Solid little place. We ordered the crab cakes for an appetizer, my wife went with the fried catfish I went with shrimp gumbo and a Cobb salad. The crab cakes were good, I don't think they were homemade; but they were not full of breading. The waiter came out and said they didn't have any boiled eggs for the Cobb salad. What? How hard/long to boil eggs. I went with a Caesar salad. The food came out quickly. The gumbo was light on the rice, but had plenty of shrimp and sausage. Was more like a soup, but a good taste. My wife loved the catfish. My Caesar salad was interesting, you don't use iceberg lettuce and just croutons. Food was okay, service was good and speedy. Music was rap and a lot too loud. Went for weekend brunch, January 2023. Because celebrating Nana's birthday, failed to stop and photograph the food. Fried Chicken was very good. The brunch tacos with slow cooked beef and eggs were enormous. Good flavor. Enjoyed the crabcakes. Very good value on the kids meals: chicken and half waffles. I came here with a friend for a late lunch and REALLY enjoyed it! Given that it's winter and the river has dried up, the Riverwalk doesn't have the same effect as it used to, but that doesn't take anything away from Le Belle. The venue was mostly empty the entire time we were there, which was peaceful. We both had the spicy chicken and waffles, and let me say--the chicken was spicing and the waffle was waffling. It was the perfect mix of sweet and spicy, and the waffle was light and fluffy. It was also quite a substantial portion size. I enjoyed the Hurricane Belle and Simply Belle cocktails--it was a rum and bourbon sort of day. Our server came over to frequently check on us, and we enjoyed a leisurely lunch. The three shrimp on top of the gumbo helped to get Le Belle a solid 1-star rating from me. They were good, the rest of the meal was a disaster. The more that I thought about it the madder I got, because I had paid so much for such a miserable meal. The excuse for a bowl of gumbo was a light thin watery broth, rice and chopped zucchini. That was it for the vegetables. Chopped ZUCCHINI, no okra, pepper or onions. A few slices of some kind of sausage and shrimp. Three shrimp to be exact, on top, doing their best to hide the bad soup underneath. What are they trying to pull off here? Whoever made the gumbo did not know what a roux is or gumbo, or how to make it. Or they just decided to make something, and pass the meal off as gumbo to the customer. Progresso in a can wins here! The terrible small "Cesar Salad " was equal in quality. Chopped iceberg lettuce, not romaine, flakes of parmesan cheese and bottled Cesar dressing. My wife's catfish was cooked on the outside and under cooked on the inside. Probably puled straight out of the freezer, rolled in cornmeal then fried, still a little slimy on the inside. I could keep going, describing the red beans and tarter sauce in detail. They were no better. The restaurant has been open for a while. Only 22 reviews on Yelp? That means something. Le Belle is struggling to maintain a 4-star review. The service was marginal. This might be a great place to drink but avoid the food. Yes. the three shrimp did their best, salvaging 1 Star rating for the restaurant. The vibes here scream "Going out of business soon." Drink here, maybe. Eat here, Oh hell no! Rip off! read more

Checked out Le Belle for brunch today. It was a bumpy start and some issues but I did bring it to the staffs attention which prompted the owner to come out and talk to us. She was a complete delight and wanted to know what was wrong and how should she fix it for us. Even offered to comp our whole meal (which we refused) I believe her name was Alicia and you can really tell she cares about her place. Drinks made by Frankie (who was awesome) Blackberry mojito - made perfect and really could actually taste the mint in it and not just thrown in the drink(little to sweet for me so I will opt out of the simply syrup next time) Simply Belle - perfect taste and great touch with a grilled peach garnish Fired green tomatoes app- didn't eat all but one bite cause it came out with our meals but the cook and spice was on point Monte Cristo - nicely done. Was nice to have a large amount of ingredients inside. Potatoes were nicely cooked as well Beef tacos - husband raved about them and the amount they give you is crazy. He had no complains Lobster bisque - husband said he will be back for a bucket of it, enough said Cajun catfish and fries- my son ate every bite and he said "man it's been a long time since I've cleared a plate from a restaurant cause it was good". Again, enough said. Food was outstanding, loved meeting the owner and we are planning to go back and check out their dinner menu and more bar drinks (Frankie told me a couple to try for next time). *if you do go, understand their AC is working as hard as it can. Mimi took us here for my 75th B/D! What a feast it was. I had a cup of lobster bisque. Very good but maybe not 5 . The shrimp gumbo was my 5 dish. I added someone's crawfish and it went over the top! Mimi had the meatloaf w/gumbo sauce on the side. It was good but the sauce certainly added flavor. Trav had the catfish. Loved it. He was looking forward in getting the beans and rice as his side dish but got green beans instead. They were okay. Bella got down on the chicken&waffles. Our first time at La Belle restaurant and event center. We were greeted promptly and very friendly. We were early for our reservation so we sat at the bar. The bartender was friendly! My Old Fashioned was perfect. The rest of our party arrived and that's when the fun began. Kennedy, Our server was a sweetheart. She was super friendly and very attentive. We had the Cajun Shrimp bruschetta appetizer. So fresh! The Cajun Pasta and Meatloaf were a delight. I opted for a side to try the dirty rice! Yum! The Salmon was very good too! Cajun is not a favorite of mine, but this southern-fusion restaurant is fabulous. Everything was delicious. From the 2(!) martinis to the beignets. I had the beef tips, and let me tell you they were tender and savory abs was the mashed potato bed on which they were served. Frankie, our waiter, was quick and charming and intent on making sure we had a great dining experience. I can't recommend this restaurant enough. Try it, you won't regret it. Went for St Patrick's Day brunch, took 20 minutes to get drinks from the bar there were only 2-3 other tables and they had theirs already, the drinks tasted fishy and had clumps and rotting celery stick in it! Eggs were basically hockey pucks and bacon was burnt beyond crispy and the waffles were stone cold The chicken tenders were breaded nicely and had a nice flavor. Never again! First time here. Brunch on Saturday. Arrived at 10:55am and while we were going to wait for them to open, a very pleasant person opened the door and invited us in. We asked for a booth because we called to make a reservation and were told that there was a large party scheduled for 11:00am. She seated us on the other (south) side of the dining area away from the large table set up for the larger party. We were the first customers. She brought us waters and we each ordered a Mimosa ($5). Another server came by to see if we had any questions about the menu and took our order. My partner ordered the Quiche which came with a nice salad ($10). I ordered the 2X2X2 ($9). The food came out it about 15 minutes piping hot. She loved the Quiche and I enjoyed my meal (eggs over easy, bacon, breakfast potatoes). We both also ordered an Irish Coffee ($7.50) which quickly came out. The meal was excellent. The service was outstanding. The music in the background was pleasant and not loud. The restrooms were clean. This place has a huge bar with comfortable looking stools, which I can guarantee we will try out. Our table was pre-bussed as we cleaned off our plates. This is the best service we've had for some time. Neither hostess nor waitress provided their names. I wish they would have because they were excellent. I've seen some negative reviews from previous reviewers, but we encountered no problems at all. We look forward to coming back. Our check came to $52.36. I tipped $15. If we'd paid cash, the amount would have been $51.08. Well done, Le Belle. read more

People were very nice but I didn't get my drink when everybody else did. No it was not alcohol. She apologized and said I would not be charged because it took her so long to bring it. Then my food, well, I only got about a half order again she said I would not be charged. They ran out. I had gone to the restroom when she brought the check. I looked after we got to the car. We were charged for both. It's my fault for not checking but still. We were charged 21.50 more than we were told we would be. My husband got his food at least 10 minutes after everyone else. He eats faster than me so I guess it worked out but again not the way it should have been. The food was okay. I can't say I can recommend it. The water did not work at the sinks in the bathroom either. I had soap on my hands. Went back to the table and poured my drinking water on my hands to get the soap off. Sorry, I hate being critical, but decided to post. Maybe it was an off night for them. read more

Went this Saturday, 5/13/23. Sat down in the patio area and ordered our drinks. After drinks were brought out, we were then told Brunch menu only being served....I think that should have been mentioned in the beginning, especially Mother's Day weekend. Another group was told Brunch only and seemed caught off guard too and they were told Brunch after their drinks from the bar chaching! They, too, were looking at both sides of the menu. We should have left. Ordered a cup of soup and thought it would come out before my entree. Finally, after 35 minutes, my boyfriend went to go check on it. They told us they would try to catch the kitchen and let them know I wanted before my meal....nope I got it with my 2 egg breakfast. The excuse was that we cook every meal when ordered? Even soup?. It had obviously been sitting there waiting our cooked to order entrees as it was lukewarm....I just ate it. He got shrimp and grits with sausage. Said it was good but small serving for $18! Gianna, our server was nice enough. Knowing I was upset with soup being served at same no comp or even a discount. Nice atmosphere, but it's a One and Done for us. I really don't see how they will make it. All sides are $9 even fries. Don't think they will make it unless some things change. read more

Our first visit to Le Belle was for brunch on Father's Day. We really liked the food but the band had the speakers so loud we had a difficult time hearing each other speak (loved the jazz though). Nonetheless, we liked the food so much we wanted to give it another shot. Our experience was worse this time. We sat down for dinner at 7:00 pm and had to listen to a DJ blast his music and talk over the microphone as often as he could between songs. This is not a big restaurant and it was definitely not full of people, so to me it wasn't necessary to play music that loud during dinner hours. It was extremely loud and so obnoxious! We had to scream across the table and it was still hard to hear. Even our server was having a difficult time and apologized for it being so loud. She said that she asked if they would ask the DJ to turn it down and they told her no. This definitely made it a frustrated dining experience. It's really unfortunate, because the food and the service were on point. Maybe the 'club' vibe is what they're going for. If so, that's fine, it's just not for me. I love music, just not at an obnoxious volume while trying to enjoy dinner with my family. It would be nice if they would tone it down during dinner hours then crank it up after 9:00. Hopefully they get their AC fixed, too because it was so hot inside. read more

This is such a fun place. They have a fantastic bar inside that's great to meet friends any time of day. If the weather is nice the porch is my favorite place to eat.
