my mom and I went here

The fried plantains with the garlic butter sauce was PERFECT

Overall I would come back to this resturant and try out more dishes. The meatballs were very good, I would of liked it a bit More well done on the outside but it was flavorful with a kick at the end. The plantains were perfect! The conch also delicious and prepared very well. I'm not a fan of okra so the rice threw me off but honestly it was probably the best okra I had comparing between the few times I tried it. But I would of just preferred regular rice and peas. The oxtail was very good. The salad was fine but I didn't get any dressing. The rum cake was strong. It tasted like the cake was made then rum was pour over it not Like the cake was actually made with the rum. The ice cream had frost bite on it which sucked and the cake portion was way too small compared to the amount of ice cream and whipped cream that was on it.

The only negative thing I have to say was that the music was painstakingly loud that I could barely hear my mom and she was sitting right in front of me at the table. It was also super cold inside on a day in Florida where it was in the 30-40s range of temps outside. Overall, I would love to come back to try the coldbrew! Additionally, they had a cute winter seasonal menu that I would want to come back for.

When you first walked in you are literally transported into Wonderland. It is so whimsical! We spent a good 10 minutes just looking around the restaurant and taking pictures it was so cute! Our waitress, Alana, quickly greeted our table and was so adorable and happy! We even commented to her that we've never seen a server be so happy and she told us about all the perks of working there. We quickly decided what we wanted to order, and then patiently waited for our food. Much to our surprise they had singers in the restaurant! Forbes serenaded us a few times and then, Alana belted it out some Disney Tunes! Both of their voices were incredible and it was a nice treat. The food arrived, and it was scrumptious! The birthday girl had the key and said it was so delicious! My fiance had the waffle and ate every bite. I had the stuff Nutella and pistachio croissant and it was good, although it seemed over toasted. All in all we had such a beautiful birthday brunch at this Cafe. Seeing those was enough for me to want to try! We went with two of our friends who have also never tried before. We went on a Sunday afternoon and arrived to a fairly empty plaza. There was one other table full besides ours and they seemed to be of Georgian background so that was already an indication that this restaurant was going to be authentic. We told our waiter that we have never had any kind of Georgian food before and to please give us recommendations. He was very kind and gave us great recommendations for newbies. We ordered: * eggplant rolls (fried eggplant with walnut-garlic paste) * khachapuri adjaruli (boat-shaped bread filled with cheese, butter, and an egg yolk) * veal khinkali (Georgian soup dumplings) * pork kebab * chkmeruli (chicken in creamy garlic sauce) We enjoyed - every - single dish. Oftentimes, eggplant can be a bit slimy, but however they prepared this eggplant, it was perfect. This is a cold dish. The khachapuri adjaruli was very rich. It was a bit messy to eat as there's no way to cut into this without the mixture oozing out. We saw the table next to us had ordered a different version of this (just with cheese alone) and they had no issue with a mess so I think it's because we had the one with the addition of butter and an egg yolk. Even though it was messy to eat, it was DELICIOUS. Honestly, this could've just been a full meal itself as it's incredibly filling. Just a suggestion to the restaurant to perhaps use a serving dish with edges for this particular khachapuri though to prevent spilling! The khinkali was our favorite of everything ordered. It was 5 very large dumplings in one order. Being of East/Southeast Asian and used to smaller sized dumplings, seeing how big these were was a treat! The waiter kindly taught us how to properly eat these (hold the stem, flip it upside down, take a nibble of the skin, sip out the soup, then fully eat these whole thing). Next we had the pork kebab. We originally wanted lamb, but they had run out so we opted for pork instead. Usually a lot of places tend to overcook pork so it is dry, but these were cooked so well! It was served with some kind of tomato sauce that paired great with it. The chkmeruli was ordered by our friend who absolutely loved and obliterated the dish. I don't think I need to say more. Overall, we had such a wonderful meal and experience and definitely recommend this place!

When we stopped by for lunch, they were fairly full inside -- which meant 4 of the tables were taken. It was a one-man band as the owner/chef was doing everything by himself. He was waiting on everyone and preparing the food, as well. Oh, and btw, he is from Paris. I started with an iced decaf coffee. The coffee was very good -- not bitter like the famous chain everyone goes to. I also ordered a sandwich of turkey with cranberry sauce and brie. It regularly comes also with ham, but I had him leave this off. They were out of baguettes so our choices of bread was a panini or a panini (!) -- so we got a panini. My husband ordered a tuna sandwich with veggies. I think the guy thought he'd ordered tuna with cheese, however. It took a bit to get our sandwiches as the chef was making crepes and other food for the rest of the customers. We were okay with this -- although hungry. Both sandwiches were served hot from the panini press. And both sandwiches were thoroughly enjoyed. We didn't get any dessert, but several items looked appealing.
